The Mysterious Turtle was indifferent to Magic Artifacts and Storage Bags, letting them fall into the river and be buried at the bottom. Such treasures buried here constituted a trendous waste. As a neighbor, Jia Ren felt he should help clean up the river waste and restore its clarity.

Within the Insect Breeding Room, hundreds of Qing Shui Spiders mobilized and headed toward the Mysterious Turtle’s location. As they traveled, they cast nets, swiftly searching for anything usable. If they encountered the Mysterious Turtle, they would find a place to hide and keep their distance. They scavenged at the bottom of the river, looking for treasures. Qing Shui Spiders were one of the Mysterious Turtle’s food sources. Despite their caution, many were still eaten by the turtle. They only dared to move around the periphery of the Mysterious Turtle’s habitat, so their haul was limited.

Fortunately, two Foundation Establishnt Cultivators had died on the outskirts, and their Storage Bags were successfully salvaged and brought back. Jia Ren remained safely in his Cave, refining artifacts, while the water spiders continuously delivered the retrieved Storage Bags outside his Cave. Most of the Storage Bags were old and covered in sludge; who knew how long they had been buried at the bottom of the river. Having been there for many years, their inscriptions were severely faded, and the restrictive enchantnts had nearly collapsed.

Jia Ren had no ti to examine these unexpected gains, as he was busy experinting with the replicated Talisman Wings. The Talisman Wings were nearly identical to the Ancient Talisman Wings, a ninety-percent likeness. When Jia Ren tried on the new Talisman Wings to test them, only a series of afterimages could be seen in the Refining Workshop. Twelve Featherweight Talismans could exert twice the effect of a single Featherweight Talisman, but the difference from the Ancient Talisman Wings was significant. The replicated Talisman Wings amplified the talismans’ power too weakly; there was an obvious gap compared to the genuine article.

The consumption rate of talismans by the Ancient Talisman Wings was still too slow, and refilling them with new talismans was also troubleso. In battle, there are no halfti breaks; enemies will not give you ti to refill talismans. The number of tis Talisman Wings could be used in combat was limited; most could only be used once. Their impracticality must have been why Talisman artifacts gradually waned.

How to solve this?

Should I create Talisman artifacts that suit ?

The Talisman Wings were the work of ancient cultivators, whose artifact-crafting philosophy differed significantly from his. Jia Ren was not content with this item.

How should it be modified?

More quantity, stronger power, broader impact area, and long-duration continuous use...

As thoughts circled in his mind, he considered rapidly consumable Magic Artifacts.

I could craft disposable Talisman artifacts to avoid the hassle of refilling talismans.

Disregarding continuous use, instantly detonating twelve Banishing Evil Talismans would inflict maximum damage on the enemy. In critical monts against Bizarre Demons and cultivators, their power would be significant. If durability wasn’t a concern, the requirents for refining materials and Inscriptions would both decrease, making materials for Low-Quality Magic Artifacts sufficient. This type of Talisman artifact was simple to make and highly practical. Its only drawback was its high consumption rate and material waste. Indeed, it was a good solution.

Jia Ren was not a cultivator who favored combat, so his consumption rate of Magic Artifacts and talismans wasn’t high. Durability was indeed sothing that needed to be considered. However, survival was more important. Spirit Stones could be earned again, but life, once lost, was gone for good. Such Talisman artifacts could be mass-produced. This didn’t an Jia Ren would give up on making regular Talisman artifacts. He needed to pursue both approaches vigorously. One approach focused on victory through quantity, the other on overcoming enemies with quality.

Disposable Talisman artifacts sparked even more ideas in him. Thinking more broadly and actively, Jia Ren considered Talisman Formations! The combination of talismans and artifacts had given birth to treasures like the Ancient Talisman Wings; this was the crystallization of the Path of Charms and the Path of Artifact Crafting. There was no reason talismans and Formations couldn’t combine to create special Talisman Formations. Talisman Formations would be more practical than Talisman artifacts, their area of effect far exceeding what Talisman artifacts could achieve. Combining both would bring about unexpected new changes.

