“Hello.” The two of them suddenly greeted each other politely.
gan Clifton regained her composure; she was the type who couldn’t help but swoon over handso n, but not to the extent of blindly pursuing every one she t. She knew when to hold back.
Andy Aguirre noticed the large bags in her hands and frowned slightly, “Are you planning to carry such large bags while shopping?”
“Yeah, senior, I just suggested she leave them behind, and we can co back for them later, but she insisted on taking them with her. Can you help
persuade her?” gan Clifton was the kind of person who quickly beca familiar with others, even if she had only known Andy Aguirre for less than a minute.
“Here, give
the bags. I have two classes this afternoon, and I’ll bring them back for you later.” Andy Aguirre reached out to take the bags, and Carolline Ruiz handed them over without hesitation, knowing there was nothing else inside. “Thank you.”
“Don’t ntion it, go have fun.” Andy Aguirre picked up the bags and walked towards his college building. After a few steps, he turned back, “By the way, don’t eat too many cold things.”
“Oh.” Carolline responded, everyone around her knew she had enteritis.
“Your senior seems to care about you, just like your brother.” This gave the two sothing to talk about; they had a good chat about Andy Aguirre.
“Yeah, he is my brother.” Carolline said as it was, gan Clifton was very easygoing, and she wasn’t reserved.
“Really? I guessed right.” gan Clifton laughed, “Why did he tell you not to eat too many cold things?”
In such hot weather, ice cream was the perfect snack. She planned to eat four, five, or even six scoops without any problem.
Especially after military training for twenty-eight days, almost a month without any snacks except biscuits and instant noodles, she was desperate for ice cream, but the convenience store didn’t even sell it.
She felt it was only right to treat herself to a few more scoops now.
“I have enteritis.” Carolline explained calmly.
“Isn’t enteritis sothing everyone has a little bit of? If I eat sothing cold or spicy, I’ll have diarrhea the next day too.” gan Clifton thought enteritis wasn’t as serious as she had imagined. When she was a child, she had diarrhea and was diagnosed with enteritis by a doctor after being checked.
“I have a particularly severe case. Once it flares up, I need to undergo an IV infusion for a week.” Not even one day less, which was why she dared not eat anything carelessly.
“Can you drink hot milk tea?” gan Clifton asked, sowhat alard. If Carolline got sick from eating with her, she would feel guilty.
“I can have one Taro Ball.” Carolline nodded. Andy Aguirre’s reminder earlier was so she wouldn’t lose control – not to avoid eating altogether.
“Oh, let’s go then.” gan Clifton finally felt at ease.
Since military training was exhausting, gan didn’t want to go far. They went directly to the cold drink shop opposite the school. She suggested they all go for a drink together to deepen their friendship.
“I’ll treat you this ti. You can treat
next ti.” gan Clifton said before showing her the nu. “What would you like?”
Carolline, who had just reached into her pocket for change, ended up pulling her empty hand back out, “One Taro Ball and a cup of ice-free orange juice.”
“Ok, one dium Taro Ball, and one small size of each flavor. That’s it for now.” There were over ten flavors, gan Clifton wanted to try them all.
“Alright, please wait a mont,” the waiter took their order and left.
“There’s a snack store over there, I’ll go buy so and bring it back.” Carolline spotted a convenience store not far away, and without waiting for gan Clifton’s reaction, she got up and ran over.
She bought so potato chips, preserves, pistachios, sunflower seeds, and other snacks, filling a large bag.
When she returned, there were two familiar faces at her and gan Clifton’s table. Primarily, she recognized Bryan Hawkins, and she never expected to encounter them both again.
