Chapter 171: Chapter 171: Embarking on the Journey (1)
Two weeks later, Carolline Ruiz embarked on her journey to the Countryside. The day before her departure, Emily Hill held Carolline and cried uncontrollably. From the mont Carolline was born, the mother and daughter had never been apart for such a long period – a whole half year.
Besides, if sothing unexpected happens, it would be longer than half a year.
Henry Ruiz just gave Carolline so precautions and didn’t say much. Going to the countryside was a good experience for young people, and also a valuable life lesson. Naturally, he didn’t oppose it.
The place Carolline was assigned to was not as good as a big city, but it was not the best or worst of the dozen villages. It was acceptable.
After Emily finished crying, she brought out the huge travel bag she had prepared for so days. Carolline was dumbfounded by its size, worried that it would make her stand out.
Henry Ruiz held back his words because he knew that Emily was doing this out of love for their daughter, wanting to pack everything for her. If she could, Emily would rather move to the place where Carolline was going.
Carolline understood Emily’s feelings and accepted the bag without further protest. She decided to embrace her mother’s love, even if it ant standing out.
Not only Emily, but even their grandfather was heartbroken to hear that Carolline was going to such a remote place. For the first ti, he severely criticized his son, stating that he had wasted his life in the dical field and couldn’t secure a stable future for his daughter.
Henry Ruiz just listened. It was at this mont that Emily and Carolline completely understood that despite his harsh words, the grandfather cared deeply for his family.
For the first ti, Carolline felt her grandfather’s sincere concern. She thought that when she returned, she would spend as much ti as she could with him, sincerely showing her care and concern.
The next day, Carolline boarded the Hospital’s bus. Avery Graham was also on the bus, but this ti, they were not going together.
Carolline went with a young surgeon from their Hospital to a place called Gratan Town, which was famous for its grain production. Without crossing provincial borders, it was the farthest village from G City and required a day’s journey by bus. Avery, on the other hand, was tead with a surgeon from another hospital.
Avery was unsatisfied with the arrangent, as that surgeon had a notorious temper due to his achievents over the past few years. Their hospital’s nurses were unwilling to work with him. During the assignnt process, Avery was the odd one out, so the two were paired together.
“Stop complaining. Although Dr. Bernard Taylor does have a bad temper, he has excellent dical skills. If you focus during your ti with him, you can learn a lot.” Carolline consoled Avery.
“Yes, I heard that Dr. Bernard Taylor is quite handso. Everyone is afraid of him, but they still want to get close to him.” Gavin Campbell, the surgeon going to Gratan Town with Carolline, also joined in on the conversation.
“Dr. Campbell, they say won are the ones who swoon over celebrities, but it seems like n are just as bad these days. If you like him, why don’t we switch places? What do you think?” Avery was so upset. Was she the kind of person who would throw herself at pretty flowers? Carolline’s words were still bearable – as long as the doctor had a good temper and dical skills, she wouldn’t mind serving him. But if he had a bad temper and no dical ethics, she would be unwilling to put up with it.
