"A casting call for the main antagonist role in a criminal drama?"
Zhu Dongyi nodded fervently.
"Beihai Entertainnt is sending several talents to partake in the open audition. Do you wish to join as well?"
Leaning against his couch, Shen Jingwei shrugged slightly.
"I don’t know. How intensive will the filming be? I am still heavily occupied with the second season of ’Dance Of The Dragons’."
"Okay, so..."
Zhu Dongyi flipped through the pages of the drama script.
He already marked the parts of the villain with an orange marker.
"You will make minimal appearance during the first season. Your face will be revealed at the end of the first season.
You will have a more active role in the second season.
Unless I am mistaken, the shooting for the second season should take place soti around the end of ’Dance Of The Dragons’ third or fourth season or sothing."
"That’s almost at the end of the drama," Shen Jingwei remarked with a frown.
"Yes! So you see, there shouldn’t be much overlapping between the two projects. Besides... This is Yunhuan Entertainnt’s production. You will want to showcase your talent and ability here to increase your value before the managent."
"Hmm..."
Shen Jingwei shifted in his seat.
The role of Xie Jianyu the Crown Prince was more or less "given" to him in accordance to a little deal made between Yan Renzhong and the author.
He never successfully fought for any role and won before.
That being said, this was a golden chance to gauge his true acting abilities.
"Alright," Shen Jingwei nodded firmly. "Let’s partake in this audition."
"Wonderful!" Zhu Dongyi clapped his hands in excitent. "I will add your na to the list then! For now, just rest and don’t think about anything else. I will deliver so takeouts for you today."
Zhu Dongyi left like a gust of whirlwind, and Shen Jingwei slumped against his couch.
The slightest movent sent a pain shooting through his stab wound, making him groan softly.
Cooking was out of option today, let alone shopping for groceries.
Ding dong...
Or accompanying an uninvited guest...
Shen Jingwei growled unhappily before he forced himself on his feet and dragged his sorry self toward the door.
The uninvited guest turned out to be his uninvited sister!
"Dou Dou, what are you doing here?" Shen Jingwei furrowed his brows in concern.
"Big Brother! I missed you so much!"
Shen Dou Dou leapt off the ground and threw herself at Shen Jingwei’s neck.
She did it so often that Shen Jingwei automatically knew to shift his weight and prevent himself from losing balance.
Today, though, when he attempted the sa maneuver, the stab wound at his waist throbbed painfully and he ended up losing his balance and tumbling to the ground, taking his little sister down with him.
"AHHHHHHH!!!"
Shen Dou Dou scread right into Shen Jingwei’s ear, almost puncturing the latter’s ear drums.
Overwheld by misery, the poor man couldn’t help but wonder what grievous sin he had done to incur the wrath of the heavens.
"Ngh...!"
"Oh, Gods! Big Brother, you are bleeding!!!" Shen Dou Dou cried out in panic. "Did a flower demoness stab you???"
"..."
Shen Jingwei did not know whether to laugh or cry.
"Dou Dou, how many tis have you re-read ’Dance Of The Dragons’?"
"I don’t know, I keep repeating from Chapter one as soon as it ends," Shen Dou Dou answered cheerfully before she noticed that her elder brother was bleeding profusely.
"Blood!" She shrieked again. "Big Brother, what should I do? Should I call Brother-in-law and asked him to co?"
Shen Jingwei scoffed.
"What, is he also a capable doctor?"
Possibly.
"Wait a minute," Shen Jingwei furrowed his brows. "Since when do you have his phone number?"
"Since three years ago," Shen Dou Dou answered innocently. "So far, I already have two celebrities on WeChat. My friends are all so envious, fufufu..."
"Two? Who is the other one?" Shen Jingwei asked in disbelief.
"Of course it’s you, Your Majesty the Crown Prince!" Shen Dou Dou cackled. "Heave-ho!"
Shen Jingwei winced from pain as he was pulled to his feet again.
"I’m fine," he said. "I will re-dress the wound on my own. So what are you doing here?"
Shen Dou Dou closed the door and bounced after her elder brother into the apartnt.
"There is a friendly gathering with fellow online BL lovers all over the country tomorrow and I am here to attend it!"
"Out of the question," Shen Jingwei snapped. "You are not going, and it’s final!"
Shen Dou Dou began to wail.
"Big Brother, how can you be so cruel to ! Why am I not allowed to et my online friends?"
Shen Jingwei groaned.
"Dou Dou," he glared at his sister. "I am happy that you make friends everywhere you go, but can you please shift your interest away from LGBT ?"
Goodness, listen to him. He sounded like a hater. What’s wrong with him?
"Big Brother, you are biased toward the fujoshis," Shen Dou Dou pressed her lips together in indignation. "You haven’t even t my friends. What about this. Why don’t you go with tomorrow?"
"... Dou Dou, I am wounded..."
"You can heal through dual cultivation with Brother-in-law!"
"..."
Now Shen Jingwei just wanted to cry.
"You know what, just let sleep peacefully tonight and I shall survive your gathering tomorrow."
"Yay...!!! Big Brother, you are the best. Can you make so Yangzhou fried rice for dinner tonight?"
Shen Dou Dou had the mory capacity of a goldfish.
"No, but I’m willing to order so Yangzhou fried rice for you online."
"Boo. Okay, okay. I brought the entire first season of ’Dance Of The Dragons’ with . Why don’t we watch it together over dinner?"
Shen Jingwei shook his head in disbelief.
"TV is over there. Do whatever you want," he said. For now, he was more interested in ordering so takeouts.
Half an hour later, the doorbell rang again.
"That gotta be our dinner," Shen Dou Dou bounced toward the door. "Let get it."
The door swung open to reveal a handso man with sharp but charismatic features.
Shen Dou Dou widened her eyes in shock.
