At the pavilion standing on the top of the Heartless Peak, the real Chu Wuyao sat silently on the ground with her eyes closed, looking as if she had fallen asleep.
However, this was obviously not true.
In reality, Chu Wuyao's consciousness had entered the Enlightennt Space and was coming into contact with the various Authorities.
Since Chu Wuyao broke through the Awakening Realm and found the function of the Enlightennt Space, she had spent her entire ti there, not minding the consumption of her Sin Points.
In her mind, her top priority was to understand the Cause and Effect Authority as soon as possible.
Ti quickly went by, and Chu Wuyao showed no signs of waking up.
However, just when it seed that another day would pass like this, her eyes suddenly opened.
The mont she opened her eyes, a complicated rune composed of countless black threads flashed in her gray pupils for a brief second, before it quickly disappeared.
At the sa ti, her aura fluctuated and increased a little, making it clear that her power had increased yet again.
"I've finally understood the Cause and Effect Authority...", Chu Wuyao whispered as her eyes landed on the system panel she had just brought up.
[Authorities: Cause and Effect(100%),...]
[Curse: You can use cause and effect as a dium to cast a curse. The effect of this curse depends on your strength, as well as the strength of your opponent.]
[Note: Because of your current strength, cultivators at the Nirvana Realm can sense the curse.]
Apart from the enhancent of her strength as a result of having fully understood another Aspect of the Six Paths Vision, understanding the Cause and Effect Authority had allowed Chu Wuyao to obtain one more new ability: the Curse.
"Although the Curse ability can not improve my combat power, it's actually quite useful.", she analyzed, feeling that using this ability would be very helpful in getting rid of her enemies.
Of course, Chu Wuyao didn't beco too excited, knowing that she could not jump to conclusions and had to conduct so experints and understand the effects and strength of the Curse.
Only by having the ability to threaten Awakening Realm and Supernatural Realm cultivators would the Curse ability be useful.
Thinking of this, Chu Wuyao pondered for a bit, before she took a list out of her space ring.
The list was pretty long and contained nas of so of the people she had t over the years, but surprisingly, most of the nas were crossed out with red paint.
"Who should I pick?", Chu Wuyao thought as she glanced at her blacklist.
Soon, her gaze landed on the na "Elder Fang", which was almost at the top of the list.
Chu Wuyao considered using him as a target to test her new ability, but she quickly shook her head and denied that idea.
This was partly because Elder Fang had helped her register as a true disciple and had built the Heartless Peak, and partly because Chu Wuyao didn't know his real strength.
According to the system prompt, cultivators who had reached the Nirvana Realm could sense her curses and might even have the ability to trace them back to her.
Although Elder Fang appeared to be a Supernatural Realm cultivator, Chu Wuyao hadn't forgotten that the Elder Fang she had t so far was actually his clone.
In her opinion, there was a high probability that Elder Fang's real body had reached the Nirvana Realm.
"Let's find soone else...", Chu Wuyao thought, feeling that she would spare Elder Fang's life for now.
Her eyes slowly moved down the list, and finally, she found the na of a person who she thought would be suitable.
Zhong Bai, Supernatural Realm cultivator, and elder of the Sword Palace.
Although Chu Wuyao had never t this person before, she had actually t his disciple.
From what Xia Qianyue told her, Zhong Bai was the master of Jiang Chen, the disciple of the Sword Palace who she had killed before.
Having chosen her target, Chu Wuyao no longer hesitated.
A complicated rune flashed in her pupils, and the next mont, countless black threads showed up in her field of vision, most of which wrapped around her body and bound her tightly.
Having seen this scene before, Chu Wuyao didn't show any surprise, but instead lowered her head and looked at these threads.
Imdiately, she noticed sothing.
When she had first understood the Cause and Effect Authority, all the threads of cause and effect looked exactly the sa to her, but this ti, there were a few big differences.
Chu Wuyao found that the mont her eyes landed on these threads, the identity of the person on the other end of the thread would pop up in her mind, and she could estimate their approximate power.
She knew that this change must be the result of the improvent of her understanding of the Cause and Effect Authority, as well as her own strength.
