Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Unknown Liquid (8)
Joyce Lopez wanted to beco soone like that, so she could better please her mother-in-law in the future.
“No need, the business lunch is fine.” Bryan Hawkins glanced at Joyce, his expression indifferent as he rejected her offer. He could tell what the young girl ant, but he had no intention of accepting it.
“Brother Bryan—” Joyce’s eyes filled with tears. She didn’t understand how he could reject her so completely. She just wanted to be good to him, and she planned to devote all her efforts to being good to him and his family in the future.
“Don’t waste your thoughts on . I have soone I like.” Bryan stated bluntly.
If his actions weren’t enough to make Joyce back off, he might as well tell her directly: she would never have a chance in this lifeti, and he simply wasn’t attracted to her.
Such a clear and straightforward rejection; he hoped she would understand. He didn’t want to go through another Matilda Ferguson incident with Carolline Ruiz; this was a lesson he had learned from that ordeal.
Since there was no hope, it was better not to let others misunderstand.
Xavier Estrada admired Bryan at this mont. n should act this way. He despised hesitant and indecisive n who tried to have multiple relationships at once.
Xavier thought that if he ever t soone he liked, he would be like Bryan and devote himself wholeheartedly to that person.
Bryan walked past Joyce, and Xavier followed. Joyce watched Bryan’s indifferent silhouette as he walked away, her heart aching as she bit her lip.
He said he had soone he liked, but was it Carolline Ruiz?
If so, she couldn’t believe that she couldn’t even compete with soone like Carolline.
So, Brother Bryan, I won’t give up. If it were soone better than , perhaps I would, but if it’s Carolline, then I’m sorry, I won’t be satisfied with that.
——Cut line——
Carolline stared at the calendar with a checkmark she had drawn and spaced out for a mont. He was leaving the city today, and she was on night shift.
However, lying in bed, she woke up early and couldn’t fall back asleep.
Unable to sleep, Carolline didn’t like to linger in bed. She got up, freshened up, and glanced at the fading nail marks on her face. Suddenly, she rembered sothing. After changing her clothes and having breakfast outside, she went out.
She took a taxi to the hospital where she had seen the doctor last ti, told the doctor she was going to keep the baby, and then ntioned the incident where she was scratched. She asked the doctor cautiously if there were any issues.
The doctor examined her and thought there wasn’t much wrong. However, seeing Carolline’s cautious and worried expression, the doctor wrote a check-up form and asked her to go for a blood test.
As a result, her blood test report was perfectly normal, and Carolline finally let go of the heavy burden in her heart.
“There’s nothing wrong. If you plan to give birth at our Hospital, co with your and your husband’s ID cards on the 15th of next month, and we’ll help you set up a file and arrange follow-up prenatal checkups,” the doctor said to Carolline. “Is this your first child?”
“Yes, but I’ll be going to the Countryside next month for six months, so I might not be able to set up the file. When I co back, if I decide to give birth here, can I bring the prenatal checkup reports from the Countryside to handle the admission procedures?” Carolline brought up the practical issue.
“In that case, it’s possible. You just have to rember to have prenatal checkups every month. The appointnts will be more frequent later, so it’s recomnded that you try to co back for the later stages since the dical environnt here is better than in the Countryside,” the doctor replied to Carolline.
