Chapter 1365: Chapter 1365: Just now, Mrs. Pearce was here
Watching Mother’s perplexed face, Camila Walker hesitated before responding, “Hmm, what’s wrong?”
Angela Reid turned her head, her face clouded with worry as she glanced at her husband on the hospital bed.
In contrast to her, Baxter Walker did not seem as visibly distressed, but he too looked gravely serious.
Noticing sothing off about her parents’ expressions, Camila turned around, her gaze sweeping between the two before she looked at her mother and asked, “Mom, what’s wrong with you both? Why do you both look so worried?”
After glancing at her daughter, Angela Reid spoke somberly, “Just now, Mrs. Pearce was here.”
At this, Camila was montarily stunned.
Mrs. Pearce was here? What for? To visit Dad?
In her mory, their relationship with the Pearce family wasn’t so good as to warrant a visit to the sick.
Camila raised her head, looking at her mother Angela Reid, “What did she co here for?”
Angela t her daughter’s gaze, then turned to look at her husband Baxter Walker, her expression heavy with concern.
Camila’s eyes moved between her parents, sensing their dilemma.
Finally, Baxter Walker, lying on the hospital bed, spoke calmly.
“Camila, Dad thinks that Jose Pearce is quite good to you and is a decent man.”
Hearing her father’s unexpected remark, Camila felt confused but seed to sense sothing in his words.
“Dad, why are you suddenly talking about this?” she asked, looking puzzled.
Jose Pearce was indeed a decent man, but why was her father bringing this up now?
Baxter Walker raised his hand unnaturally to his mouth, “Dad thinks it’s ti you found new happiness. Jose Pearce, I can tell, genuinely likes you, and now he’s in the hospital because of your injury, so…”
He paused, raising his head to look at his daughter, “Why don’t you reconsider your happiness? As for Clayton Howard… I don’t want to see him anymore!”
Now that things had reached this point, even the slower Camila could grasp the implications, her brows furrowing in disbelief that such words were coming from her father.
“Dad, are you saying I should be with him just to make up for Jose’s feelings?” This was sowhat preposterous.
Indeed, she felt guilty about how things turned out with Jose, but that was a separate matter from her feelings. Surely she wasn’t required to take such a step?
Watching his daughter’s worried face, Baxter Walker felt that although Jose was a good man, perhaps suggesting they get together was a bit of a stretch.
Between feelings, one shouldn’t co together out of guilt, but still…
He looked up, his expression troubled as he gazed at his daughter.
At this mont, Angela Reid couldn’t keep silent anymore.
“Camila, Mrs. Pearce ca just now to talk about this matter.”
Camila turned her head, looking sowhat disconcertedly at her mother.
Mrs. Pearce had co to discuss this with her parents?
“What do you an?” Camila frowned, appearing confused as she looked at her mother.
Could it be that Jose’s mother really wanted her to take responsibility for her son and be with him?
That was impossible!
Seeing her daughter’s reaction, Angela Reid couldn’t bear to pressure her daughter into a relationship with Jose just to assuage her guilt, especially since she knew Camila still loved Clayton Howard.
