Susana felt the warmth from the hug but remained frozen.

Marlon glanced at her with a complicated expression, cold with concern.

He continued, "This is my sister, and I will take her to her injury examination."

After signing a stack of papers, he reached out to Susana.

Susana froze, unsure of what to do. Marlon bent down, took her hand, and stood up.

He stared at the noticeable red marks on Susana’s neck where she had been pinched. His gaze was icy, and he asked in a low voice, "Can you walk?"

Susana’s small hand felt warm in Marlon’s grip.

She nodded. "Yes."

Marlon lowered his head to help her button up her suit.

Neither Susana nor Marlon spoke during the car ride to the hospital.

The atmosphere was strange.

After Susana did all the tests at the hospital, Marlon handed the results to his assistant. "Get the best lawyer you can. I’m going to make Dominic pay."

Susana sat in the car and heard Marlon’s words, and the fear in her heart subsided a little.

She also gradually cald down.

After the assistant left, Marlon turned the air conditioning in the car to the right temperature and handed her a glass of glucose water.

Susana took a few sips, and her mood slowly improved.

Marlon said, "Yvette got a call from the studio saying they couldn’t get through to your cell phone, so she asked to check on you."

He explained the reason for his presence.

Before Susana could ask, Marlon told her what she wanted to know.

"Dale died, and that’s why Dominic ca to New York."

Dale was the only one who could control Dominic. Now that he was gone, his promise to Marlon earlier was no longer valid.

Susana was in a trance, her fingers clutching the glass until her knuckles turned white.

No one could control Dominic, that lunatic, anymore.

Her injury report could only detain Dominic for ten days at most, but not enough to send him to jail.

Marlon looked at Susana’s sad face and couldn’t help but feel distressed.

He took the glass from Susana’s hand, leaned over, and took her in his arms, saying gently, "Don’t worry, Susana, I’ll protect you."

Instantly, Susana could no longer hold back her tears, and they flowed down her face.

Her eyes were red from crying.

Thanks to the tily intervention of the patrol, Susana suffered no injuries other than to her neck and arms.

But the psychological devastation she suffered caused her even more pain.

Two years of captivity had led her to fear Dominic from the bottom of her heart.

Just ntioning Dominic’s na would make Susana tremble uncontrollably, let alone Dominic appear in an attempt to attack her.

Likewise, Dominic also showed up with impunity because he knew Susana was timid and afraid.

Although Susana succeeded in frustrating Dominic’s sche, no one knew how much courage she mustered.

Afterward, she was so weak in her legs that she could neither stand up nor get into the car without the patrolman’s help.

That was just the first confrontation.

She didn’t know if she could survive a second or third one.

Dominic would co and harass her more often.

She knew that pervert would never give up.

Especially after this ti she resisted, Dominic would only beco more enraged and madder.

When Dominic was pinned to the ground by the patrolman, he glared at her with a fierce look as if he wanted to cut her into pieces.

That feeling of being treated like prey was sothing she never wanted to experience again.

Marlon held her in silence and let her vent her emotions.

Susana was used to suppressing her emotions, so her way of venting them was to shed silent tears. Marlon’s heart ached for her even more.

Marlon gently stroked her back.

He slled of sandalwood perfu, a woody fragrance that cald the mind, and Susana clung to him as if she had caught the only light in her life.

Instead of going back to Susana’s apartnt, the car arrived at Marlon’s villa.

Susana looked out from the window at the house and did not get out of the car.

At that mont, the door was pulled open. Marlon leaned over her in a gentlemanly embrace, and his arms pressed against her back.

She felt both warm and safe.

Marlon paid attention to every detail.

Marlon carried her into the house, into the bedroom, and laid her on the bed. Then he said, "I’ll get the bath water ready. You can take a hot bath and then go downstairs for dinner."

Susana grabbed his shirt and said uneasily, "I should go ho..."

Marlon overruled instantly, "You’re staying with until the problem is solved. Your house is not safe."

After saying that, Marlon turned around and went into the bathroom. After filling the tub with hot water, he brought up a bag from downstairs.

Inside the bag were the new ladies’ clothes his assistant had just bought. Marlon put the bag on the clothes rack beside the tub and left again.

Susana felt much warr after the bath.

Dinner was prepared by the maids at the villa, and it was delicious and nutritious.

Susana had no appetite, but Marlon insisted that she should eat so.

In the evening, Marlon ca into her bedroom with a first aid kit and helped her apply dicine to the wounds on her neck and arm.

Marlon’s focused look was unspeakably handso and charming in soft light.

Susana stared blankly at Marlon until he looked up, and their eyes t.

Susana ducked her head in a panic.

Marlon cupped her chin and whispered, "You can look for a while longer. It’s free."

Susana blushed at his words.

Her fear dissipated because of Marlon’s thoughtfulness.

At the police station, Marlon was sad to see her depressed.

He then stopped caring about her coldness.

Marlon was accustod to being courted and pursued, and his self-esteem was a little stronger than average.

So even if he and Susana only had a sexual relationship, he hoped that she sincerely liked him.

Susana said she took Dominic as a habit, which really hurt his pride.

He and Susana have known each other since they were children. How could he be worse than Dominic, the man who abused her?

Even though she said she didn’t love Dominic anymore, he was still bothered that they were once married.

