Doctor Gao stopped the bleeding for Yue Xiaoyang and then cut off his shirt, revealing a large patch of scalded red skin on his back.

Gong Xiaoyu glanced at his upper body. His skin used to be a tanned wheat color, with well-defined firm muscles. Not sure if it was because he hadn’t seen the sun for too long, his whole body now looked sowhat thin, the muscle lines even clearer, giving an impression of being less robust than before.

Undoubtedly, the days he was injured were several tis harder than usual.

Gong Xiaoyu reminded herself not to soften her heart. She was not a doctor and couldn’t help him in any way.

He didn’t think to look for her when he was hurt. In his eyes, she was just soone dispensable.

For a woman, the most ridiculous thing is to believe that she holds a place in his heart.

She had made such a mistake once and would not make it a second ti.

Doctor Gao and Adri applied burn ointnt to Yue Xiaoyang and covered it with gauze. He said, "Young Master Yue’s burn is not too serious; applying the ointnt for a few days will cure it. However, the wound on his hand is too deep and will heal slowly. It is important to avoid water, and the recent rehabilitation treatnts need to be stopped temporarily as excessive sweating will affect the wound’s recovery."

He instructed Gong Xiaoyu a lot, which she found a bit exhausting to rember. She didn’t understand why Doctor Gao only told her these things.

Adri didn’t want to be ignored. She said in English, "I am Mr. Yue’s personal assistant. Doctor Gao, can you speak slower? I can’t quite understand Chinese well."

Doctor Gao glanced at Secretary Li, then at Gong Xiaoyu. If he was not mistaken, Secretary Li had said that Miss Gong was Young Master Yue’s personal assistant.

Secretary Li said, "When Miss Adri returns to the United States, Miss Gong will beco Young Master Yue’s personal assistant."

Adri looked at Mr. Yue in surprise. She hadn’t returned to her country yet, and Mr. Yue had already found soone to replace her?

To say she wasn’t jealous would be a lie. She had stayed by his side for so long. Did Mr. Yue really have no thoughts of her at all, being able to find a replacent at any ti?

What value did she hold for Mr. Yue, really?

Adri’s gaze at Gong Xiaoyu was full of resentnt. Gong Xiaoyu felt uncomfortable being stared at. When she tried to see Adri’s expression clearly, Adri had already lowered her head.

She couldn’t understand why Adri thought she had taken sothing from her.

Gong Xiaoyu didn’t think being by Yue Xiaoyang’s side was any special honor. She didn’t even want to serve him.

She said, "Doctor Gao, I can’t rember that much."

Doctor Gao said concernedly, "That’s not good. I’ll explain to Adri first, and you can slowly adapt to being a personal assistant."

He repeated everything in English to Adri. Adri nodded repeatedly and said, "These are just basic nursing knowledge, I get it."

While saying these words, she looked at Gong Xiaoyu provocatively, as if she had so advantages that Gong Xiaoyu didn’t possess.

Gong Xiaoyu wanted to retort a few words, but Yue Xiaoyang said, "Xiao Yu, I don’t want to force you. I know you’re busy with the company."

He sat up and asked the secretary to get him a pen and so docunts. After signing his na at the bottom of the docunts, he said to Gong Xiaoyu, "I’ve signed the docunts you wanted. You can go back."

Gong Xiaoyu stubbornly refused to leave, saying, "I won’t take back what I said. I said I would be your assistant."

Although she couldn’t guarantee she would do a good job, at least she wouldn’t feel so guilty.

Much of what happened to Yue Xiaoyang today was largely her responsibility.

Yue Xiaoyang gave a weary smile and said, "Being a personal assistant is hard work. Taking care of a cripple is even harder. Look at now; I can’t even use my hands and feet properly. Don’t bother with ."

Gong Xiaoyu couldn’t bear such words. What cripple? He was clearly trying to make her feel guilty!

She felt an inexplicable anger rising and yelled, "Stop babbling! I signed the contract, so I will be your assistant!"

Her outburst startled everyone in the office. Doctor Gao’s heart skipped a beat; Miss Gong was so fierce!

Adri also looked at Gong Xiaoyu. Was Miss Gong so reckless because Mr. Yue liked her? It was said that Oriental won were particularly gentle and charming; she couldn’t understand why Mr. Yue would like such a woman.

Secretary Li closely observed their boss’s expression. The boss, after being yelled at by Miss Gong, did not get angry. Instead, there was a faint smile on his face.

Could it be that the general manager had a tendency for masochism? How terrifying!

Yue Xiaoyang nonchalantly said, "Suit yourself. It’s your insistence. Don’t say later that I forced you."

Gong Xiaoyu was very impatient with him, "Yes, I insisted on signing the contract. It has nothing to do with you. Is that okay?"

Yue Xiaoyang was in a very good mood. He didn’t show a trace of pleasure but rather a bit of difficulty, "When the contract period is up, I will not make things difficult for you, following the contract requirents. I won’t interfere in Si Yuan’s matters anymore."

This was greatly advantageous for Gong Xiaoyu. After calculating for a mont, she realized that being his personal assistant for a few months could exchange for her future freedom to manage affairs, which was quite worthwhile.

Adri on the side felt like an outsider and sought validation by asking, "Mr. Yue, didn’t you agree to let stay in the country for a few more days? Why did you find a personal assistant so early? I can still continue working."

Only then did Yue Xiaoyang rember he had not ntioned this to Adri. He said, "I’ve arranged an internship hospital for you in the United States. You can start working as soon as you return. If you need to apply for a scholarship, I can write a recomndation letter for you. I don’t lack assistants; you can return early."

As soon as he finished saying this, before Adri could even feel sad, Gong Xiaoyu had already thrown the docunts in her hand onto the table.

She was holding back her urge to curse.

He said, "I don’t lack assistants." What did that an? Did it an she was serving him against her wishes, without any self-respect?

Clearly, he had even prepared the contract, using the decision-making power at Si Yuan to exchange with her, so what was he pretending for?

Secretary Li thought Miss Gong was about to curse again. Was the general manager sure about wanting this personal assistant? She seed to have quite a temper; it might make his injuries worse!

Yue Xiaoyang was startled by her action, pulling at his wound. He grimaced, "Assistant Gong, we can discuss things calmly."

Doctor Gao was afraid that Miss Gong really would scold Young Master Yue and intervened, "Miss Gong, caring for patients requires patience and attentiveness. Since you’ve agreed to Young Master Yue’s request, you should fulfill it properly. Getting angry benefits the recovery of Young Master Yue’s injuries."

Doctor Gao was older than both of them, so he could barely count as an elder, and a healer’s words carried more weight. So Gong Xiaoyu restrained her temper and asked, "I’m not angry. Is Young Master Yue going ho now?"

With his injuries, he couldn’t work. Where else could he go but ho?

Yue Xiaoyang said, "Let’s go ho. Secretary Li, put the docunts in my car."

He stood up, and Adri supported him, "Mr. Yue, be careful."

Yue Xiaoyang’s left leg couldn’t fully support his body’s weight, but with soone supporting him, he could walk slowly.

He didn’t put all his weight on Adri. Fortunately, the office led directly to the executive elevator, which went straight to the parking lot, making it very convenient.
