Seven Sins System Chapter 469. Shit Happens

“Fucking hell,” I hissed, barely able to contain the pain as I reached for a cloth with my other hand.

I needed to wipe it off before it could do more damage, but the touch of the cloth against the wound made wince even more. The holy water wasn’t just an external burn—it was like it had seeped into my very essence, attacking from the inside out.

Two seconds felt like an eternity as the corrosive effect spread through my skin, each mont dragging on in excruciating detail. But finally, after what seed like an endless stretch of agony, the burning stopped. The holy water had done its damage, and now all that was left was the aftermath.

I stared down at the wound on my hand, a small droplet of water having created a searing, three-centiter scar. The droplet had been no larger than half a centiter, yet it had managed to carve out a wound far greater in size. It showed how destructive holy water could be to a devil like . I gritted my teeth, my eyes narrowing at the angry red scar that marred my skin. I could feel the edges of the wound tingling, a dull ache lingering even after the burning had stopped.

“Dark Healing…” I muttered under my breath, casting the skill with a flick of my fingers. The dark energy flowed through , knitting the damaged tissue together, restoring my HP to its maximum.

[You have healed yourself by 15 HP!]

The notification blinked in front of , confirming that I was physically healed. But, despite my full HP, the scar remained. It wouldn’t fade with my healing abilities, not imdiately. Instead, it would linger, slowly healing over the course of days, maybe even a week, like a human wound without healing skills.

I took a deep breath, trying to push down the frustration that was bubbling up inside . “Well, this is going to ruin my cool look,” I grumbled, more to myself than to anyone else. The scar was a blemish. But what could I do? Shit happened, and there was no point in ranting about it. This had been my choice, after all, even if it felt like a stupid one in hindsight.

Carefully, I reached for the lid of the flask. The last thing I wanted was for another drop of that cursed water to escape and do more damage. My hand still throbbed from the previous burn. I closed the flask with a click.

With a mix of disgust and relief, I returned the flask to the drawer, tucking it away beneath so clothes and other items. I didn’t want to touch it again, didn’t even want to think about it.

Once the flask was safely out of sight, I turned my attention back to the necklace. It lay on the table. The gold chain looked pristine, unmarred by the process it had just undergone. The purple stone at the center still shimred with a subtle glow, but there was sothing different about it now—sothing purer, cleansed of my dark energy that had tainted it before.

I reached for a clean cloth, carefully overlapping it over the necklace. With gentle movents, I tapped the cloth against the necklace, ensuring that every last drop of the holy water was gone.

The hissing sound had stopped, the purification complete, but I wasn’t taking any chances. The last thing I needed was for a stray droplet to be left behind, lurking in the chain or the stone, waiting to cause more trouble for .

After ensuring the necklace was dry and free of any lingering holy water, I carefully tested it with my fingers. The tal was cool to the touch. Satisfied that the purification process was complete and that it was safe, I slipped the necklace into my pocket.

With a resigned sigh, I opened another portal, the swirling darkness appearing before as I prepared to return to the playground where I had last seen her. I stepped through, and within monts, I was back in the cool night air.

Erging from the portal, I found myself behind the sa large tree as before. I scanned the area quickly and, to my frustration, spotted her almost imdiately. There she was, still searching for her lost necklace, moving around the slides now with a focused, almost obsessive intensity. The sight of her, so stubbornly determined to find sothing that was no longer there, stirred a mixture of emotions within —annoyance, pity, and sothing else I couldn’t quite na.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the interaction to co. I wasn’t interested in hiding any longer or acting like so voyeur in the shadows. I stepped forward, about to reveal myself, when she suddenly turned, her sharp gaze locking onto my position with startling accuracy. Her eyes narrowed, and before I could utter a word, she summoned her blade, hurling it at with deadly intent.

My instincts kicked in. I used my teleportation skill, vanishing from my spot and reappearing directly in front of her. “Stop it,” I said, my voice firm as I frowned at her. “I didn’t co here for a battle or to argue.”

“Azrael,” she said, her voice laced with irritation as she frowned at . There was no warmth in her tone, only a guarded defensiveness. She summoned her blade back to her hand but didn’t keep it long, dismissing it with a flick of her wrist before turning away from , resuming her search as if my presence didn’t matter.

“Why are you here? Didn’t Julia co to your place?” she asked, her voice clipped, betraying the irritation she was clearly trying to hide.
