An Junxi put down her phone and went to hit Gu Yikun beside her. Gu Yikun looked innocent, placing his laptop on the sofa next to him, "Xi Xi, what did I do wrong?"
An Junxi pounded his chest, "You knew Yue Xiaoyang was handling a lawsuit in the United States. Why didn’t you tell ?" This was sothing big; he definitely knew.
Gu Yikun said, "You didn’t ask. I sent Cheng Ye over to help, and Aunt went along too. Didn’t you notice Aunt wasn’t ho?"
An Junxi was furious. She thought Aunt went to stay with Cheng Ye, but she had gone to the United States to handle the lawsuit.
"I thought Yue Xiaoyang went to the United States to avoid Senior Sister on purpose!"
Gu Yikun clasped her fist in his palm and pleaded his case, "Wife, you can’t commit dostic violence against . This isn’t my fault."
An Junxi sulked, "Let go. I don’t want to talk to you anymore."
Gu Yikun wouldn’t let go. He trapped her in his arms, "Even if Gong Xiaoyu knows, what can she do? In terms of relationships, Yu Zheng has always been more proactive than Xiao Yang. I didn’t take sides. If they don’t break up this ti, they will next ti. Yue Xiaoyang deserves it."
An Junxi thought about it calmly. It made sense; Yue Xiaoyang did deserve it.
She gave him a sideways glance, "Is this how you treat your brothers? If Yue Xiaoyang knew how sharp-tongued you are, wouldn’t he end the friendship?"
Gu Yikun said, "He deserves a lesson. I told him if he likes her, he should win her over early. Otherwise, don’t waste her ti. He wouldn’t listen. Look how proactive I was; I went straight to register with you. You can’t run away even if you want to." He took the opportunity to praise himself.
An Junxi bit his shoulder, "Yeah, you went straight to the registry without any formalities. You got a big bargain!"
He never courted her, and there were no flowers, rings, or witnesses to the proposal. She felt she lost out big ti, and it was her biggest regret.
Gu Yikun played dumb, "What other formalities are needed?"
An Junxi angrily turned her head away, "Forget it. You don’t care anyway."
Gu Yikun kissed her smooth neck from behind, his magnetic voice asking, "Who said I don’t care? Tell , what kind of formalities do you want?"
An Junxi said, "Do I have to say it? This is really no fun; I’m mad."
Gu Yikun said good-naturedly, "Okay, don’t be mad, don’t be mad. I won’t ask anymore."
An Junxi was even more upset hearing this. Was he a blockhead? What woman doesn’t like romance? He didn’t even buy her a ring, let alone ntion the wedding.
He promised her a wedding two years ago, and now Ai Xi was almost old enough to buy soy sauce. He hadn’t ntioned the wedding once.
Walking together with him, many people outside still didn’t know she was Mrs. Gu.
An Junxi felt deeply saddened. People say if you don’t get sothing before marriage, you can’t hope your husband will give it to you after marriage. She didn’t believe it before, but now she completely did.
Who made her love him? His personality was like that, naturally unromantic. If she was to be with him for life, she had to accept this flaw.
After all, except for the lack of romance, he treated her quite well.
An Junxi ca to terms with it. She said dejectedly, "Go on with your overti. I’m going to sleep."
Gu Yikun carried her to the bed, "No need to work overti. I’ll sleep with you."
Tonight, An Junxi was in no mood to bother with him. She lay down with her back to him, "I’m very tired."
Gu Yikun turned off the light and embraced her from behind, his steady voice in the darkness providing great reassurance, "Why are you unhappy?"
"I’m not unhappy, just tired." Today, Mother-in-law had taught her golf, and Ai Xi had fun collecting balls on the course. Children never get tired, but her physical condition had deteriorated compared to before. She was tired after less than half an hour.
Gu Yikun massaged her arm, "Co with to the company tomorrow. No need to accompany Mother."
An Junxi didn’t want to go to headquarters because employees looked at her like she was a freak, "I’ll stay at ho. In a couple of days, I’m going to shoot a set of photos for You Lifen."
Recently, You Lifen had been looking for Yu Zheng worldwide. Now that Yu Zheng was back, he imdiately planned to get engaged, which You Lifen would surely find unacceptable.
An Junxi had seen You Lifen’s craziness in searching for Yu Zheng. Unable to bribe Secretary Wang, she even found soone to check Yu Zheng’s exit records. Unfortunately, she ca up empty-handed in Paris, always missing Yu Zheng.
Gu Yikun didn’t stop her from taking the photography job. He was afraid she’d get bored staying ho, "How about I get you an assistant? Carrying photography equipnt around all the ti isn’t easy. Don’t tire yourself out."
Seeing that he still cared about her, An Junxi’s resentnt eased a bit. She turned over and lay on his chest, "No need. You Lifen has an assistant."
Gu Yikun played with her fingers, "Don’t work too hard. Treat it as entertainnt."
"Mm, got it."
Gu Yikun suddenly asked, "Xi Xi, that guy surnad Lin at the bar last ti, how did you have a conflict with him?"
An Junxi recalled the scene of blood splattering in the bar’s private room and curled up in his arms in fear, "One ti, You Lifen got drunk and asked to find her. I went there but couldn’t find her. He hit on ... that’s it." She didn’t ntion You Ran, fearing he’d go after You Ran. You Ran was already in a bad shape.
"When did this happen?"
Recalling that ti, An Junxi huffed angrily, "It was when I ca back to find you, and you told to get out."
Gu Yikun hugged her and kissed her repeatedly, "I’m sorry, Xi Xi. I did a lot of wrong things."
"It’s all in the past. We were both victims. It was your second uncle’s fault," An Junxi didn’t want to bring up old issues. She suddenly thought of a very important question, "Yi Ke, there’s still one thing I can’t figure out."
"What is it?"
"Back then, Gu Kuangxia kidnapped my parents and forced to leave you. I originally wanted to confess to you to see if you could think of a solution."
"Why didn’t you tell ? You didn’t trust ?" He had wanted to ask this for a long ti. If he had known his in-laws were in his second uncle’s hands, just a photo and a recording would have provided many clues. Perhaps things could have taken a turn, and she wouldn’t have had to leave him and wander for two years.
He couldn’t imagine the hardships she went through giving birth and raising a child alone in those two years.
Hugging her tightly, Gu Yikun felt returning her to his arms was a blessing from above. He never wanted to feel the pain of losing her again.
Recalling the past still scared An Junxi, "It wasn’t about trusting you. Gu Kuangxia drove to the edge of madness. I didn’t know how he was monitoring . He knew my every move, whether I told you about the divorce, when I divorced you, and what I said to you. He knew everything. I didn’t dare gamble with my parents’ safety and had to do what he said."
Gu Yikun sat up and turned on the light, "This isn’t sothing Second Uncle could do alone. Did you notice anything else unusual?"