He knew it was only because Dominic maltreated Susana that Susana chose to be with him.

Marlon never wanted to overthink and overreact.

But he couldn’t sleep with any woman other than Susana.

He had been living an abstinent life during the years Susana was away from him and had difficulty controlling himself when he returned to his sexual life.

Susana, on the other hand, was calr than he was. She had told him that it was normal for adults to have sexual needs and that they were just bedmates.

It was obvious that Susana thought they were simply sexual partners.

But Marlon had so trouble accepting the relationship.

Especially when he and Susana beca bed partners, the emotions involved were even more complicated.

Marlon hoped that Susana loved him, but deep down, he was afraid she would truly fall in love with him.

Because he knew he couldn’t give her what she wanted.

All he could do was give her the necessary help and so comfort.

Marlon got up and said gently, "You should get so rest. I’ll be next door. Call if you need anything."

As he was about to leave, he was stopped.

The edge of his nightgown was grabbed by a tender hand.

Marlon looked down, shifted his gaze from the hand to Susana’s pretty face, and asked in a low voice, "What’s wrong?"

Susana didn’t know what was wrong with her but felt attached to him.

She wanted to follow her heart and indulge for once, just this once.

She asked, "Will you stay?"

Susana gazed at Marlon with wide, watery eyes, and the wound on her neck, rather than detracting from her beauty, gave it a fragile charm.

The silence of a fragile beauty was capable of arousing a man’s innermost desire for protection.

Marlon could not refuse her, though he would have liked to leave Susana alone to rest.

Sleeping in the sa bed, any casual touch between them inspired romantic passion.

Marlon lay on the bed in his pajamas and turned off the lamp. He took Susana into his arms and said, "You need so sleep."

He was a decent man, not an animal. He had to let Susana rest without any worries.

When the doctor asked Susana if she was having her period and if she was pregnant during the test at the hospital today, she gave her answers all negative.

He had misunderstood that she was having her period earlier.

Susana had grown up insecure because of her father. Now lying in Marlon’s arms, she slept peacefully.

Marlon, however, was in pain. He preferred to sleep naked, but to take care of Susana, he had to wear pajamas, which were a little uncomfortable.

In addition, with a warm and soft female body in his arms, it was hard for Marlon to fall asleep.

Half-asleep, Susana suddenly shouted, and her arms started waving randomly and smashed into Marlon’s face.

Marlon was awakened by her. He feared she would hurt herself, so he grabbed her hand quickly.

With her face covered in sweat, Susana cried out, "Let go of ! Let go of..."

"Susana, Susana."

Marlon called her na gently, "Don’t be afraid. Open your eyes. Can you see who I am?"

Susana, hearing his voice, opened her eyes in confusion and saw Marlon’s handso face.

She blinked her eyes, teardrops running down her cheeks, and murmured, "Marlon..."

The tone of her voice showed that she was not yet fully awake.

Marlon couldn’t help himself from embracing her.

Susana’s hair was disheveled, her eyes were wet and red, and she looked vulnerable and helpless.

She had a soft, feminine look. When physically weak, she was even more stunningly beautiful and could instantly arouse a man.

Marlon stared at her for a while and coughed lightly in embarrassnt, "Are you awake? Do you want so water?"

Susana did not answer. Her beautiful eyes were full of softness, and her crystal eyelashes fluttered gently.

She was so sexually attractive.

Marlon gritted his teeth and held back his desire. He tried to move away from her body, keeping a safe distance.

He was about to leave the room with the excuse of fetching water, so he could go to the bathroom and take a cool shower to clear his head.

However, he was stopped by Susana. She kissed him tenderly, leaving him in a daze.

Susana had no excellent kissing skills. She just pressed her lips to his intimately.

One kiss was enough.

Marlon sat up, took off his pajamas, and dropped them on the floor.

His long, slender fingers brushed Susana’s collarbone toward her belly. He whispered, "Let do it."

Marlon’s abs looked attractive, with a thin layer of sweat covering them.

Susana’s sexual experience was limited, so her feelings were more subtle at the mont.

She gathered her courage and clung to Marlon, weeping with joy.

Marlon intended to make her more comfortable. He bent one elbow on the bed, pressed his other hand against her back, and gasped, "Say my na."

Susana’s face turned red, her body tensed, and she bit her lip to keep from speaking.

Marlon deliberately slowed his movents, trying to force her to speak.

Marlon had always been a master at showing his manhood.

Susana could no longer stand it and begged, "Mr. Lynn..."

Sweat dripped along his clear jawline as Marlon pinched her chin and said sternly, "Wrong."

Susana couldn’t do more than a murmur, "Marlon."

They didn’t stop until midnight. Susana was too tired to get up and take a shower.

Finally, Marlon carried her to the bathroom for a shower.

After the shower, they returned to bed, and Susana was too tired to think of anything else.

Marlon stroked her hair and stared at her for a while. He seed to understand sothing.

His feelings for her had been different from the very beginning.

...

She couldn’t hold back the vomiting.

Although there was a bathroom in the dining room, Yvette was afraid that the poor sound insulation would affect the guest’s appetite.

So Yvette excused herself to answer a phone call and went to a bathroom further away. As soon as she entered, she started to vomit.

She didn’t notice that soone was staring at her from behind all the ti.
