There was already a banner mounted on the gates of Jiang High School.
“Congratulations Ye Tianxin of Jiang High School, the national top-scorer!”
Di Shanshi stood in front of the school gates and looked up. When he saw Ye Tianxin’s na on the red banner, he felt his heart beating fast.
He studied the banner carefully before going to the dean’s office.
“Sir.”
The dean looked up and saw Di Shanshi. He greeted him and said, “Di Shanshi, you did very well in the exams this ti. You have brought glory to your alma mater. You weren’t in school before the college entrance exams, and I was worried that that would affect your results.”
“Sir, I am sorry to cause you to worry. Why have you asked to co?”
” Ye Tianxin is a living advertisent for our school, and we hope that there will be no black marks on her. I am not sure if you know what happened when your mother ca to school last ti. The dean’s statent left a bitter taste in Di Shanshi’s mouth.

After Di Shanshi left the school, he went to Ye Tianxin’s house, which was being rebuilt.
The outside of the house was covered with green scaffolding.
One had to enter the construction site to see how the building looked like now.
He stood by the road alone and looked at the house.
He only returned ho after a while.
It was getting late.
Di Shanshi made various dishes that were all very nutritious. Wu Cailan and Mayor Di returned ho together.
“Dad, Mom, let’s eat.”
Wu Cailan and Mayor Di were both surprised, but they both went to wash their hands.
Di Shanshi poured Kaoliang liquor made in Jiang into the glasses placed in front of them.

Then, he poured himself another glass.
“Dad, Mom, are you happy with my scores for the college entrance exams? I don’t know if you two are happy or not, but I am. Let’s drink together.”
Di Shanshi took another shot of the liquor and filled his glass again.
This was his first ti drinking. His face was red after drinking two glasses of liquor.
“Son, you can’t drink anymore.” Mayor Di held Di Shanshi’s hand. “You’re going to get drunk.”
Di Shanshi took out a bank card and placed it on the table.
“This is the bank card that Ye Tianxin gave . She really is a good girl. She is kind, filial, and good-hearted. It is a pity that a girl like her will never be my wife. I, Di Shanshi, am not that fortunate.”
Wu Cailan remarked, “Shi, it’s just Ye Tianxin. Do you have to go to this extent?”
“Mom, she might be nothing to you, but she is the best in my heart. No one can compare to her.”
