As soon as An Junxi showed signs of movent, Gu Yikun woke up. He hurriedly called the doctor, breaking the calm of the hospital in the middle of the night, with dical staff constantly entering and exiting the delivery room.

This was An Junxi’s second child, and the pain during labor was still very intense. By dawn, she was drenched in cold sweat.

Gu Yikun was extrely anxious beside her, unable to do anything except repeatedly ask the doctor, "When can we go into the delivery room?"

The doctor replied, "The cervix is not dilated enough yet; it needs to open to at least three fingers wide to get onto the delivery bed. Mr. Gu, please feed your wife so food first."

An Junxi could eat nothing, but Gu Yikun coaxed her into drinking a bowl of sugar water. "Xi Xi, you need to eat sothing to have strength later."

Just as dawn broke, Mr. An and Mrs. An arrived. Seeing her parents made An Junxi want to cry, "Mom, it still hurts so much."

Mrs. An’s eyes were moist as she held her daughter’s hand. "You’re a mother now, you have to be strong. The baby will et you very soon."

Gu Yikun helped wipe the sweat from his wife’s forehead, his hands trembling uncontrollably. "Xi Xi, it’s okay, I’m here with you."

After enduring for another two hours, the doctor finally said they could go into the delivery room.

Gu Yikun specially arranged for several female doctors for his wife. As An Junxi lay on the delivery bed, the pain intensified, draining the color from her face. "Yi Ke, I’m so scared..."

The doctors and nurses were sternly prepared. Gu Yikun agonized by the bedside, willing to endure this pain for his wife if he could.

The delivery process was relatively smooth. An Junxi’s insistence on exercising before childbirth made her suffer a bit less at this mont. Within five hours of entering the delivery room, the baby was born via natural labor, much easier compared to the two-day, two-night pain of her first child.

With the collective effort of the dical staff, the baby’s cries finally echoed, and everyone sighed in relief.

Sweating all over, An Junxi heard the baby’s cry and, through her exhaustion, asked, "Doctor, is the baby healthy?"

The doctor said, "Congratulations to Mr. Gu and your wife, the young master is very healthy!"

Tears rolled down An Junxi’s face as she weakly smiled at her husband, "Yi Ke, our Jing Yue is healthy."

Her tired smile made Gu Yikun’s heart ache. He leaned down to kiss her face, "Honey, you’ve worked hard."

Feeling ntal and physical relief, An Junxi closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

Gu Yikun took only one glance at the baby and then asked the doctor, "When will my wife wake up?"

The doctor couldn’t help but envy him. To the CEO, the baby was far less important compared to his wife.

She said, "Your wife is exhausted; she will wake up in three or four hours."

The baby was born prematurely by over ten days. The doctor placed the baby in an incubator, saying, "It’s good for the baby to stay in the incubator for two or three days."

An Junxi was transferred to a ward, and Gu Yikun helped wipe the sweat off her forehead. He would forever rember the pain she endured from childbirth. "Xi Xi, you’re the bravest mom."

Mrs. An stayed in the ward, watching her daughter. She was also exhausted after the nervousness, "It’s finally over, but it was a tough ordeal."

Gu Yikun looked tenderly at his sleeping wife. From what Mom said, giving birth to Jing Yue was much easier than giving birth to Ai Xi. The danger she faced with Ai Xi was unimaginable.

The conditions on the island were crude; any accident could have... Gu Yikun gripped his wife’s hand tightly. Xi Xi, I will never let you suffer again, absolutely not.

The head nurse assigned staff to look after the baby in the incubator. She instructed firmly, "Take care of the young master seriously. If there’s any mishap, you can forget about finding any job for the rest of your life, understood?"

The nurses knew these words weren’t a joke. The Gu Family’s private hospital had good benefits, and many peers couldn’t get in no matter how hard they tried. No one dared to slack off on the job. Being blacklisted by the Gu Family’s human resources ant saying goodbye to their career.

Yuan Yuan was a negative example. Since being thrown out of the hospital, she had disappeared, and no one knew how she was doing.

The head nurse left the room, and shortly after, soone pushed a dication trolley inside. The person wore white clothes and a mask, speaking vaguely, "The doctor asked to adjust the temperature of the incubator, you all step out and let check."

One of the nurses glanced at her employee number and said, "Xiao Ying, weren’t you transferred to another departnt? Why are you here?"

Xiao Ying lowered her head, fiddling with the items on the dication trolley, "Doctor Gao asked to co."

The two nurses exchanged glances. Sothing wasn’t right; Doctor Gao wouldn’t temporarily assign soone without informing them, and besides, Xiao Ying’s behavior was suspicious today.

They dared not leave their posts, "Xiao Ying, let us handle—wait, it’s you!"

Gu Yikun was staying in the ward with his wife when the head nurse hastily ran over, saying, "Mr. Gu, there’s an issue with the young master."

Mr. and Mrs. An panicked, imdiately trying to go see the baby, "What’s wrong with the baby?"

Gu Yikun asked his parents to stay, "I’ll go check."

An Junxi felt restless even in deep sleep. She woke up suddenly and saw only her parents in the room.

She asked, "Mom, where is Yi Ke?"

Mrs. An poured her daughter a glass of warm water, her words evasive.

Mr. An said, "Drink so water first, Yi Ke will be back soon. The baby is in the incubator for a couple of days, with nurses watching over."

An Junxi sensitively felt that her parents were hiding sothing. She grew fearful, "Mom, Dad, is sothing wrong with the baby?"

Her eyes reddened, and Mrs. An hurriedly comforted, "Don’t cry. Crying during confinent is bad for your eyes!"

An Junxi was anxious, trying to sit up, but the movent caused pain in her lower body. Her face showed suffering, "I want to see the baby."

Mrs. An hurriedly made her lie down, "You need to stay in bed for three days; don’t be stubborn, or you’ll regret it later."

An Junxi gripped her mother’s hand, "What’s really going on with the baby?"

She feared sothing had happened to the baby. Otherwise, Yi Ke would be in the room, as he had promised to stay until she woke up.

She was growing anxious when Gu Yikun entered, with the head nurse following him.

Gu Yikun saw his wife awake and with red eyes, "Why are you crying?"

An Junxi grabbed his hand, "Why is the baby in the incubator?"

Gu Yikun brushed it off, "The baby is born ten days prematurely. The doctor said a couple of days in the incubator would be beneficial."

An Junxi said, "I want to see the baby."

The head nurse wiped her sweat, relieved that she had been attentive enough; otherwise, it would have been hard to explain.

She hadn’t expected Yuan Yuan to be so bold, daring to sneak into the hospital and harm an infant.

She had previously thought that Mrs. Gu firing Yuan Yuan over a glass of water was too harsh. Looking back now, Yuan Yuan had already shown signs of trouble, and Mrs. Gu’s dismissal was preemptive.

An Junxi noticed the head nurse’s odd behavior. After persistent questioning, Gu Yikun finally said, "Yuan Yuan, who was fired, snuck into the hospital trying to harm the baby. She didn’t succeed."
