[The Heart of Ashkarath Forest—Unknown Location—Continuation]
Darkness...endless darkness. The ancient forest trembled; trees swayed violently despite the absence of wind, and the earth itself seed alive, breathing, watching, and waiting. Deep within the forbidden heart of the forest...the howl continued, ancient, furious, filled with grief, and filled with rage.
The cry spread through valleys and mountains alike. Every Shadow Wolf heard it, every beast stopped, and every predator lowered its head because they knew their King had awakened.
anwhile...the imperial captain stumbled backward. His sword trembled, and his breathing beca uneven. For the first ti in years...fear gripped his heart, real fear.
Not fear of battle and not fear of death. Fear of sothing ancient and sothing beyond ordinary understanding.
Then—
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
The ground shook, each impact heavier than the last. The surrounding Shadow Wolves imdiately lowered themselves, not in fear but in reverence, in loyalty and in submission.
The captain’s face paled as his voice cracked. "What...what is coming?"
Silence answered him.
Then two enormous golden eyes appeared within the darkness; the forest froze, and the heavens seed to freeze with it. Even the captain forgot how to breathe.
The eyes were ancient, older than kingdoms, older than dynasties, and older than the throne of Qashmir itself. Then a massive silhouette slowly erged, not hurried, not aggressive, because predators at the top of the world never rushed.
They never needed to; the creature finally erged from the darkness, and the captain froze completely because before him stood a wolf larger than an elephant. His fur was blacker than midnight; dark mist flowed endlessly from his body.
Ancient scars covered his enormous fra. Each scar carried a story, a battle, a war, a punishnt, and yet...none of those scars were what frightened the captain most.
It was his eyes.
They contained no madness, no blind rage, no beastly instinct—only intelligence, cold, ancient, and terrifying intelligence. The Shadow King stopped before the two dead wolves.
Silence fell.
The giant wolf lowered his head; his nose touched the fallen bodies, and a long mont passed, then another.
No howl ca, no roar followed, nothing, and sohow...that was far more frightening, then slowly...the king’s gaze rose toward the captain, toward the blood-covered sword, and toward the murderer.
The captain instinctively stepped back; the giant wolf watched him unmoving. Then finally a voice echoed through the forest, deep and ancient like mountains learning how to speak.
"You carry the scent of Qashmir." The captain froze; his blood ran cold.
The Shadow King could speak, no worse. The Shadow King spoke like a ruler, like a king, and like a judge. The captain tightened his grip on his sword, imdiately regretting it.
Then the Shadow King continued, his voice calm...too calm. "Three lunar moons ago...one of your kind slaughtered my children."
The forest trembled, ancient trees groaned, and leaves fell from branches as though the wilderness itself had lowered its head before its ruler. Around the Shadow King...hundreds of black wolves stood motionless.
Their black eyes burned within the darkness, waiting, watching, and listening. The Imperial Captain remained frozen, his sword still clutched tightly in his hand. Yet he already understood there would be no return, no escape, and no forgiveness.
The mont he stepped into this forest...his fate had already been decided. The Shadow King lowered his head toward the two fallen wolves, toward the blood soaking the sacred earth, and then his golden eyes slowly rose.
And settled upon the captain, cold, ancient, and rciless.
"And today..." His voice echoed through the valley like distant thunder. "...another one of your kind sends blood into my forest."
The captain’s heart nearly stopped because he saw it: not rage, not madness, and not grief, but judgnt. With the terrifying certainty of a king who had already reached his verdict, the Shadow King took one step forward.
The ground cracked beneath his enormous paw, and another. The surrounding wolves lowered themselves further; even the darkness seed to retreat before him.
"You murdered my children. You slaughtered my kin. You poisoned sacred lands."
The captain staggered backward; his face was pale and his breathing was uneven. The sword in his hand suddenly felt worthless and aningless.
Then the Shadow King’s voice beca quieter, far quieter, and sohow...far more terrifying.
"You all..." The forest went silent. "...shall pay the price."
The captain opened his mouth, perhaps to apologize, perhaps to beg and perhaps to explain.
But—
CRUNCH!!!
The enormous paw descended, the earth shattered, and the captain disappeared beneath it. The scream never ca, and the death was instant, rciless, and absolute.
Silence followed.
The Shadow King stared at the crushed remains beneath his paw, expressionless and unmoved. Then slowly...he lifted his gaze toward the distant horizon, toward Qashmir and toward the kingdom hidden beyond mountains and forests.
And for the first ti...sothing dark appeared within his eyes, sothing old and sothing terrible.
"The Empire..." His deep voice rolled across the valley. "...shall burn today."
The surrounding wolves growled; thousands of black eyes ignited within the darkness. The Shadow King’s claws dug into the earth.
"There shall be no rcy."
Silence.
Then—
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
The howl erupted from his throat, ancient and monstrous. A declaration of war, a sentence of death. Every Shadow Wolf imdiately answered.
HOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLL!!!
Another...and another...and another. The forest exploded with sound, thousands of howls, thousands of voices.
A storm of vengeance as the mountains echoed. The valleys trembled; even the heavens seed to shake. Then the Shadow King spoke, his voice carrying across every corner of the wilderness.