There might be similar legacies within the Formation Path, but unfortunately, the Formation Path legacy Jia Ren had obtained was too superficial and lacked such knowledge. To acquire knowledge of Talisman Formations, the best thod was to join the Town Demon Alliance, prove his value, and rise through the ranks. The other was to draw inspiration from Talisman artifacts and attempt to create entirely new Talisman Formations himself. The forr approach ant being reliant on others, with gains dependent on their goodwill. The latter was a long and arduous path, requiring extensive research ti.

Setting Talisman Formations aside for now, his priority was to create disposable Talisman artifacts. This wasn’t difficult. By referencing the core activation Inscription of the Talisman Wings and disregarding long-term durability, the requirents for material quality and the number of Inscriptions could be greatly reduced. In less than half a day, using the most common materials, he crafted a consumable Magic Artifact.

Jia Ren toyed with a fist-sized pellet in his hand. Faint Inscriptions flashed on its surface. When opened, it revealed twelve compressed Banishing Evil Talismans inside. The Magic Artifact’s Inscriptions could store Spiritual Power. Upon activation, this stored power would instantly trigger the twelve Banishing Evil Talismans, unleashing their full might.

"From now on, your na shall be ’Fu Wan’."

Fu Wan was straightforward and easy to understand. The talismans it could be filled with were not limited to Banishing Evil Talismans; defensive Gold Jade Talismans, speed-enhancing Divine Wind Talismans, and attacking Firebird Talismans could all be used. All sorts of talismans could be triggered through the Fu Wan, with the amount of pre-stored Spiritual Power varying according to the talismans’ grade. Lastly, the cost of making a Fu Wan was a concern. However, its small size ant it only used one-third of the materials required for a normal Low-Quality Magic Artifact. The expense was still within an acceptable range.

Let’s test the effect.

Jia Ren raised his hand and threw out the Fu Wan containing the Banishing Evil Talismans. It detonated mid-air, the twelve talismans erupting into a thunderous blast of twelve clusters of Burning Evil Fla. The Refining Workshop was entirely engulfed by crimson waves of Burning Evil Fla, its power astonishing.

Not bad!

The range is more than sufficient, but the power is lacking.

Jia Ren then experinted with Featherweight Talismans, but the result was disappointing. The wind force was scattered and conflicting, at best achieving only three and a half tis the normal effect.

Shall I try another Inscription?

There were other Inscriptions within the Ancient Talisman Wings, far more complex than the first type. These demanded higher-quality materials for Magic Artifacts, so Jia Ren had discarded them due to cost concerns. Now it seed the second type might be more useful.

Abandon the first type?

Should I design two types of Fu Wan?

First-Order Fu Wan will follow a chaotic approach, winning by numbers. The advantage is an ample supply for sustained Spell bombardnt.

Second-Order Fu Wan will be more demanding and fewer in number, exclusively for high-tier talismans. They will seek to amalgamate the power of multiple talismans to enhance single-target lethality.

This way, he could utilize both systems. He could choose between First or Second-Order Fu Wan depending on the strength of his enemies.

Jia Ren began Artifact Refining, creating Second-Order Fu Wan. The requirents and restrictions for Second-Order Fu Wan were much higher. The Magic Artifact quality was comparable to High-Grade. The material cost for each Second-Order Fu Wan was equivalent to one-third of a High-Grade Magic Artifact. Thus, using three of them equated to consuming one High-Grade Magic Artifact’s worth of materials, plus thirty-six Second-Tier Talismans. The amplified power of the talismans was satisfactory. It was far more potent than the power unleashed by the Ancient Talisman Wings, at least double. This was the difference between the Talisman Wings and Second-Order Fu Wan.

The Ancient Talisman Wings, designed for durability and long-term use, had Inscriptions etched within them to buffer the simultaneous activation of twelve talismans, reducing the load on the wings themselves. The result was that the power unleashed by the multiple talismans had not reached its full potential. The Second-Order Fu Wan, however, removed such buffering Inscriptions and replaced them with explosive-type Inscriptions, striving to maximize the combined power of the twelve simultaneously detonated talismans. They were amplified without restriction, their power becoming truly incomparable to before. This was only the initial batch of Second-Order Fu Wan. Once his Proficiency Level increased, their power could be enhanced even further.

