Chapter 54: Grandma’s Missing! (1)
Li Xingchen took one look at the comical appearance her brother made in his hospital gown and found it impossible to lie and say that she’d find him attractive.
It was really side-splittingly hilarious....

And here she was, thinking that there was actually soone who was attracted to her little overlord brother!
Li Qingcang was extrely offended by Li Xingchen’s silence. Was he really so unpresentable?
After all, they were biological siblings. Couldn’t she have at least lied and allowed him to save face?
“Okay, Sis. You should go ho now. Otherwise, my brother-in-law will co to the hospital and cuff you!”
Glancing sideways at Li Qingcang, Li Xingchen inford him, “I’ve spoken with the relevant departnts. From now on, they will deliver three als a day every day to the grandmother and granddaughter. And you shouldn’t run around. Just focus on getting well soon so that the family doesn’t have to worry about you. Also, I’ve been thinking. If you’ll really miss not being able to see that young girl again, I could arrange for you to move to a room closer to them....”
Li Qingcang imdiately jumped out of bed. Repeatedly waving his hand, he said, “No, no need. I’m perfectly fine on my own here.”
“So you won’t run amok again? Rest up and get well soon! Li Qingcang, I’m warning you. If you disobey again, I’ll have your brother-in-law co beat you up!”
Noting that his sister was now using his brother-in-law against him, Li Qingcang was at a loss for a rebuttal and could only reply, “Understood!”
Li Xingchen was about to say sothing else but held back, concerned that it might backfire. So, all she ended up saying was that he should go to bed early. Then she walked out of his room.
After Li Xingchen left, Li Qingcang sat in his bed, a million things racing through his mind. He simply couldn’t calm his mind. Feeling slightly frustrated, he ruffled his hair. After having spent many days in the hospital, his short hair had grown longer and appeared a tad... ssy. His eyes, accentuated by his ink-black dagger-shaped brows, were deep-set pools of mystic serenity....
And in his eyes, confused emotions that he couldn’t describe or understand swirled in their depths.
He thought long and hard for a really long ti but still couldn’t co up with an answer.
Forget it. Since he couldn’t figure it out, he’d stop thinking and go to bed!
After Ye Tianxin saw Li Qingcang off, she returned to the ward. Grandma was still unconscious.
She looked so serene, as though she were sleeping soundly and peacefully.
But Ye Tianxin knew that her grandmother’s body was rapidly aging and that her health was quickly deteriorating.
According to the specialist, Grandma’s cancer had started to spread throughout her body. Ye Tianxin was lucky they had discovered it in ti. Otherwise, Grandma’s situation could’ve been a lot worse.
After sitting and resting for a while, Ye Tianxin once again started to feel anxious.
Picking up the plastic wash basin, she went to the boiler room for so hot water and prepared to clean her grandmother’s face with a towel.
Li Xingchen was a kind and ticulous sister who paid attention to detail. She had prepared so daily necessities for Ye Tianxin, including cups, spoons for eating, face towels, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and more.
At this ti, Ye Tianxin still didn’t know that the pretty and ticulous lady who’d co over with Li Qingcang was his sister. She simply assud... that she was Li Qingcang’s colleague.
Using the ward towel, Ye Tianxin gently wiped her grandmother’s face, slowly moving it across her skin.
Grandma had aged. Her hands especially. Because she threaded needles and sewed all year round, calluses had long since ford on her fingertips from the constant pricking from her embroidery needles.
Her grandmother had been trained in the ancient embroidery techniques by the Jiang traditional embroidery community. All these years, she had used these hands of hers to embroider things like shoe insoles, handkerchiefs, and other minor handicrafts to make a living for herself and Ye Tianxin.
Perhaps it was from the soothing effect of the ward towel, but Grandma finally woke up after being unconscious for almost four hours.
“Tianxin....”
“Grandma, you’re awake! Do you hurt anywhere?”
Grandma shook her head “no.” Ye Tianxin walked to the foot of the bed and slowly cranked the handle to elevate the end her grandmother was lying on, enabling her grandmother to sit up. She then poured her grandmother a cup of warm honeyed water.