"Hunt. Leave no rcy...crush every single wolf out there. You have my permission."
The command fell, and the beasts obeyed imdiately like a black flood, like living darkness and like death itself.
The Shadow Wolves surged forward, toward Qashmir, toward blood and toward war.

[Sah’Ruh Village — The Sa Ti]
Levin was speaking with Duke Aren when—
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
The sound crashed across the village; every conversation stopped, and every villager froze. The howl felt wrong, ancient, hostile, and filled with enough hatred to make one’s blood run cold.
Levin imdiately stood, his eyes narrowed. "What was that?"
Outside...the whole village panicked. Then the earth trembled, once, twice, and three tis. Dust fell from rooftops, windows rattled and suddenly—
DONG!!!
DONG!!!
DONG!!!
The ergency bells rang violently and desperately. The entire village froze, then a terrified voice scread from the watchtower.
"ASHKARATH!" Another voice followed, louder and filled with panic. "THE ASHKARATH ARE MOVING!"
DONG!!!
DONG!!!
DONG!!!
"TO ARMS!"
"TO ARMS!"
"EVERYONE TO POSITIONS!"
Instant chaos erupted; villagers ran through the streets, and mothers grabbed their children. Hunters rushed toward weapon racks.
Soldiers sprinted toward the walls, and panic spread like wildfire. Inside the healer’s hut... Levin was already moving, his sword appeared in his hand, and his eyes had turned cold, deadly, and focused.
The warrior was gone...only the survivor remained. Duke Aren rose beside him. Zerat stepped through the doorway, his golden eyes burning.
The Pri Alpha had already sensed it: sothing had changed, sothing terrible. Then Kael burst into the area, breathing heavily.
His face was pale. "Malik!"
Silence.
"What happened?" Zerat demanded.
Kael swallowed, his voice shaking. "The entire Ashkarath Clan...is moving toward the Empire."
The room froze. Levin’s grip tightened around his sword, then Kael delivered the final blow as his voice nearly failed him.
"The scouts say...the Shadow King himself is leading them."
Silence, an absolute deadly silence. Outside...the bells continued ringing.
DONG!!!
DONG!!!
DONG!!!
And sowhere beyond the forests...a pair of ancient golden eyes stared toward Qashmir, watching, waiting and approaching.
And for the first ti in centuries...the Shadow King had co personally, not for revenge, not for justice but for war.
***
The forests shook; ancient trees bent violently as thousands upon thousands of Ashkarath surged forward like a living tide of darkness. The earth trembled beneath their paws. Mountains echoed with endless howls.
The night itself seed to retreat before them. Then the walls of Qashmir appeared and beyond those walls...the great protective barrier. A colossal do of silver light covering villages, cities, and countless lives.
The last shield protecting the empire, the Ashkarath, reached it first.
CRASH!!!
A massive black wolf slamd against the barrier; the shield trembled, and then another attacked.
And another.
And another.
BOOM!!!
BOOM!!!
BOOM!!!
The entire barrier shook violently. Inside the villages...panic erupted; won grabbed their children. Soldiers rushed toward battlents. Mages poured power into defensive formations, yet the barrier remained standing barely.
A thin crack appeared and then another, then another, but still... It held.
The Ashkarath continued attacking relentlessly and rcilessly like waves crashing against a cliff. Yet the barrier refused to fall.
Then suddenly the entire battlefield went silent. Every Ashkarath stopped. Every beast lowered its head. Even the winds ceased; a terrible silence descended.
And through that silence...sothing erged.
THUD.
The earth trembled.
THUD.
The mountains shook.
THUD.
The barrier flickered, and the Shadow King stepped forward as his enormous body towered over every beast around him.
Dark mist poured endlessly from his fur. Golden eyes burned like twin suns within the night. The Ashkarath imdiately moved aside, creating a path, creating a throne for their king.
Then the Shadow King looked at the barrier, looked at the shield protecting the empire, and looked at the kingdom that had slaughtered his children.
And his ancient eyes narrowed. The darkness surrounding him exploded. The heavens darkened, and the forest scread. Even the barrier began trembling.
The Shadow King slowly raised one enormous paw, and for a brief mont...the world seed to stop breathing.
Then—
SLAM!!!
The paw struck; the impact sounded like a mountain collapsing.
CRAAAAAAAAACK!!!
The barrier shattered, not cracked, not weakened—shattered. Silver light exploded across the sky. Fragnts of magic rained upon the earth. The shield protecting Qashmir disappeared instantly.
Every wolf inside the Empire froze. Every soldier felt despair. Every mage stared in horror because the impossible had just happened.
The barrier was gone..pletely gone. The Shadow King stepped through the falling fragnts of light like death itself walking through broken stars.
Then he lifted his head toward the empire, toward every city, every village, every noble, and every ruler.
And his roar shook the heavens.
"YOU ALL SHALL PAY THE PRICE FOR KILLING MY CHILDREN!"
The mountains answered, the forests answered, and the Ashkarath answered.
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL!!!
Thousands of Shadow Wolves howled together, a declaration of war, a sentence of death, and a promise of destruction, and as the Shadow King advanced toward Qashmir...the Empire finally realized...Judgnt had arrived long before the Lunar Moon.
