Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Kidnapped (16)

Bryan Hawkins didn’t insist, so he first poured a small bowl of soup, blew on it to cool it, and only after he was sure it wasn’t too hot, brought it to Carolline Ruiz’s mouth, “Go ahead and drink.”

Carolline Ruiz gulped it down; the chicken soup was rich without being greasy, and absolutely delicious.

She found that swallowing still hurt her neck, so after finishing the small bowl, Carolline Ruiz said she didn’t want any more.

Bryan Hawkins understood and set the bowl aside, continuing to stay with them.

“By the way, Carolline Ruiz, do you have your phone? Call Mia Parker. I was supposed to go to the TV station with her today, but obviously, I can’t now.” Ben Parker, having rembered sothing, said to Carolline Ruiz.

“My phone?” Carolline Ruiz thought for a mont, not knowing where her phone was, so Bryan Hawkins handed her his.

Carolline Ruiz called Mia Parker directly, informing her of the situation. Mia had already learned so details from Emily Hill, mainly because she was worried about Ben, but Emily didn’t know Ben’s situation.

Now that Mia Parker knew Ben was okay as well, she was reassured. She told Carolline Ruiz she was at the TV station and would co over as soon as she finished her work.

Carolline Ruiz handed the phone back to Bryan Hawkins. Her phone was broken, and Ben’s was lost, so both of them needed new phones.

Soon, the doctor arrived for work, and the nurse ca to bring them in for their examinations.

Carolline Ruiz was on an IV drip and had to wait until it was finished before she could have her check-up. Ben went in first, and after his examination, it was confird that he was okay and could be discharged.

Before leaving, Ben visited Carolline Ruiz, who was still being examined. In the end, he didn’t wait for her to co out because Bryan Hawkins was with her, so he didn’t have to worry.

Carolline Ruiz needed two days of IV fluids and would be discharged tomorrow evening. Other than that, she was fine. The stitches on her neck could be removed in a week, and by then, she could have them removed at their own hospital.

This ant she wouldn’t be able to pick up Andy Aguirre and gan Clifton at the airport tomorrow.

Since she couldn’t rember their phone numbers and didn’t have a phone, she was indeed in a bind. Seeing this, Bryan Hawkins called Xavier Estrada and asked him to get Carolline Ruiz a new phone with her original number after finishing the work he had on hand.

It didn’t take long for Xavier Estrada to take care of it and arrive at the Hospital with a brand new phone with her old number.

Carolline Ruiz thanked him, and Emily Hill hurried over with so porridge. She ca alone, and without Henry Ruiz’s interference, she had no qualms about asking Bryan Hawkins to leave.

The reason she asked instead of demanding was because Carolline Ruiz stared at her with a pitiful gaze.

“I’ll pick you up when you get discharged tomorrow.” Bryan Hawkins told Carolline Ruiz, enduring Emily Hill’s terrible attitude before leaving with Xavier Estrada.

With Bryan Hawkins gone, Carolline Ruiz’s mood instantly worsened. Emily Hill was the cause, but Carolline Ruiz couldn’t vent her anger on her. Instead, she expressed her dissatisfaction through silence.

“Don’t be upset. Just think about it; ever since you t him, your life has never been smooth. Your mother doesn’t want to gain face through your marriage. She just wants you to be happy, understand?’

Emily Hill said patiently while scooping out so porridge, feeding Carolline Ruiz one bite at a ti, “At least eat a little bit. How can you not eat anything at all?”

Swallowing slowly, Carolline Ruiz couldn’t refute Emily Hill’s words. Having a mother like Emily Hill was Carolline Ruiz’s fortune. If it weren’t for this accident, Emily Hill and Henry Ruiz’s attitudes would’ve been considered the most open-minded parents.
