Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Let’s Be Together
“She won the celebrity endorsent for Apricoom Building, as the manager of a company, I rushed back here yesterday specially to have lunch with them.
I invited all top ten models and their agents, and other business partners related to Apricoom Building. I wasn’t alone with her,”
Bryan Hawkins explained in detail to Carolline Ruiz. Because Matilda Ferguson won, he invited many people to join.
Rembering the drink Matilda had served last night, he knew without a doubt that there was sothing wrong with it, so he didn’t touch it. But even with all his caution, he didn’t expect Matilda to have another trick up her sleeve.
In his mory, Matilda was not this cunning, or perhaps, after spending ti with George Morris, she had truly beco unrecognizable to him.
Or maybe, she really is a very cunning woman, and he just hadn’t noticed before.
He could understand Carolline was mad at him. Because he cared about her feelings, that’s why he had to see her at this hour, cancelling all his plans for the day.
This was unlike him, he didn’t think he would go to these lengths for Carolline.
“I know you’re busy, I understand, I trust you.” Just like that, Carolline trusted Bryan Hawkins. She had always known he was busy, and him explaining to her despite being busy showed he must really care about her.
“Do you have any more questions?” Bryan Hawkins brought it up, wanting to assure her that she had the right to question him, as his wife.
“Matilda Ferguson broke up with George Morris, didn’t she?” Thinking about how Matilda had provoked her multiple tis with such confidence, she assud Matilda must have completely broken off her relationship with George.
“I’m not sure,” Bryan honestly replied. He took a careful look at Carolline, “Matilda has been looking for you, hasn’t she?”
“…” Carolline remained silent, she didn’t understand how Bryan could tell. “Fine, it’s lunch ti, I’ll go ho for lunch, you go get busy.”
She knew he was ambitious and didn’t want to be his burden. Carolline had no clue that besides work, he had other matters he wanted to square off with soone.
“I’m free today, do you have to work in the afternoon?” Carolline shook her head subconsciously. Avery Graham was working today, so she only had to work half a day. Bryan smiled and started the car, “Call ho, let’s eat outside.”
“…” Carolline looked up at Bryan surprised, seeing that the car had already started moving, “Where are we eating?”
“As long as I can eat with you, we can eat anywhere.” Bryan continued to sweet-talk her.
Carolline gave a little pout. She thought he was acting guilty because he had done sothing wrong. “I’ve worked half a day, I’m tired, so don’t think I’ll be cooking for you.”
She reiterated her point, she’s not going to be his slave.
“I won’t tire you out.” Looking at the pouting Carolline, Bryan felt as if his heart was lting.
Only then did Carolline call ho. The call was picked up by Henry Ruiz, her father. Without even questioning why she wouldn’t have lunch at ho, he agreed when Carolline said she wouldn’t be eating at ho. He had seen Bryan co to et her earlier.
As a father, of course, he understood his daughter’s feelings. Regardless of how far the two had gone, Bryan’s treatnt of Carolline was certainly different from the past. If they could genuinely be together, that would be a joyous occasion.
After hanging up, Carolline was still stunned for a mont. Her father had agreed so easily, she couldn’t understand why he had not even asked why she wasn’t eating at ho.
“What is it?” Bryan quickly noticed her abnormality. Carolline shook her head, “Nothing.”
She just thought her father’s reaction was a little strange.
Bryan parked the car in front of a boutique restaurant. At that ti, he had recomnded Carolline to open a restaurant like this, with fixed daily quantities and custors, and it wouldn’t be too hard. It would be much easier than her nursing job, and the money would be enough.
After giving their nas, soone led them to a private room on the second floor. When they were going upstairs, Lucy Wade and her friends had just finished their al and were coming down from the upper floor. She spotted Bryan at once.
“Oh, what a coincidence, Mr. Hawkins.” Lucy was smart, she naturally noticed Carolline next to Bryan. But she was utterly amazed when she saw her, “Carolline? You’re Carolline, right?”
Bryan didn’t want to deal with Lucy, but he was surprised when she called her na so accurately. He had no idea how these two would know each other.
“…” Carolline couldn’t recognize Lucy who had completely changed her appearance, “Who are you?”
“I’m Celia, Celia Wade.” Lucy said her real na. They were once classmates in elentary school for three years. Later, when her family migrated, she was forced to go abroad. Now she was back in the city for her career developnt. She naturally chose a familiar city.
However, due to her plastic surgeries, many old classmates couldn’t recognize her. The mory of Carolline was the deepest in her mind. G City was not too big or too small. When she first returned, she had hoped to et Carolline. But as ti passed, her expectation gradually faded.
She never expected to run into Carolline so unexpectedly when she had no expectations.
“Celia? You’re Celia Wade?” Carolline, of course, rembered her seatmate from elentary school. She was a pretty and generous girl who always shared her snacks with Carolline.
Of course, besides rembering the snacks that Celia used to share with her, she also has a lot of other beautiful mories. When Celia left, they cried for a long ti together.
“Yes, I’m prettier now than in elentary school, right? Look, I had plastic surgery done here, and here too.” In front of Carolline, Celia didn’t bother hiding anything and told Carolline about the parts of her face she had surgery on.
Carolline noticed the surprised expressions on the faces of the friends around Celia. She wanted to warn her, but Celia was speaking so enthusiastically and carelessly that Carolline herself felt a bit embarrassed.
“Hey, I t my best friend. You guys can go ahead.” Celia dismissed her friends and wrapped her arm around Carolline’s, “Having lunch? Great, I didn’t eat enough just now, let’s eat together.”
Upon hearing what Celia said, Bryan was stunned, while Carolline looked up at him skeptically.
