Standing on one side of the garden, her gaze swept towards the gate outside, but it was empty, not a single person was there.
Sumr Sutton stared blankly at the empty gate for quite a while, her mood like water splashed in the snow in winter, instantly freezing into ice.
The bit of anticipation she had felt when she ca out was washed away in a heartbeat, leaving nothing behind.
Her face fell, and she picked up Unity, carrying it back to the room.
She found herself sowhat laughable—a man who didn’t even want to acknowledge her, how could he possibly co back to see her?
Sumr felt a bit agitated, and after returning to the bedroom, she simply washed up, then crawled into bed with Unity.
But she wasn’t sleepy at all, with a heap of worries in her head, her body kept turning over and over in bed, unable to fall asleep.
Outside the villa garden, a figure quietly watched the direction of her room on the second floor, standing there for as long as Sumr’s light was on...
Sumr didn’t turn off the light the whole night, and as dawn was breaking, she finally dozed off for a few hours. When she woke the next day, it was already bright outside.
The room light was still on. Sumr rubbed her eyes, reached over to turn it off with a click, and got out of bed heading to the bathroom.
While brushing her teeth, she seed to hear the sound of a car engine starting outside the villa, as if a car was leaving her place.
Sumr was in the bathroom and couldn’t hear clearly.
Morning Garden had a serene environnt, surrounded mostly by other villa areas, with the nearest one being several minutes away.
Where could the car sound have co from here?
Thinking she misheard, Sumr didn’t mind it and continued brushing her teeth.
...
After washing up, she went downstairs, had a simple breakfast, and headed to Royal Delight.
She hadn’t yet beco a full-ti employee at Royal Delight and was still interning.
Sumr had always been outstanding while at Royal Delight, with the company pinning high hopes on her.
Royal Delight gave her many opportunities, excellent chances to learn, and she was basically included every ti.
Her ntor was Rain Carter.
Rain had an interview program today, and as soon as Sumr arrived, Rain asked her to accompany him, which was a good chance to learn.
Sumr thought it was just a regular interview, not thinking much of it. As soon as Rain called her, she imdiately boarded the car.
After getting in, the driver took them on a road that led to Shining Sky Group.
At this mont, Sumr still didn’t think much of it. Perhaps it was just on the way?
That’s what she thought, but once she saw where the car finally stopped, Sumr was dumbfounded.
Outside the car window, the words ’Shining Sky Group’ were strikingly conspicuous on the building’s outer wall.
Early in the morning, in a daze, she had arrived at Shining Sky, and today Sumr felt her head was spinning a bit.
Rain had already gotten out of the car and was waiting for her outside, "Keep up!"
With no choice, Sumr bent down, got out of the car, and followed Rain into the company’s building.
It’s just Shining Sky, after all, there was nothing to be afraid of, she could just go in!
Even if the guest for Rain’s show was Watt Bennet, what of it?
At most, they’d just exchange cold glances!
Sumr reasoned it out quite clearly, straightened her back, and walked confidently beside Rain in the company building.
Rain, being a very competent ntor, after entering, found the reception on his own and explained the purpose of their visit. Afterward, they were led by a Shining Sky employee to an office.
Shining Sky now entirely relied on Watt Bennet to keep up appearances; Sumr guessed that this office must be Watt’s.
