Chapter 448: Arriving at City C
Doctor Gavin was sowhat taken aback by her sudden arrival.
When did Young Mada Walker co in? They had sohow missed it.
eting her ink-jade-like eyes, Emily Walker regained her composure with a hint of lancholy.
But on the surface, she revealed nothing and simply turned around indifferently, leaving the small room to return to the bedroom.
Watching her retreating figure, Baron Stuart remained calm without saying a word.
Lying on the soft large bed, Emily’s mind was filled with the ghastly wound on his back.
How and when was that wound inflicted? She was oblivious.
A pang of heartache sprouted in her heart, but it was kept hidden and never revealed.
Their relationship had now beco ambiguous. It wasn’t quite a cold war, nor an argunt.
It had been a few days since they had a proper exchange, despite the physical proximity, they were like strangers.
One hour later, the private jet landed in City C.
Upon disembarking, a chauffeur-driven car was waiting.
Baron Stuart’s arrival was eagerly anticipated by so of City C’s business tycoons, who sought opportunities to collaborate with Futuren Group.
After disembarking from the private jet, he got into the Black Bentley and arrived at the pre-booked five-star hotel.
By then, it was already six in the evening.
Returning to her room, Emily found herself a bit hungry but she didn’t want to ask him for food at this mont!
Who could have known, it was her first ti visiting City C, she was unfamiliar with the place, did not carry money, it was even tough to buy so bread.
“Hungry?” Baron Stuart ca out of the bedroom, having already changed into a finely crafted handmade suit.
She was startled to hear him ask her the question just as she was thinking she was hungry.
Lifting her head, she was sowhat surprised to see him dressed formally, as if he was going to attend so banquet.
She looked away, his attire was indeed… attractive.
Dressed so well, she wondered who he was trying to impress.
Suddenly, Emily found herself irrationally jealous.
“No!” Emily replied, her tone sowhat indifferent.
Baron Stuart knew she was sulking, so he didn’t say anything. Instead, he picked up his cell phone and ordered, “Have dinner sent up.”
“Yes.” Clayton Howard’s respectful voice echoed from the other end of the phone.
10 minutes later, the hotel waiter delivered a dinner. Seeing the delicious dishes, Emily’s stomach growled even more.
However, she stubbornly remained seated on the sofa without moving a muscle.
Baron Stuart glanced at her before walking over to the dining table and began eating.
The aroma of the dinner hit her nostrils as she lifted her head towards the dining table, just in ti to see Baron Stuart slowly chewing on a piece of steak.
His gaze, however, was directed towards her on the sofa, as if aware that she had been watching him.
In response to his gaze, Emily quickly turned her head away, looking sowhat flustered.
She was convinced he was doing it deliberately.
Just as she was considering this, the noise of footsteps nearby echoed. The sound emanating from the exquisite handmade leather shoes could only belong to this man.
Emily held her breath, sowhat apprehensive about lifting her head to look at him.
With a plate of steak in his hand, Baron Stuart ca and sat next to her, placing the steak on the low table before offering her a piece with the fork.