Let’s go and test the effect.

Second-Order Fu Wan were not filled with First-Order Talismans, but with Second-Order Firebird Talismans, typically used by Foundation Establishnt Cultivators. Since obtaining the Heavenly Talisman Treasure Mirror, Jia Ren had focused on Second-Order Low-grade Divine Wind Talismans, raising his Proficiency Level to Master Level. He had only recently begun learning Second-Order Low-grade Firebird Talismans, so their quality was still diocre, making them perfect for this experint.

I need to find a secluded area to test.

The Banishing Evil Talisman, used against Bizarre Demons, posed no threat to cultivators and wouldn’t cause a great commotion. The Firebird Talisman, however, was a Second-Order Talisman. When twelve of them were triggered by a Second-Order Fu Wan, they would unleash formidable power—sothing even the protective Formations around his Cave wouldn’t withstand. Jia Ren didn’t want to destroy his Cave and attract trouble, so it was better to find another location for the test. He assigned this task to his Insect External Incarnation; his true body would simply await the results.

The Qing Shui Spiders delivered the spoils from ’clearing the riverbed’ into the Refining Workshop. Three of the Storage Bags looked quite new. Several others had clearly been in the river for so ti. Luckily, none of the Storage Bags were damaged, and the treasures within were still intact. Jia Ren glanced over them briefly, deliberately placing these three Storage Bags to his left. These three Storage Bags—two new and one old—had all belonged to Foundation Establishnt Cultivators and held the most value. The remaining nine Storage Bags were far inferior; their combined contents couldn’t compare to the wealth of a single Foundation Establishnt Cultivator.

In total, there were 229 dium-grade Spirit Stones, 33,114 Low-grade Spirit Stones, and three Fragnted Spirit Stones. There were also three bottles of Blood Demon Pills, one bottle of Flesh Reunion Pills, one bottle of unknown Elixirs, three Blood Evil Talismans, seven Blood Ghost Talismans, a large quantity of Demonic Beast Materials, and several hundred-year-old Spiritual dicines.

Thanks to the ’gift’ from the neighbor.

The total wealth wasn’t substantial, but it was an unexpected windfall, so there was no reason to complain. This allowed his depleted funds to recover slightly, enough to cover the cost of producing more Second-Order Fu Wan.

In the ti it takes to drink a cup of tea, the Insect External Incarnation had already traveled hundreds of miles away to test the Second-Order Fu Wan.

BOOM!

The twelve Firebird Talismans within the Second-Order Fu Wan ignited, coalescing into an imnse firebird cluster that scorched everything in its path and left behind a pitch-black crater dozens of yards wide.

What imnse power!

Jia Ren’s eyes blazed with excitent. The Firebird Talisman Pill, created by combining twelve Firebird Talismans in a Second-Order Fu Wan, had elevated their collective power to be on par with a single Second-Order High-grade Talisman. If multiple Second-Order Fu Wan were launched simultaneously, their power would be even more formidable; even Golden Core Cultivators would have to retreat a considerable distance.

The future looks promising!

If Second-Order Firebird Talisman Pills already possess such power, what about those made with higher-quality talismans and Fu Wan?

Considering that his proficiency with both Firebird Talismans and Second-Order Fu Wan was still low, there was imnse potential yet to be tapped. This would undoubtedly beco a significant weapon in his arsenal. The Firebird Talisman Pill was highly desirable, but its only flaw was... it burned through Spirit Stones at an alarming rate. Each use cost twelve Middle-Order Talisman Scrolls and the Fu Wan itself, which was like a consumable High-Grade Magic Artifact. The cost was just too high! Even Sect Disciples from a prominent sect like the Five Elents Sect would shake their heads and walk away upon witnessing his lavish combat tactics. Even the poorest cultivators would weep at such extravagance.

The Fu Wan you’re using to kill might be worth more than I am!

With the plan successful, Jia Ren prepared for the mass production of Second-Order Fu Wan. They would beco a nightmare for his enemies.
