Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Talking about Love and Affection (1)

“Are you the nurse on duty?” The middle-aged woman approached Carolline Ruiz and asked loudly, seeming overbearing.

Because her voice was loud enough, Carolline naturally heard her. She turned around and saw the anger on the woman’s face but didn’t know why. She put her phone back in her pocket and smiled slightly, “Yes, Auntie, what can I do for you?”

“I called for five minutes earlier, asking if anyone was around, thinking you were deaf. Turns out you were hiding here talking on the phone?” The middle-aged woman sneered disdainfully, questioning her. Thinking of how no one paid attention to her shouting earlier, she beca a bit angry.

Her words were naturally tinged with personal attacks due to her grievances.

“I apologize. I was indeed on the phone, but I wasn’t hiding. I’ll go prepare now.” After saying that, Carolline lowered her head and wanted to walk past her to the Workshop to prepare.

She knew she was in the wrong, so she didn’t argue. Of course, even if she wasn’t in the wrong, they couldn’t have conflicts with patients’ families. If conflicts arose, regardless of whether they were justified or not, they would be the ones scolded.

“Soone’s already gone to help. Little girl, let’s have a serious talk. How did you get into People Hospital’s Surgical Departnt as a nurse through connections?” Upon seeing Carolline about to leave, the middle-aged woman imdiately reached out to grab her white coat.

In her eyes, she had already decided that Carolline got in through connections. Otherwise, how could soone with such a work attitude be admitted to such a large hospital?

“Auntie, I got in through examinations, not connections. Since soone has already gone to help you, we have other patients, and we really don’t have ti to chat idly with you.” Carolline was extrely patient.

She was in a great mood today, otherwise, she would not have been so nice if she was misunderstood like this. Even if she wouldn’t talk back, her attitude definitely wouldn’t be this good. She had already apologized, so what more did she want?

Couldn’t people be given a chance to change? This woman was holding onto the issue so tightly, trying to blow a small matter up into a big one?

“You don’t have ti to chat idly with , but you have ti to flirt with n on the phone?” The middle-aged woman shouted loudly, making the whole corridor hear.

Carolline was infuriated. What flirting was she talking about?

A young man in his thirties ran over. He heard his mother’s voice and hurried out, only to see her entangling the nurse.

He sighed in his heart and lowered his voice, “Mom, what are you doing? Dad and the others need to rest, this is a hospital, why are you making such a fuss?”

“Miss Nurse, I’m sorry, did my mom give you a hard ti? Don’t take it to heart, okay?” The man turned back to Carolline and said.

Carolline looked at the mother and son in front of her. The middle-aged woman had a very fierce face, but the son was quite polite, “It’s alright, it’s my fault. I’m sorry.”

Carolline apologized once again and then left. This ti, the middle-aged woman couldn’t do anything about her because her son was present.

Avery Graham ca out of the ward at this ti. She had changed the dication for three patients in a row. Even if she had heard the noise outside, she couldn’t leave.

“Carolline, what happened?” Avery ca over and asked.

“It’s nothing.” Carolline shook her head. She didn’t want to say it, it was just that she had encountered an unreasonable woman.

Not long after, the man ca out of the ward again, holding a small bag of snacks, placing them in front of Carolline and Avery, “Sorry, Miss Nurses, for the trouble earlier. These small snacks, as a little token of appreciation.”
