Chapter 675: Chapter 675: Just Say You Didn’t See
Seeing that the light was still on inside, she knew that her little brother should have just returned ho after work and hadn’t gone to sleep yet.
“Wait for a mont.” She spoke to the driver in front of her, and then she opened the car door and got out of the car, knocking on the door of the locked house where her little brother was.
At this mont, Wallace was taking a bath, and when he heard soone knocking on the door, he had to co out halfway through.
“What’s up?” Wrapped in a bath towel and bare-shouldered, Wallace ca out.
When he saw his haggard sister, he was taken aback, “Sis? Why are you here?”
It was already half past ten, why did she co out alone? And…
She had been crying?
Emily raised her head and looked at her little brother who was only half-bathed. She spoke calmly, “Wallace, I… I didn’t bring any money, could you help pay the car fare?”
Hearing this, Wallace looked in the direction behind her, and indeed there was a taxi still waiting outside the door.
“Hold on!” Wallace quickly ran inside, fetched the car fare and paid it before they both went inside the house.
She sat on the sofa and Wallace poured her a glass of boiled water.
It seed like she had walked a long way, and her face had turned red from the cold.
“Sis, what happened to you? Why would you co here alone so late?” Wallace looked at his red-eyed sister and asked worriedly.
“I… I had an argunt with him, so… I ran out.” Emily naturally didn’t want her little brother to know the reason behind it.
This little brother, although not related by blood, had been with her for 18 years. Their relationship was no different from that of real siblings.
If he knew what had happened to her, he would most likely risk his life to confront Baron Stuart.
With nowhere else to go for the mont, the only person she could think of was her little brother.
Hearing this, Wallace furrowed his brow, “You argued with Baron – with your brother-in-law? Why?”
Brother-in-law…
These words sounded especially harsh to Emily’s ears.
“It’s nothing, just a small matter.” Emily took a sip of the boiled water.
Just a small matter?
Wallace obviously didn’t believe it.
He knew his older sister too well – if it were just a minor issue, she wouldn’t have run out in the middle of the night given her personality.
It was clear that whatever had caused her to run out must have been sothing she could not or would not bear.
“Sis, did he… again?”
“Wallace, I’ll stay with you tonight. I’m going to clean up my room first.” Fearing that her brother would continue to ask questions, Emily put down her water glass and got up to go to her old room.
It had been a long ti since she last stayed here, and the room indeed needed so tidying up.
Seeing her leave, Wallace was worried but had no choice but to stop asking for the ti being.
For so matters, asking too many questions would only cause more grief.
“Bang, bang, bang!”
Wallace stood up and was about to return to the bathroom to finish his bath when a sudden, urgent knocking sound ca from the door.
Wallace frowned at the sound; the knocking was really too urgent.
“Bang, bang, bang!” The knocking continued, and Emily couldn’t help but co out of her room as well.
Amid the urgent knocking, she seed to sense that Baron Stuart had co.
“Wallace, you just say you haven’t seen !” After saying that, Emily turned around, wanting to find a place to hide.
But looking around the living room, there seed to be nowhere for her to hide.
In her desperation, she could only crawl under a round table, the tablecloth completely covering her.
On the side, Wallace was extrely surprised.