While she was happy, Chu Wuyao didn't forget her purpose.
Her gaze wandered around the black threads in her field of vision, until finally, she found the thread she was looking for.
This thread was one of the thinnest ones she had seen so far, most likely because she and Zhong Bai didn't have any entanglent with each other.
"Judging from the thickness of this thread, it's unlikely that and he will have any interaction in the future."
This made Chu Wuyao even more certain that her murder of Jiang Chen would not be found, and that Xia Qianyue must have covered for her.
However, her murderous intent didn't lessen in the slightest.
Since there was still so chance of Zhong Bai becoming her enemy in the future, she wouldn't spare his life.
With that in mind, Chu Wuyao no longer hesitated.
With a move of her mind, she cast the Curse ability, and imdiately, boundless black mist gathered in her right hand.
In the black mist, countless transparent faces with an expression that was filled with pain flashed continuously, making it look quite terrifying.
Ignoring its appearance, Chu Wuyao grasped the black mist tightly and moved her hand, pressing it on the thread that represented her connection with Zhong Bai.
"AAgh!"
The mont the black mist ca into contact with that thread, many high-pitched howls sounded, before it drilled into it.
Looking at the thread, Chu Wuyao could feel that the curse had not disappeared but was using the cause and effect between her and Zhong Bai as a ans of traveling, and it wouldn't take long for the curse to land.
Seeing this, Chu Wuyao deactivated the Curse and Effect Authority and regained her normal sight, while her mind entered her space ring and took a small talisman out.
With a move of her mind, words appeared on the surface of the talisman, as she told Xia Qianyue to pay attention to Zhong Bai's condition and inform her if anything happened.
After this, Chu Wuyao turned her attention to sothing else.
****
At the sa ti, in a well-protected room of the Sword Palace, a middle-aged man with a well-trimd beard was sitting silently on the floor and cultivating.
The middle-aged man took deep breaths and every ti he exhaled, an inexplicable oppression would spread from him, as if he were a humanoid beast.
"I've reached the peak of my current realm and can breakthrough.", Zhong Bai muttered, but his expression was sowhat complicated, mixed with both joy and sadness.
Zhong Bai was happy because he finally had the opportunity to break through and increase his lifespan and strength, but at the sa ti, he was sad because his favorite disciple and adopted son had died.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but clench his fists.
"Little Chen, don't worry. After your master breaks through, I'll make sure to find the culprit behind your death and avenge you.", Zhong Bai swore and his nails pierced through his fists from the power he used.
Feeling the pain, Zhong Bai took a few deep breaths to calm down and relaxed his body.
"It's now!", he thought, and the next mont, his aura fluctuated, increasing at a rapid speed.
At the sa ti, countless illusory swords flew out of his body and spread everywhere around him, creating a field with him at the center.
"Boom! Swoosh!"
Countless cracks ford all over the walls of the room, as even the high-level formation that protected the room could not withstand his power.
Zhong Bai didn't have the ti to care about it though, as his entire focus was on his breakthrough.
Under his control, his aura beca more and more terrifying, until it finally reached a certain limit.
"Click... Click...!"
An almost inaudible sound ca from his body, as the barrier that had blocked him for many years seed about to be broken.
However, just when Zhong Bai beca happy, feeling that his success was certain, his expression suddenly changed.
Out of nowhere, so strange black mist appeared in the room, before it rushed towards him.
The next second, the seemingly boundless black mist arrived in front of him, and drilled into his body through his mouth, ears, nose, and even his pores.
If he were to face this black mist at any other ti, with Zhong Bai's strength, he could easily defend against it.
But at the current mont, he was occupied with his breakthrough and could not put up any resistance.
As such, he was left with two choices: he could either allow the black mist to rage inside him and hope that it would not harm him, or he could terminate his breakthrough and suffer so backlash.
Although reluctant, Zhong Bai knew what choice to make.
A few seconds later, a bloody figure flew out of the center of the Sword Palace, its aura fluctuating violently.
"Who is plotting against ?! Who is it?!", a loud scream that was filled with anger spread throughout the Sword Palace, bringing terror to everyone who had yet to reach the Supernatural Realm.
