Chapter 27: Chapter 25: None... None Show Any Signs...

Boom!

The soldier raised his Barrett without hesitation and fired a shot in the direction of Kami.

Zheng~

The splendid sword light illuminated the surroundings, and the massive bullet of the Barrett was instantly cut in half and deeply embedded into the ground.

A coldness appeared on Kami’s beautiful face, and at the mont the soldier drew his sword, her figure disappeared instantly.

The powerful sword intent caused all the surrounding longswords to tremble, as if ti itself froze within the wind and snow.

Mosen, riding atop the Demon Lion, watched his own quivering blade with a hint of astonishnt in his eyes. It seed he hadn’t expected the young lady’s sword intent to affect his weapon.

As the sword light rapidly dissipated, Kami looked down at the soldier lying by her feet and asked coldly, "Speak, who are you?"

Bright crimson blood flowed from the soldier’s limbs, and his broken longsword lay next to his head as he convulsed uncontrollably.

All of his once smug arrogance, which scoffed at the world, was crushed by absolute power. Listening to the question, he could only groan lowly without uttering a word.

The transcendent beings around them looked at Kami with eyes full of admiration. This was the young lady of the Will Clan, a top swordsman at the age of twenty-three, a super genius within the Federation.

The Demon Lion under Mosen halted its steps, just as he was about to speak, Kami’s cold voice rang out: "Ernado, make him talk."

"Understood." Ernado nodded, with nacing energy pulsating around him as a magic inscription descended from the void onto the soldier.

A spell called "Consciousness Manipulation" began to take effect.

Kami asked again, coldly: "Who are you?"

The soldier lying on the ground in utter disarray ceased to tremble, his eyes hollow. Upon hearing the question, he instinctively responded, "Sai’er, Level 30 Swordsman, from the Capital City, I am... uh..."

His chanical voice had only reached this point when a surge of dark energy suddenly erupted from him, and before anyone could react, he died instantly.

Kami, Ernado, and Mosen were simultaneously stunned, a grave look flashing in their eyes — was this... the obliteration of a soul?

This seed very much like a restrictive asure employed by a powerful entity; when a certain dium is triggered, the soul would be directly obliterated.

However, such a cruel thod was rarely used, and the Federation expressly forbade it. If it were discovered, it would warrant the annihilation of a family, regardless of who they were.

The fear was that so civilian genius would just co into prominence and be enslaved by others.

Seeing such thods rooted in the soul here, the three imdiately thought that so evil organization was infiltrating their ranks, with unknown purposes.

Moreover, this organization’s thods were extrely cruel, and its power was not insignificant.

Mosen’s gaze turned sharp as he looked around and instructed calmly, "All warriors, conduct self-inspection, Encryption Order for Holy Water!"

Behind him, the two Silver Beastman brothers exchanged glances and imdiately took out walkie-talkies to start issuing commands.

Amidst the blizzard, soldiers followed orders strictly, with each dipping their hands into the holy water typically reserved for inspecting civilians, under the supervision of their squad leaders.

Each squad leader would recite a complex password; these passwords were all different, yet the soldiers’ responses were unusually fluent.

Especially the soldiers of Wu City Army, as part of the City Defense Army, preventing infiltration was their first rule.

In this era of technology, orders were transmitted exceptionally quickly, with over fifty thousand people, including mbers of the Will Clan and the Apocalypse Legion conducting self-inspections with great speed, the holy water’s coldness sending chills through the soldiers.

Listening to the voices over the walkie-talkie, Garrett and Magat showed grim expressions, realizing what this ant.

As the elder, Garrett braced himself and stepped forward, his voice slightly trembling as he said, "Legion Commander, there is... no one... unusual..."

Buzz~

The mighty magic power of the Demon Swordsman made the raging blizzard abruptly pause. He looked up at the sky, murderous intent in his eyes unmasked.

The mysterious organization had already infiltrated the ranks of the Will Clan, yet those weaker and more dispersed at the periphery were all actually normal.

This situation itself was abnormal!

But now they had no idea about the ans of enslavent by the opponent, let alone find a targeted thod.

There must be more than just one... if there’s enslavent, then there must be an enslaver, daring to breach laws within his city would result in capture and death.

"Miss, he has no abnormalities on him, no signs of disguise or modification, he might really be Captain Sai’er."

At this mont, a lean soldier beside Kami stood up and answered in a low voice.

Kami’s gaze deepened; she asked coldly, "Who was that person who just died?"

With his head lowered, the soldier answered softly, "He was also one of us, but he was not injured by a sword. A brief examination suggests that he was poisoned or cursed, and he is only unconscious, not dead. I inquired, and the Barrett was originally supposed to target that spy; however, for so reason, it was aid at you instead, perhaps by... coincidence?"

In Kami’s mind, a smiling young face appeared subconsciously, but she quickly disregarded it.

Because Baiyi had no motive to do such a thing, his fa was large, and his future was bound to be smooth sailing; whether as a death warrior or as a reminder, he had no reason to take risks.

"Legion Commander...." Boom!

Kami’s voice had just started when a familiar explosive sound interrupted her.

She and Mosen turned their heads simultaneously and saw, imdiately, at the periphery, a soldier trembling all over, eyes filled with terror, aiming his gun at an assassin holding a dagger.

That assassin, clad all in white, looked like a ghost camouflaged within the wind and snow, with exceedingly skillful stealth techniques.

Most importantly, yet another Bronze Peak! A Level 30 assassin, no less.

"Roar~"

A lion’s roar resounded, as Mosen lightly tapped the lion’s head, and magic power flashed wildly in the sky, the massive sword on his back swiftly drawing out, sweeping above.

Seizing the sword’s hilt in midair, Mosen crossed a thousand ters in an instant and stabbed down ferociously.

Clang~

A light sound echoed as the half-ter-wide giant blade instantly plunged into the snow and below into the stone surface.

But the assassin was already gone.

Mosen turned his head leftwards towards a wooden house; the recent magic fluctuations seed to indicate that there was a teleportation array beneath the house!

He glanced upwards again, t with a constant snowstorm, frowning as he had felt a sense of being watched while airborne.

Yet a series of death warriors appearing was enough to make him ignore this sense of being watched.

He gestured towards the house, signaling with his hand; a squad of about thirty soldiers imdiately lifted their Barrett rifles, followed by over ten mbers of the Mage Corps, slowly advancing towards the wooden house.

anwhile, he turned around and asked the soldier who had narrowly escaped death earlier, "Tell

how you discovered that assassin."

"Yes, Legion Commander."

The soldier’s trembling had ceased by now, for the terror of death couldn’t stop him from fulfilling orders, as it was the first rule upon joining the Apocalypse Legion.

"I am Taini, Captain of the Micro-Light Squad. A minute ago, I sensed danger behind , turned around, and saw soone rapidly charging at . Due to the current ergency military situation, I abided by warti orders and unhesitatingly launched my most fierce attack against the unknown entity posing a threat to . Report completed!"

Mosen nodded, silently lifted his gaze skyward, realizing this operation might involve... more than three parties, making everything even more complicated.
