After passing over the remainder of the firing process to Blake, I leaned back in my chair and let out a sigh of relief. It’s been a while now that I’ve wanted to get rid of those three.
I glanced over at the hidden door that led to Leslie’s office.
I wonder what she’s up to now?
Just as I was about to pay her a visit, my phone rang. Initially, I felt slightly annoyed, but seeing that it was Zachary, I figured he had sothing important.
"Hey, man. How was your trip? I just wanted to give you an update on that auction house situation."
"The trip went well, let’s hear it," I replied.
"Well, the activity from the port only increased. There are many more people coming and going out of the auction house, especially at night. There have also been many large shipnt containers delivered recently."
I listened to his descriptions with seriousness. It sounded like sothing big was going on, but to my knowledge, there weren’t any scheduled events.
"Have you looked to see if there were any auction events planned? Anything that could explain the activity?"
"Yes, I looked into it, and there’s nothing. They’re next event is scheduled for two months from now. It’s written on their website and I called to ask about it directly," he said.
"Interesting. It’s a bit early to have all of this activity for an event that’s only scheduled two months from now. Anything else?" I asked.
"Not anything significant. I’m still trying my best to follow that creepy guy around, but so far it’s proven difficult. He seems to know a thing or two about keeping a low profile," said Zach.
"That or the Moresi’s just have contacts all over, helping them maintain a cover. Good work, keep it up. I’ll have that car prepared for you soon."
Zach let out a cheerful laugh on the other side of the phone, "Heck, yeah! Thanks, man!"
"I’ve got so work to do, I’ll talk to you later," I said and hung up the phone.
All of the information that Zach gave ran through my mind.
They’re preparing for sothing, sothing big. How can I get my way in on that?
As I sat, lost in thought, Blake returned to my office.
"Sir, everything has been taken care of. Their termination has been finalized by HR," he said. As he walked inside, he pushed in a small cart of food. Everything was stacked neatly on top of a silver tray.
"Thank you, Blake. Leave the tray on the table, I’ll take care of the rest."
He nodded and excused himself after moving the tray to the table, "Let know if there’s anything else."

After Blake left, I didn’t waste anyti. It was already well passed noon, and I knew that Leslie didn’t eat breakfast this morning.
An oversight on my part.
I picked up the tray and carried it over to the pocket door that led into her office. I gently knocked on the door and stepped inside.
She was sitting elegantly at her desk, donning a soft smile. She looked like she had just finished typing and looked at with excitent.
"Hey, I guessed that you didn’t eat. Co, let’s take a short break for lunch," I said as I placed the tray of food on the table.
"Perfect timing!" she exclaid and walked over to the table beside .
We both sat down on the couch in her office and began to fill our plates with food. Leslie picked up a little bit of everything and quickly filled her plate like a little squirrel. She was so adorable that I couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
We took our ti enjoying the al. We didn’t get to talk much throughout the day, so we ended up discussing everything that happened that morning.
"I just finished drafting up the contract for the auction house. I plan on sending it out today, to give them ti to prepare for the event," she said cheerfully. I could tell that she was happy of how the project was going so far.
I reached out to take a bite of my food, but suddenly my hand froze.
Wait, this season launch is the perfect opportunity to get into the auction house. If we ti it correctly, then they won’t have enough ti to move all of the evidence out!
I looked at her, "Could I ask that you delay sending out the notice? I want to wait as long as possible before notifying your family about the event."
She glanced at , visibly confused at my strange request.
I wanted to tell her. Tell her everything that I had planned, tell her about how my mother’s death was tied to her family. Tell her about what really brought the Moresi family their wealth.
Now is not the right ti.
There was no evidence, so if I were to tell her these crazy accusations against her family, she would demand evidence to believe . Instead of telling her, I needed to show her.
"Sure, I can hold off for a few days," she answered after a short delay. I could see that she had her doubts and concerns.
She chose to trust .
My heart ward. I was grateful for her trust. Even though she visibly had her doubts, instead of questioning , she simply agreed.
"Thank you, Leslie. One day I’ll explain everything to you."
She smiled at and nodded her head before continuing to eat her food.
I promise, I won’t let you down.

After we ate, I cleaned up the remaining food.
"What are your plans for the rest of the day?" I asked, trying to gauge how much ti we had left together.
"I’m eting with Yulia for most of the afternoon. We’re finalizing the gem cuts and altering a few designs to fit the new gems," she said cheerfully. "Are you sure you don’t want to see?"
"I’m looking forward to the surprise. If I see them now, I’ll be tempted to keep all of the pieces and gift them to you," I said, lifting her dainty chin up with my hand.
The most beautiful shade of pink appeared on her cheeks. She looked up at with sparkling eyes.
I couldn’t help myself and leaned over to place a kiss on her lips.
"Have I ever told you that you’re the most beautiful woman in the entire world?"
