"She wouldn’t dare."
My breath caught in my throat. I could see the seriousness behind his words in his eyes.
Why did he even agree to marry Morgan if he has such negative feelings towards her?
Many questions popped up in my mind while my heart swelled with bliss. It felt good to be stood up for, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t want more.
Just talk to my dad and.....marry instead.
I felt my body shake at the thought. I looked directly at Christian, wondering why he didn’t simply swap brides?
If he’s marrying to benefit from my family, then it didn’t matter which sister he married...unless there was more to it than t the eye.
He’s clearly a smart person. Surely he’s not doing all of this for fun.
I opened my mouth to ask, but quickly decided to leave it.
It will beco evident in ti. I would rather have him tell on his own.
-
"Co, let’s discuss the project you’re in charge of. I can’t wait for you to stun the executives with your innovative thinking", he said, leading to his desk while holding my hand.
He walked over and sat down in his chair, pulling over to sit on his lap.
"This is the docunt with all of the information. Essentially, it’s what our Sophia stores will carry as a limited seasonal launch for next season", explained Christian as he pointed to the computer screen.
I stared at the screen, looking at the familiar logo on the computer.
"Do you an that you own the most sought-after jewelry brand ’Sophia’?" I asked.
Sophia was an internationally recognized jewelry brand with stores all over the world. Each piece of jewelry they sell is ticulously crafted by the top talents of our country.
I blinked, not believing my eyes.
"Oh, so you’re familiar with the brand?" asked Christian.
My eyes widened as I turned to face him, "Of course I’m familiar with it! Anyti there’s a new collection out, my mother goes crazy!"
He smiled up at , "Well, it’s your turn to make your mother go crazy. You’ll be coming up with the details of the next collection."
I looked back at the computer screen, reading the words in the docunt carefully. The weight of this project was finally settling in, and I couldn’t fathom why Christian would assign sothing so important to without a second thought.
As I was lost in thought, his hands wrapped around my waist, pulling into a kind of backwards hug.
"Don’t feel pressured. I want you to have fun with it, don’t worry about anything else."
Don’t worry? This ’fun’ project could potentially cost you millions!
I nervously twirled my fingers as I continued to read the docunt in front of . On one hand, this was a dream of mine, but on the other, I was scared that I would cause Christian heavy losses if I ssed up.
As if reading my mind, Christian squeezed once more, "Based on your earlier assessnt of the proposals, I’m confident that you’ll do great. Who knows, you might make so much money that I’ll have to spend the rest of my life repaying you".
His llow voice and soothing chuckle helped calm my nerves. I had always been at the top of my class in school, and I was finally given an opportunity to use my skills.
I nodded, "You’re right. I’ll do my best on this project! I will make this one of the most successful season launches Sophia has ever had!"
We both laughed before I went over to my office to get started. It was refreshing to work on a computer that wasn’t actively monitored by my parents and allowed to focus on research instead of propriety.
It only took a few minutes for to be completely absorbed into my work, not noticing that Christian brought his laptop over and did his work from the sofa in my office.
When I finally looked up, I couldn’t help but laugh. The mysterious Christian Vittoria was sitting comfortably on a pink velvet sofa, working diligently on his laptop.
"What’s so funny?" he smiled, looking up from his laptop.
"Nothing," I smiled back, shaking my head, "The sofa suits you."
"Mmm, if that’s the case, then I’ll just have to spend more ti sitting on it", he said with a captivating smile that made my heart race.
I looked at the ti on the bottom of my computer screen and noticed that I only had a few minutes left before my driver would call down.
"What’s wrong? why the heavy sigh?" asked Christian, walking over to .
"Oh, it’s nothing. I just don’t want to go back ho", I said with a ek smile.
Christian leaned over and kissed my cheek. "Then stay here with ."
If only you knew how much I would like that.
"I’d love to, but you know that I can’t. I don’t want to risk my father banning from returning here."
"Yes, that would be horrible. I’d miss you too much," said Christian.
I didn’t let him pull away and kissed him. My lips pressed against his, conveying all of the reluctance I had to part with him.
I don’t want to go. I don’t want this day to end.
Christian responded with a similar fervor. We both allowed our bodies to communicate our deep reluctance to go our separate ways, even if it was for only a short while.
We continued to kiss until I felt the cell phone in my pocket buzz.
"It’s most likely the driver. I should get going", I whispered.
"Allow to walk you down", said Christian, opening the door to the hallway.
As we approached the elevator, I turned to the small mirror that was hanging on the wall.
"How do I look?"
"Like the most beautiful flower in the entire world", said Christian.
The complint made blush, "Thank you, but I ant, is there anything off about my appearance from when I first arrived? My mother is going to inspect when I co ho."
"You’re as beautiful as you were this morning. No, I think even more beautiful."
The mont the elevator door opened, Christian pulled inside and pushed against the wall.
"This is how beautiful you are. You make lose all of my control", he said as he pressed his body against so that I could clearly feel how hard he was.
His openness about his desire for made want to pull my dress up and beg him to put it in. Unfortunately, we were already more than halfway down to the ground level.
Christian kissed a few tis before pulling away, to give him so ti for his erection to settle. Before we knew it, the elevator doors opened once again, bringing back to the familiar lobby.
"When you co in tomorrow, use the key card to head straight upstairs. I’ve authorized you for my elevator," he said.
We walked out of the lobby to where the driver was waiting for . Christian kept a respectful distance as he walked beside .
The driver stepped out and opened the back door for .
"Second Miss," he greeted respectfully.
I nodded at the driver and turned back to bow to Christian. "Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Vittoria."
Christian smiled back, nodding. "Please send my regards to your sister."
I noticed the driver flash a look of approval and knew that Christian’s words would reach my father.
After a short nod, I got into the car.
-
"How was your day, Miss? Did anything interesting happen?" the driver asked as we drove out of the city.
Mmm, probing are we?
"It was very pleasant. All of my coworkers were very kind and made feel welco," I replied.
Christian certainly did make feel welco.
