Seven Beautiful Goddesses Want Me, But I Just Want My Revenge Chapter 120: Exerting control... #13
Clearing his throat, he drew their attention. "We need to talk," Adrian began in a firm but calm voice. The goddesses paused, each turning their gaze toward him. "There's a lot at stake, and we need to be on the sa page if we're going to move forward together."
Lilith raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a playful smirk as she sauntered over and sat beside him on the bed. "Oh, Adrian, you look so serious," she teased, running a finger along his arm. "What could possibly be troubling you?"
dea shot Lilith a cold glance but said nothing, her hands tightening around the hilt of her dagger. Ava, anwhile, continued her quiet inspection of the room's treasures, though her eyes flicked toward Adrian with mild interest.
"It's not a joke, Lilith," Adrian said, brushing off her touch. "We've had problems lately—Ava, with your hoarding, dea, with your temper—and it's only a matter of ti before things get out of hand."
Lilith's smile faded slightly, but the glint in her eyes remained. dea's jaw tightened, her knuckles turning white as she gripped her dagger. Ava, finally, stopped her scavenging and turned to face him, her golden eyes narrowing.
"I take what I need," Ava simply said. "I don't see how that's a problem."
"It is a problem," dea cut in sharply. "We're supposed to be working together. If you keep taking more than your share, it puts everyone else at a disadvantage."
Ava shrugged, her indifference only fueling dea's growing anger. "If you wanted more, you should've been quicker."
dea took a step forward, her eyes burning with fury, but Adrian raised a hand, stopping her in her tracks. "Enough," he said firmly. "This isn't going to work if we're constantly at each other's throats. We need to cooperate, not compete."
Lilith, ever the instigator, leaned back on the bed, her arms folded behind her head. "Oh, co now," she purred. "A little competition keeps things interesting, don't you think? Besides, Ava's just being true to her nature. Greed, after all, is a powerful motivator."
Adrian shot her a look of exasperation. "This isn't a ga, Lilith. We have real enemies to face, and we can't afford to fall apart from within."
A heavy silence fell over the room as his words settled in.
Ava's gaze flickered with sothing unreadable, and for a mont, Adrian thought he saw a trace of guilt in her expression. But it vanished just as quickly, replaced by her usual calculated deanor.
Selene, who had been quietly watching from the corner, finally spoke up. "Adrian's right. We need to be united if we're going to succeed. Dividing ourselves over resources or power will only weaken us in the long run."
Lilith's eyes twinkled as she turned her attention to the priestess. "Oh, Selene, always the voice of reason," she said with mock affection. "Tell , how will you manage to keep such a pure heart among all this chaos?"
Selene flushed slightly but didn't waver. "By rembering why we're here---because of Lord Adrian. By rembering that this isn't just about power or greed—it's about sothing bigger."
Adrian nodded, grateful for her support. "We're here to take down the Shadow Court, to build sothing greater than ourselves. But we can't do that if we're too busy tearing each other down."
dea grunted in agreent, though her eyes remained locked on Ava, who had turned away, her fingers trailing over the gilded edge of a mirror.
"I'm not asking you to change who you are," Adrian continued, his gaze softening as he looked at each of them in turn. "But I am asking you to think about the bigger picture. We need each other. That's the only way we'll survive."
The tension in the room lingered, but Adrian could see that his words had struck a chord. Lilith as always was the first to talk, flashing him a coy smile. "Well, when you put it like that, darling," she said, "how can I resist?"
dea sheathed her dagger. "Fine," she muttered, her eyes flicking to Ava. "But I'm watching you."
Ava rely shrugged, her expression unreadable.
Adrian sighed, knowing this was the best he could hope for. For now, at least, the situation had been defused.
"Thank you," he said, glancing at each of them in turn. "Now, let's try and enjoy this night. I'm sure we can all use so rest and relaxation."
As the group prepared to have a joint bath, a sharp knock echoed through the room. Lilith was the first to spring into action, a sly grin spreading across her face.
"I'll get it," she announced, jumping up eagerly from the bed. She shot a quick, playful wink at Adrian before striding over to the door.
When she opened it, a familiar face greeted her—a young, busty maid, her cheeks flushed pink the mont she locked eyes with Lilith. The maid imdiately bowed deeply, her dark hair spilling over her shoulders as she tried to regain her composure.
"M-my lady," the maid stamred, her voice trembling with both nervousness and sothing else—sothing that Lilith recognized all too well. "I... I didn't expect to see you again."
Lilith's grin widened as she leaned casually against the doorfra, her eyes roving appreciatively over the maid's boobs straining against her maid dress. "Well, well," she purred, her voice dripping with amusent. "I rember you from last ti"
The maid's blush deepened, and she quickly nodded. "Y-yes, my lady," she murmured, her eyes darting up briefly before quickly lowering again. "It's an honor to serve you again."
Lilith chuckled softly, her gaze never leaving the maid's face. "Such a shy little thing," she mused. "What brings you here tonight?"
The maid hesitated for a mont, wringing her hands nervously before speaking. "I was asked to check on your quarters, to ensure everything was to your liking," she explained, her voice barely above a whisper. "And... to bring refreshnts, if you require anything."
Lilith's smile turned wicked as she stepped closer to the maid, her hand reaching out to gently tilt the maid's chin up so their eyes t. "How thoughtful of you," she murmured, her voice low and sultry. "But I wonder, are you offering just refreshnts, or is there sothing else you'd like to offer?"
