A few days before the New Year, Gu Kuangyong was flipping through the dictionary to na his unborn grandson. Gu Jinxiu ntioned a very important matter to his grandfather: "Grandpa, I want to change my na."
Everyone was shocked. Why did this little kid suddenly want to change his na?
Gu Kuangyong asked him, "What makes you dissatisfied with your current na?"
Gu Jinxiu said, "This na was given by my grandfather, and I don’t like it."
Grandfather caused trouble for He Yiqing’s family. He didn’t know how he could help Yiqing, but he had to do sothing.
In the future, when he finds her, he can say, "I have nothing to do with my grandfather. I even changed my na for you, so you can’t be mad at ."
This was the first thing he thought about saying to her, although he didn’t know when he would find her.
Gu Kuangyong fell into deep thought. He had agreed to let Yin Handedong na his grandson just because the Gu Family felt guilty towards Yin Yue.
Yin Yue didn’t seem like a daughter-in-law who had married into the Gu Family but more like she had temporarily moved into the Gu mansion for a while. Until she died in the hospital due to a difficult childbirth, she did not get to see her husband and had never had a comfortable day.
Jinxiu was the child she exchanged for her life. When Yin Handedong wanted to na the child, he did not interfere.
Now that Jinxiu himself wants to change his na, Gu Kuangyong is happy to see it happen.
After flipping through the dictionary for a few days, he discussed it with Yi Kejunxi, "Let’s call the child Gu Jingyue. If Jinxiu wants to change his na, we could simply change the middle character. So it could be Gu Jingxiu. The brothers would have the sa generational character."
An Junxi had no objections, "Listen to Dad."
Gu Yikun rarely let his father make decisions, "I have no objections."
Gu Jinxiu rewrote his na, Gu Jingxiu, having one character in common with his brother’s na.
He said in a mature tone, "I have no objections either. Thank you, Grandpa."
Gu Kuangyong specially picked an auspicious day to change "Gu Jinxiu" to "Gu Jingxiu" in the family genealogy and household registration records.
Little Ai Xi couldn’t read words, but she pretended to understand. She repeated her brother’s na following the adults, saying, "No change, still the sa."
Gu Jingxiu taught his sister to recognize words, "This is Gu Jingxiu, this is Gu Aixi, and the little brother is called Gu Jingyue."
"Oh," the little one suddenly understood, "Still don’t get it."
Everyone was amused by Ai Xi. Little Ai Xi sohow knew how to feel embarrassed. She climbed onto her father’s lap and said, "Daddy, I want to go to school with brother. I also want to learn to write!"
Gu Yikun said, "Next year, when you are three, you can go to kindergarten. But you mustn’t cry."
"What is kindergarten?"
"Kindergarten is a place where many kids play together."
"Do Mommy and Daddy go too?"
"No, only you go."
Ai Xi’s eyes welled up with tears, "Boo-hoo... don’t like kindergarten!"
Gu Yikun felt sorry and said to his wife, "Next year, how about we hire a teacher to teach her at ho?"
An Junxi sighed, "Our daughter has to learn to get along with other kids. You don’t want to keep her at ho forever, do you?"
Gu Yikun said, "I just fear that on the day she goes to kindergarten, I might end up crying more than her."
An Junxi laughed at the thought of that scene. President Gu feared nothing, yet was daunted by a kindergarten.
Though she couldn’t bear to see her child cry, she knew that the child had to grow up, attend school, adapt to new environnts, and make new friends. An Junxi pulled her husband’s hand, "I always feel ti flies too quickly."
Gu Yikun held her shoulder, "So you can’t leave my side, not even for a single day."
Now, he relied on his wife more than she relied on him, especially as her due date neared. Each day made him increasingly nervous; he couldn’t bear the slightest mishap that might take her away from him.
Gu Yikun repeatedly told her, "After this, no more children. It’s too exhausting."
An Junxi knew her husband was concerned for her. Bearing children for such a man made it worth the risk, even if it ant facing dangers.
Yin Handedong sohow heard about his grandson changing his na. He and Tao Manqiu ca over to argue, claiming that Gu Kuangyong had misguided their grandson.
Gu Yikun did not let An Junxi co downstairs. He went down briefly and soon ca back up. An Junxi asked, "How did you resolve it?"
Gu Yikun said, "There’s a problem with Senye’s project. Yin Handedong left to deal with it."
An Junxi looked at him suspiciously, "Did you have anything to do with it?"
Gu Yikun smirked and approached his wife, lifting her chin, "Why think of your husband so badly, huh?"
An Junxi was aroused by her husband’s wicked smile. Her husband always had top-tier charm!
She feigned shyness, burying her head and smiling sweetly, "No way, you’re not bad at all."
Her soft smile struck Gu Yikun’s heart, making him feel weak. He kissed her lips, his hand sliding from her fragrant shoulder to her thigh, his magnetic voice filled with temptation, "Your husband does have a bad side. Want to see?"
An Junxi pushed him, "No, stop ssing around."
Gu Yikun loved teasing her, "Really don’t want to?"
As the couple whispered sweet nothings, a cough suddenly interrupted. Liang Huiyun stood at the door, "Gu Yikun!"
An Junxi quickly pushed her husband away, "Mom, you’re here."
Gu Yikun raked his hair, pretending to be calm, "What’s up?"
Liang Huiyun walked in, looking at them, "Jun Xi, don’t bla for ddling, but you... the baby is already so big, can’t you wait a few more months? Gu Yikun, how are you taking care of your wife?"
Gu Yikun said, "I know what I’m doing."
"You know what you’re doing? I clearly saw..." Liang Huiyun couldn’t finish her sentence, "This is outrageous! You should sleep in the study!"
An Junxi was embarrassed and didn’t want her husband to argue with her mother-in-law. She didn’t want her husband to sleep in the study, looking at him with pity.
Gu Yikun definitely wouldn’t go to the study to sleep. He swiftly dismissed his mother with a couple of sentences, ca back, and sat beside her, saying, "Mother is getting old and nosy."
An Junxi hit him lightly, "Why didn’t you close the door? Dad, Mom, and Qian Nuan are all at ho; it’s different from before."
Gu Yikun held her little hand, "Okay, my fault. I’ll be careful next ti." His admission ca swiftly.
An Junxi couldn’t stay mad at him. She reminded herself that with her parents-in-law now living at ho, they couldn’t be too intimate outside their room.
Gradually, Gu Yikun sensed his wife’s coldness towards him. He sighed, "I can’t wait for the New Year to be over." After the New Year, his parents and sister would go to the United States.
An Junxi reminded him, "If Mom hears you say that, she’ll be hurt."
Gu Yikun gently tapped her nose, "What a good daughter-in-law."
Before the New Year, Gu Yikun took her to a prenatal check-up. An Junxi saw Yuan Yuan at the hospital.
Yuan Yuan was as enthusiastic as ever. While the president was talking to the doctor, Yuan Yuan stayed by the wife’s side, chatting with her.
Yuan Yuan gave the impression of being easy to get along with, always sporting a perfect smile, being energetic and knowing well how to engage in conversation.
An Junxi was terrified by people who seed overly perfect, feeling unnerved as though such individuals harbored unknown, frightening aspects.
