"Ms. Sutton, we’re about to close. Could you please co and pick up your old classmate?" the waiter said politely.

Wren Sutton glanced over at a sleeping Zoey, then steeled herself and made a quick, decisive choice.

"Send the address."

She didn’t know how to contact Spencer Sawyer’s family or friends, so she couldn’t find anyone else to help.

’Since they called , if I don’t go get him and sothing happens...’

After all, Spencer Sawyer was a forr classmate, not a complete stranger. He’d even brought her breakfast that very morning. It just felt like the right thing to do.

After receiving the address from the waiter, Wren Sutton imdiately sprang into action. She changed her clothes, left the house, and drove straight to The Ocean Grille.

...

Spencer Sawyer had drunk an entire bottle of vodka. It was a strong liquor with a powerful kick.

He was completely drunk, his consciousness hazy, and he was slumped over the table as if asleep. The waiter couldn’t wake him, no matter what they tried.

"What happened to him? Getting this drunk."

"I bet he’s heartbroken, or maybe work isn’t going well."

"He doesn’t look like an ordinary guy. He seems like the son of so high-ranking official. Do people like that even have worries?"

"Everyone’s human. Everyone has problems."

The waiter had barely finished speaking when Wren Sutton rushed in. She’d twisted her ankle earlier that afternoon and couldn’t walk fast, which only made her seem all the more frantic.

Seeing Spencer Sawyer dead drunk and unconscious, she sighed, her heart heavy.

’Why do n love to drink so much?’

’A few days ago, Adrian Lancaster drank until he needed his stomach pumped, and now Spencer Sawyer is like this. They’re all such a handful.’

"Spencer, wake up. The restaurant is closing, it’s ti to go ho. Spencer, Spencer..."

The familiar, gentle voice woke Spencer Sawyer.

Miraculously, he woke up. He opened his eyes, slowly lifted his head, and saw a familiar face.

Though his vision was blurry and the world seed to sway, he instantly recognized the woman standing before him as Wren Sutton.

Spencer Sawyer felt a surge of emotion. "Wren Sutton, you really ca. I didn’t think you would."

Wren Sutton didn’t have ti for explanations. "Spencer, you’ve had too much to drink. Let help you up. I’ll take you ho."

Spencer Sawyer waved her off. "You’re a woman; you can’t support a drunk man. Get a male waiter to help ."

Wren Sutton was surprised that Spencer Sawyer was still being so considerate, even while drunk. ’He really is a thoughtful person,’ she had to admit.

Then, with the waiter’s help, Wren Sutton managed to get Spencer Sawyer into her car and buckled his seatbelt.

"Spencer, hang in there. We’ll be ho soon."

Spencer Sawyer nodded groggily. "Making you co out this late... I’m sorry for the trouble."

What could Wren say?

She gave a resigned smile, said nothing, and gently closed the passenger door. Then she walked around to the driver’s side, got in, and drove away.

Not far away, soone captured the scene on cara.

Spencer Sawyer rolled down the window, and cool air rushed against his face. The stronger the wind, the better he felt, as it began to sober him up.

The events of the evening flashed through his mind in fragnts, making it difficult to piece together a complete narrative.

He tried hard to rember, feeling like he was missing the most important part, but for the life of him, he couldn’t recall what it was.

Spencer Sawyer looked up at Wren Sutton’s back. Thinking about how she had co out of her way to pick him up tonight, he felt a pang of guilt.

He had been muddle-headed with drink at the ti. When the waiter asked for the phone number of a friend or family mber, the only person he could think of was Wren Sutton, and he had blurted out her number.

Wren Sutton, focused on driving, had no idea what was going through Spencer Sawyer’s mind.

When they passed a pharmacy, she pulled over and went inside to buy so dicine to help with the alcohol.

After getting back in the car, she imdiately handed the dicine to Spencer Sawyer, along with a bottle of water.

"Spencer, this will help you sober up. You’ll feel better after you take it."

A warm feeling spread through Spencer Sawyer’s chest. Without a word, he obediently took the dicine.

"Thank you. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you today."

"It was no trouble at all. Don’t ntion it."

「A little over ten minutes later.」

Wren Sutton drove back to Amberwood Estates and parked the car in front of the building.

Spencer Sawyer got out of the car. He could manage to stand, but he staggered and couldn’t walk a straight line.

"Spencer, are you going to be okay? Here, let help you."

Wren Sutton was worried Spencer Sawyer would accidentally stumble into the landscaped bushes, so she stepped forward to support him.

Spencer Sawyer quickly waved his hands, unwilling to show weakness in front of a woman.

In reality, his head was spinning, his steps were unsteady, and he was so disoriented he probably couldn’t have found his own apartnt without soone to guide him.

"No need to help, I can walk. I reek of alcohol, and if you get too close, the sll will get on you."

Alright. Wren Sutton didn’t insist, instead choosing to watch over him from the side.

"This way. There are steps, be careful."

Stumbling along, the two of them finally made it into the elevator.

’Might as well see this through to the end.’ Wren Sutton decided to take Spencer Sawyer all the way to his apartnt.

Besides, they lived in the sa building, just on different floors, so it wasn’t far.

The elevator arrived at the floor with a DING, and the doors opened. Wren Sutton helped Spencer Sawyer out.

Spencer Sawyer went to open the door with his fingerprint. As he did, his eyes fell on the doorbell, and his pupils contracted. In an instant, the words "My mommy’s not ho" exploded in his mind like a bomb, jolting him completely sober.
