It took the production team one full day to end the shooting at the Dry Bone Ridge.
Vice Director Qin was especially impressed with the "very real tension between Xie Jianyu, Zhang Fengxi, and the First Demon King."
"I have sent Director Ma several critical clips for his review, and he approved of all of them. Congratulations, everyone, we are done here!!!" He announced gleefully.
And since the shooting at Peak Point Shooting Studio was ending as well, there was no point joining the other half of the production team.
And just like that, the first shooting period of the second season ended successfully without a further hitch.
On their way back to the city, Shen Jingwei’s hardworking manager was particularly good-mooded.
"No shooting schedule to follow!" He exclaid. "We can now finally relax, Little Shen!"
That was what he said, but Zhu Dongyi was secretly an incurable workaholic.
His excellent mood drove him into work, and he automatically assud that everyone was built the sa way, including his poor, suffering, new rising protégé.
Unbeknownst to Shen Jingwei, Zhu Dongyi started accepting jobs left and right when he had nothing to do in Dry Bone Ridge.
As a result, he managed to fill Shen Jingwei’s schedule for the upcoming shooting break to the brim.
"Old Zhu, seriously," Shen Jingwei groaned when Zhu Dongyi presented him with his next week’s schedule. The initially pristine white titable was now adorned with vibrant colors, resembling a mosaic painting.
"Oh, don’t get confused, Little Shen," Zhu Dongyi was more than happy to explain the color-coded titable to Shen Jingwei.
"Look, the green ones are all activities related to ’Dance Of The Dragons’.
The yellow ones are small, negligible jobs that you can reject if you want.
The orange ones are relatively important jobs that you should not reject.
The red ones are extrely important jobs that you cannot reject at any cost."
Shen Jingwei groaned.
"But there are barely any white and yellow cells in here!" He exclaid. "And what’s with this wall of text???"
"Oh, that."
Zhu Dongyi ignored Shen Jingwei’s complaints and jumped to answer his question instead.
"These are the list of long-term projects I wish to discuss with you."
"Long-term?"
Shen Jingwei read through every bullet point ticulously.
Most of them were acting jobs in xianxia drama and TV series.
Just like "Dance Of The Dragons", they required the cast to be committed to the project.
"That’s going to be difficult," Shen Jingwei muttered. "We have just finished the first shooting period of the second season for ’Dance Of The Dragons’. For every two to three weeks of shooting period, I only get two weeks of shooting break."
"We can take up one more long-term project," Zhu Dongyi coaxed. "Even Feng Jietang has his action movie on the side."
"Yes, but Feng Jietang is not playing the male lead."
"Yan Renzhong is playing the protagonist, but he has tons of commitnts on the side."
"... Old Zhu, are you seriously comparing to Yan Renzhong?"
"Why not? I have the biggest confidence in you, Little Shen! One day, you too shall sparkle amongst the constellation of stars in the sky!"
"..."
Sotis, Shen Jingwei was not sure whether Zhu Dongyi was overly optimistic or heavily delusional.
On the other hand, he simply had to rejoice over the stream of jobs pouring in after the successful launch of "Dance Of The Dragons". Good tis did not last long, particularly in the entertainnt industry, so one should best savor them.
And at the sa ti, he also needed to cherish the little free ti he had, and allocate them wisely...
Ding.
Shen Jingwei peered at his phone screen.
It was a text ssage from Yan Renzhong.
Yan Renzhong : "Send your schedule for the next week."
"..."
Shen Jingwei snapped a high-quality image of his titable and sent it to Yan Renzhong.
Shen Jingwei : "What’s up?"
Shen Jingwei waited and waited, but no reply ca.
By the ti Yan Renzhong answered, Shen Jingwei was doing light leg exercises before bed.
Yan Renzhong : "Reserve the empty slot on next Friday, 7 PM for ."
Shen Jingwei chuckled to himself. The way Yan Renzhong answered made him want to tease the other man a little bit.
Shen Jingwei : "Would you at least buy dinner?"
Yan Renzhong : "I will not let you leave unsatisfied."
"..."
What was that supposed to an?
Was he going to feed him until he couldn’t swallow another bite?
Shen Jingwei snickered to himself.
Anyway, it was going to be their first dinner together after a long ti.
He could barely hide the smile forming on his lips.
The first week of the shooting break was mainly filled with activities related to "Dance Of The Dragons", such as promotional photo shoots and costu fitting.
The costu departnt had prepared an array of oga clothings for Shen Jingwei to wear from two weeks ago, but unfortunately they were all rejected by Lu Shui.
"The Crown Prince might assu his oga identity from now on, but he is still a cultivator and a swordsman. How do you expect him to fight when he’s dressed in flowing dresses?" So the author remarked.
In the end, the terribly unhappy mbers of the costu departnt had to redesign all costus and get their approval from Lu Shui before they could redo all costus for Xie Jianyu post his gender revelation.
For that purpose only, Shen Jingwei had to visit CNC Studio’s headquarters almost every day.
He never ran into Yan Renzhong, of course, because Yan Renzhong was gone on another outdoor shooting trip again.
The one he kept running into was Wu Jin, the person he was supposed to be wary about.
Additionally, since he rejected Wu Jin’s fake love confession, they had stopped talking altogether. Wu Jin, however, seed completely unaffected by the awkwardness.
"Shen Jingwei, hi!" He greeted Shen Jingwei happily when they ran into each other the third ti that week.
"Hey, Wu Jin," Shen Jingwei replied ekly, hoping that Wu Jin would soon go on his way.
He didn’t.
"I wonder if we can talk," he said instead.
