"They’re all safe in the hospital now. Don’t worry about them and go take care of that other task you said you had," said Zach over the phone.

I let out a small sigh of relief knowing that they made it out safely.

"Tell your uncle I said thanks. There aren’t a lot of people I can trust to handle this kind of thing, especially after what I just saw," I replied.

"For sure, man, my uncle is reviewing the footage you sent over now. It doesn’t look good. There will most likely be a huge internal audit at the police headquarters thanks to what you told us."

I humd in reply. Zach’s uncle was second in command at the police station. Right now, he was the only person I could trust with this matter.

"Okay, keep updated," I said and hung up.

My car was already parked in front of the Moresi mansion. I drove over as soon as I passed along the information to Zach after the event.

I placed my phone in my pocket and took off my mask, jacket, and any over-the-top accessories I had on, leaving a fairly standard black suit on. Now that I knew that the captives were all in a safe and secure environnt, my focus changed to Leslie.

I couldn’t wait another mont, and though it was later in the evening, I just had to see her.

With long strides, I made my way over to the front door. The greeter opened the door for imdiately.

"Welco in, Mr. Vittoria."

I gave him a curt nod and walked in, heading straight for the hallway with Leslie’s bedroom. But the mont I walked past the living room, I felt sothing tug against my arm.

"Christian! What a wonderful surprise!" Morgan purred as she gripped her hands around my arm.

"Hello, Morgan," I said with a deadpan expression. All I wanted was to see Leslie.

"What brings you here today?" she asked as she dragged into the living room.

I hesitated for a mont, "I’m actually here to see Leslie. It’s a company matter."

Morgan pouted. "Her? Let guess, she made a big mistake and you’re here to yell at her."

I glanced at her but didn’t answer. This was the first ti that I’ve seen Morgan since her attempt to drug , and let’s just say looking at her now was less than pleasant.

Morgan was completely oblivious to my cold attitude towards her and continued to babble on. "Unfortunately, she’s out on a hot date with her fiancé. I even heard they planned to stay the night." She turned to face with misty eyes, "You can spend the night with tonight."

I hardly kept the surge of anger back. Even the suggestive comnt she made didn’t bother .

What?! Leslie is where?

My heart raced with fear. I abruptly turned and placed my hands on Morgan’s shoulders.

"What did you say? What hotel are they at?!" I asked, not bothering to hide my urgency.

"Why does that matter?" she grumbled. "I’m pretty sure it was Seven Moons Hotel..."

But before I could get up from the couch, she lounged over at , and straddled on top of .

"Enough about her, I’m starting to get jealous. Spend so ti with . I missed you so much," she wined as she curled her arms around my neck.

She was sitting on top of like a koala, refusing to let go.

"Morgan, let go. I need to go. It’s important," I said, doing my best to speak with her civilly. Every part of just wanted to rip her off and throw her on the ground without looking back. But the last shred of rationality held in place.

"No. I don’t want to. Let be willful with you this once."

"Morgan. Let go."

My patience was slowly wearing thin. I knew Leslie was in danger, and if I didn’t leave now, it might be too late. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and began to pull Morgan off ; however, she only gripped around even harder.

"Morgan. I’m not playing gas. Get off!" I said, raising my voice.

She shook her head. "I’ll only let go if you agree to get married by the end of the month!"

What?

"Morgan!" I shouted again.

"Say it! Say you’ll marry this month!" she retaliated.

I was so angry that I was ready to break sothing; however, I knew that I couldn’t touch Morgan. The panic inside of was rising, and the clock was ticking. All I cared about now was to get over to where Leslie was.

"Fine."

Morgan lifted her head and looked directly into my eyes. The excitent from my answer made her blind to the furious expression on my face.

I didn’t reply, only giving her one final push. "Get. Off."

"Ahh! I need to go tell Mother! I’m so excited!" she squealed and ran out of the room.

I took this mont of freedom to run out of the house.

Please be okay, Leslie. I’m coming.

The tires of my car left marks on the driveway as I floored it out of the neighborhood. I drove like a madman all the way into the city. Thankfully, I was very familiar with the Seven Moon’s Hotel and didn’t have any trouble finding it.

I gripped the steering wheel, trying to suppress my trembling hands. Karl chose tonight of all nights to make his move on Leslie. I couldn’t stand it.

Zach’s been monitoring his movents for a while now, but since Zach was on standby for , we let him slip out of our view.

The mont I arrived at the hotel, I left the car running in front of the main entrance, refusing to waste even a mont by turning it off or parking properly. Any fines, or even if the car got towed or stolen, didn’t matter to as much as Leslie’s safety.

I ran up to the main reception desk, cutting the line.

"Karl Farina. I need to know what room he’s in right now." I said, slapping a wad of cash on the counter in front of .

The receptionist’s eyes lit up at the sight of the money, but she hesitated slightly. "Sir, we have protocol..."

I pulled out my card. "I’m a VIP mber of this hotel. In fact, I can buy this entire hotel chain with the snap of my fingers. I don’t have ti. Tell what room."

She was slightly startled by my urgency, but nodded after seeing the black card in my hands.

"He’s in 414. Here’s a keycard."

"Thanks," I said and ran over to the elevators.
