Wren Sutton remained silent, images of the past flashing through her mind.

Adrian Lancaster had certainly done many things to break her heart. His blatant favoritism toward another woman had made her the fool in their marriage, forcing her to endure countless grievances.

Those mories had never been erased. They were buried deep in her heart, too painful to touch.

When she didn’t respond, Adrian Lancaster’s heart began to race. He was terrified that Wren Sutton would leave him.

"Wife, I truly know I was wrong. Heaven has punished . This past year has been a living hell. I’ve spent every minute of every day in tornt. You were the only reason I held on."

"Please, for the sake of Heaven letting co back alive, give a chance to atone. I swear I’ll make up for my mistakes and more than make it up to you."

As Adrian Lancaster spoke, he didn’t dare to look Wren Sutton directly in the eyes. The deep sense of guilt seed to seep from his every pore.

Wren Sutton lowered her eyes, suppressing the ache in her heart, and spoke calmly, "You need to rest now. We can talk about other things after you’ve recovered."

Adrian Lancaster remained anxious. He asked tentatively, "And when that ti cos... will you forgive ?"

Wren Sutton replied, "I can’t answer that question right now. Don’t ask again."

After a pause, she imdiately changed the subject. "You’ve been talking so much. Are you thirsty?"

Adrian Lancaster blinked. "Thirsty."

Wren Sutton stood up.

Adrian Lancaster’s heart tightened, and he grabbed her hand, not letting go. "Where are you going?"

"To get you so water."

"..."

Only then did Adrian Lancaster reluctantly let go of her hand, his gaze following Wren Sutton’s figure, not daring to even blink.

Soon, Wren Sutton ca back with a cup of warm water and fed it to Adrian Lancaster with a spoon.

Adrian Lancaster was greatly encouraged; the plain water tasted sweet to him.

"Wife, you’re so good to . I was so stupid and awful before."

The words had barely left his lips when Director Foster entered, followed by a doctor.

Before the doctor could even speak, Wren Sutton knew that visiting ti was over. She put down the cup and stood up, ready to leave.

Just like before, Adrian Lancaster grabbed her hand and refused to let go, his eyes full of pleading. "Don’t go."

"I’m not leaving. I’ll be right outside. You just focus on your treatnt."

Wren Sutton firmly pulled her hand free. After nodding to Director Foster and the doctor, she turned and left the hospital room. Outside, she gave Julian Lancaster and Lucia Lancaster an honest update on Adrian’s condition.

Lucia Lancaster clasped her hands together. "That’s wonderful! My brother’s finally awake! Wren, do you know what this is? It’s the power of love! You’re the one who woke him up!"

Wren Sutton replied, "It’s thanks to the doctors."

"Wren, you’re being too modest."

Wren Sutton smiled but said nothing.

...

In the hospital room, the sll of disinfectant filled the air.

Seeing Adrian Lancaster awake and in stable condition, Director Foster and the other doctors breathed a collective sigh of relief and began optimizing his treatnt plan.

"Young Master Lancaster, you have a strong constitution. As long as you cooperate with the treatnt, you’ll recover quickly."

Adrian Lancaster said gratefully, "Thank you, doctors. I appreciate all your hard work."

The doctors were flattered. "You’re too kind, Young Master Lancaster."

After finishing their rounds, the doctors left the room.

Just then, Claire Sterling ca out of the lounge and hurried to the door of the hospital room.

"Director Foster, my son is awake, isn’t he?"

"Yes, Mrs. Lancaster, Young Master Lancaster is awake."

"Can I go in and see him?" Claire Sterling pleaded.

The director understood the family’s feelings. "You can visit, but not for too long, and not too many people at once."

Claire Sterling nodded gratefully. "I understand. Don’t worry, Director Foster. I’ll just be a little while."

"Alright." Director Foster gestured for her to go ahead.

At that mont, Wren Sutton’s phone rang. It was the nanny from ho.

"Ma’am, the two children are crying terribly, and I can’t get them to stop. The baby girl especially—she’s crying so hard she can barely breathe."

Hearing the nanny’s anxious voice, Wren Sutton’s heart tightened.

"Just do your best to soothe them. I’m coming back right now."

"What’s wrong with the children?" Claire Sterling asked with concern.

Wren Sutton put her phone away. "The children are crying terribly, and the nanny can’t handle it."

Claire Sterling’s heart ached for her grandchildren. "Then you should hurry back. The children are the priority. You were here all night, so go ho and get so proper sleep. Don’t run yourself ragged going back and forth."

Wren Sutton glanced back at the hospital room door, hesitating, wanting to say sothing but stopping herself.

Claire Sterling guessed her thoughts. "Don’t worry, go ho and rest. I’ll go in and explain to Adrian in a mont."

"Okay, I’ll head back now, then."

After watching Wren Sutton leave, Claire Sterling eagerly pushed open the door and entered the hospital room.

After more than a year, mother and son were reunited. Her heart was filled with both relief and emotion.

"Adrian, you’ve suffered."

"Mom, I’ve been a terrible son. I’m sorry for making you worry."

"Just coming back to us safely is more than enough. The whole family was waiting and praying for you. Thank goodness you pulled through. We’re all so happy for you."

Adrian Lancaster deeply felt the warmth of his family’s love.

Then, his gaze shifted to the doorway of the room.

"Mom, Wren is outside, right?"

Claire Sterling sat by the hospital bed. "Your wife didn’t sleep at all last night. She was waiting right outside the door. I told her to go ho and rest. She can co see you again after she’s had so sleep."

"She waited outside the door all night?" Adrian Lancaster was shocked.

"Yes, and Julian and Lucia too."

Adrian Lancaster’s heart ached as he blad himself. "I should have woken up sooner."

"The doctor said family shouldn’t stay in the room for too long. Adrian, Mom has to leave in a little bit too. But before I go, I have a surprise for you."

As Claire Sterling spoke, she took out her phone, opened her photo gallery, and held the screen in front of Adrian Lancaster’s eyes.

On the screen, a pair of rosy infants lay on a bed. One had a small hand balled into a fist by its mouth, while the other stared curiously at the cara with big, round eyes.

Another photo showed Wren Sutton playing with the babies. Despite her tired face, the tenderness in her eyes practically overflowed from the screen.

Adrian Lancaster stared at the photos, completely stunned, forgetting to breathe.

The numbers on the electronic monitors jumped, reflecting the turmoil in his heart.

Claire Sterling said, "Adrian, these are your and Wren’s children. Fraternal twins. They look exactly like you did when you were little."

"The babies are healthy and well-behaved. Wren has taken very good care of them."

"Promise Mom you’ll get better quickly. Wren needs you, and the two children need their father."

Hearing this, Adrian Lancaster’s heart was filled with a whirlwind of emotions.

"I’ve wronged Wren Sutton."

"I did so many terrible things in the past, hurting my wife so deeply. I never thought she would still be willing to have my children."

His voice was choked with emotion, his eyes full of guilt.

"She’s so good. I don’t think I deserve her."

Claire Sterling held her son’s hand and comforted him softly, "Mom understands how you feel. Just like you, Mom also did a lot of bad things in the past. This past year, I’ve been constantly reflecting and trying to make ands, and I’ve finally managed to salvage so things."

"It’s up to us to make things happen. It’s not too late. When you’ve recovered and gone ho, treat Wren with all your heart and be a proper husband and a proper father."

After listening, Adrian Lancaster’s heart filled with strength and anticipation.

"I will prove my sincerity with my actions."
