Seven Sins System Chapter 479. I Stole Your Childhood

Her face moved even closer, her lips just a whisper away from mine. I could feel the heat between us. But there was sothing holding her back, sothing stopping her from closing that final distance.

“Red…” I murmured, my voice low, almost a warning. My hand slid up to her waist, resting there, though I didn’t pull her closer.

I let her make the decision, let her choose what happened next. For a long mont, she didn’t move, didn’t speak. She just stared at , her eyes searching mine as if trying to find sothing—reassurance, maybe, or a truth that she wasn’t sure she wanted to hear.

Then, slowly, she leaned in and kissed .

Her lips were soft against mine, but there was a heaviness that I hadn’t expected. It wasn’t just passion or desire, it was sothing deeper, sothing more painful. I could feel the bitterness in it. She kissed as though she was trying to work through her own confusion, her own feelings of betrayal and longing.

I returned the kiss, hoping, foolishly, perhaps... that I could sohow take away that bitterness, that my touch would be enough to soothe the ache she felt. But it didn’t work. No matter how much I wanted to make it better, the bitterness lingered.

She broke the kiss, pulling back slightly, her eyes still locked onto mine.

“What are you thinking?” I asked quietly, my voice barely above a whisper. I knew there was sothing she wasn’t saying.

She hesitated, her eyes flickering with uncertainty before she finally spoke. "Did you give this contract because you feel sorry for ?" she asked, her voice soft but laced with pain. It was the question that had been lingering between us all along—the question she had been too afraid to ask until now.

“No,” I said firmly, my hand tightening slightly on her waist. “It’s because you deserve it, Red.”

Her eyes remained skeptical, her lips pressed into a thin line as if she wasn’t sure whether to believe or not. I sighed, knowing that simple words wouldn’t be enough to explain everything, to make her understand the depth of my decision.

“I never wanted to throw you away,” I continued, my voice gentle. “But back then, you weren’t a demon. You’re a vampire. I couldn’t bring you to my realm, not without putting you in danger. And answering your summon would have only continued to hurt you. Every ti you called for , I knew that staying away was the only way I could protect you.”

Her expression softened slightly, but I could see the confusion still swirling in her eyes.

“I wished you could live well in this mortal realm,” I explained, my voice growing quieter. “That’s why I didn’t answer your summons. I thought the first step to helping you was to clear your na, to sever the ties that made people think you were still connected to . You were still so young back then… still just a child when I brought you into war, into battles you shouldn’t have had to fight. I stole your childhood.”

I paused, looking away for a mont, my gaze drifting to the window. “You deserved peace,” I said softly. “And if I took you to my realm, you never would have experienced that. There is no peace in the shadow realm, only power struggles and constant battles. You needed to live in a world where you could have more than that. Where you could have a life.”

Red was silent for a long ti, her gaze dropping to the floor. I could see the conflict in her eyes, the way she was trying to reconcile everything I had just told her with the years of loyalty and devotion she had given .

“I never wanted to hurt you,” I added, my voice barely a whisper now. “But I didn’t know how to protect you from and my bad reputation.”

She finally looked up, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “You didn’t have to protect ,” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “I chose to stay with you. I chose to fight beside you, to be loyal to you. You didn’t force into anything. You never did.”

I smiled softly at her. “I know,” I said, my voice quiet. “You’ve always had a choice. And you chose .” Red had waited for , even when I had disappeared from the mortal realm, even when I had left her behind without an explanation. She had stayed loyal, even when I hadn’t deserved it.

This ti, I leaned in and kissed her. But this kiss was different from the one before. There was no hesitation, no bitterness. Instead, the kiss felt sweeter, more sincere. My lips moved against hers slowly.

Red responded imdiately, her body softening against mine as she kissed back, her hands gently cradling my face.

I could feel the relief in her touch, the way she lted into as if this kiss, this mont, was sothing she had been waiting for just as long as I had. My hands slid up her waist, pulling her closer to , the warmth of her body was so different from the cold distance I had maintained between us for so long.

I tilted my head slightly, my tongue slipping past her lips and exploring the warmth of her mouth. I could taste her—the faint sweetness of her breath mixed with the hunger she had been holding back. It was intoxicating. My hand moved up, my fingers tangling in her hair as I pulled her even closer, wanting to erase every bit of space between us.

Red let out a soft, almost inaudible sigh against my lips, her hands gripping my shoulders as if she never wanted to let go. I could feel her desperation in the way she clung to , the way she pressed herself against as if she was afraid I would disappear again, that this was so fleeting dream she didn’t want to wake from.
