Chapter 83: Chapter 41: Assessnt, Selection!_2 Chapter 83: Chapter 41: Assessnt, Selection!_2 Long Dangdang spent most of his ti ditating, upgrading his spiritual power, and cultivating the new skill imparted to him by Hai Jifeng. According to Hai Jifeng, this skill is not only the core of his abilities, but also the most crucial embodint of the knight spirit.

Long Kongkong had it even harder. Although he didn’t acquire Explosive Burst, and the Sacred Sword was even more far-fetched, Long Dangdang still forced him to practice hard every day. His life couldn’t get harder. Yet, the results were undoubtedly noticeable.

The fulfilling week quickly ca to an end.

“Long Dangdang, are you going to visit your grandparents this weekend?” Long Kongkong asked.

Long Dangdang shook his head, “No, the spirit furnace providential selection is coming up. I need to focus on my cultivation. It’s ti to sharpen the blade in the midst of the battle. I’ve inford my grandparents that I will visit them after the spirit furnace providential selection. You must co with , got it?”

“Oh, we will discuss it later. Concentrate on your training this weekend. I’ll be busy with my things,” Long Kongkong replied.

“The assessnt is almost here, aren’t you going to make an effort this weekend? Are you going to the rib restaurant again?” Long Dangdang frowned.

Long Kongkong grinned, “You don’t get it, that’s my motivation. If you don’t let go, then I’ll really slack off.”

“As you wish. But don’t slack off when we’re at school.” Over these two weeks, Long Kongkong had indeed beco much more diligent than before. He was making significant progress, despite his complaining.

Thus, on Saturday morning, Hep Benn saw Long Kongkong again.

“Goddess, you are becoming more and more beautiful. Do you have free ti after work today? Can I invite you to dinner?” Long Kongkong whispered playfully into Hep Benn’s ear.

Hep Benn rolled her eyes at him, “Go do your job!”

“Sure thing! I’m off to chop the ribs.” With that, he headed to the kitchen. If he helped Father Hep stew the ribs early, he could then keep the goddess company at the front.

For Long Kongkong, this was a pleasant weekend.

Working during the day, training at his teacher’s place in the evening. It was a satisfactory ti. His first assessnt was on the horizon.

On Monday, when the students of Knights Class One entered the classroom, Yan Yao was already there. When everyone had arrived, Yan Yao announced: “The ti for the assessnt has co. I won’t ask whether you’ve prepared or not. During the assessnt, give it your all. Just do your best and leave no regrets. This assessnt is tied to the spirit furnace providential selection ritual in two weeks, and you could say it determines your future. I believe you all understand its importance. Everyone, stand up and follow to attend the school-wide eting.”

This was the first school-wide eting since Long Dangdang and Long Kongkong arrived at Spirit Furnace Academy.

Classes were led out of their classrooms by their teachers and guided toward the square at the center of Spirit Furnace Academy. The square wasn’t particularly large, perhaps due to the limited number of students at the academy.

There were six grades in total, each grade categorized into six classes, and each class consisted of ten students. The class of Knights Class One was an exception with a slightly higher headcount. There were around three hundred students, with less than four hundred in total. They were assembled on the square in order of their grades.

Long Dangdang noticed that in grades one, two, and three, there were clear divisions between classes: knights were with knights, mages were with mages. However, in higher grades, it was not the case. The different uniform badges made it evident that students from various professions were mixed together.

In grade one, he quickly spotted several top talents, including his cousin.

Ling nglu was wearing the Spirit Furnace Academy uniform, her exquisite face covered with a mask, her pale golden eyes were the only thing visible. The students in Priests Class One clearly revered her and surrounded her protectively.

“Is that our cousin?” Long Kongkong nudged Long Dangdang and asked in a low voice.

After Long Dangdang returned, naturally, he had told Long Kongkong about nglu being their cousin.

“Hmm.”

“She seems pretty amazing. Elder Brother, don’t you fancy our cousin a little? With her innate spiritual force of ninety-nine, she’s extrely powerful.” Long Kongkong asked with a cheeky grin.

“What nonsense are you talking about? She’s our cousin.” Long Dangdang retorted irritably.

Long Kongkong chuckled, saying, “The thing is, according to Federation laws, we can marry our first cousin once removed.”

Long Dangdang gave him a speechless look, “What are you researching every day? How co you know such random stuff.”

Long Kongkong replied, “I’m doing it for our future happiness! What’s wrong with knowing more? Don’t worry, no matter how beautiful our cousin is, I won’t fight over her with you. I already have my goddess.”

“Get lost, go as far away from as possible.” Long Dangdang couldn’t resist anymore and kicked him.

Just at that mont, beams of light flared up into the sky. These beams quickly condensed into human forms.

The only person Long Dangdang and Long Kongkong recognized was School Director Yu Yunqiong standing at the edge. They didn’t know the others. However, each of them emitted an overwhelmingly powerful aura. They were obviously the higher-ups of the Spirit Furnace Academy.

Suspended in the middle of the air was an elderly man in a magic robe. The magic robe was pure white with dazzling golden patterns. The air around him was slightly distorted, creating a faint golden halo behind him. Even the sun seed less glaring upon his arrival as if its rays had been devoured and absorbed by him.

“Greetings, everyone. The crucial academy examination is about to comnce. This examination will be overseen and conducted by and other teachers of the academy. It concerns the spirit furnace providential selection ritual in two weeks, and I hope you will all fully demonstrate your abilities. Now, let announce the outline of the examination.”

“Over ten thousand years ago, the Demon Tribe invaded and caused widespread devastation, hence, giving birth to the na, Land of the Sacred and Demonic. The Demon Tribe no longer exists, but they once almost eradicated the human race. Your exam task is to fight against the Demon Tribe simulated by the predecessors of the spirit furnace. Seniors will proceed as their own Demon Hunting Teams. Juniors will draw lots by grade. The three specializations of Mages and close combat will be paired through the draw. The more and stronger the demons you kill, the higher the score you’ll get. In the end, each grade will have overall grading and ranking. The scores of each team are divided evenly among its mbers, and the total score of each class is added up for class ranking.”

“We will start with the draw, beginning with the first year. The top three individual scorers from the previous test have the privilege to choose their partners. Let’s start with them. Zisang Liuying, who ca first, you may choose your partner.”

The cold and beautiful mage girl from Mages Class One, Zisang Liuying, stepped forward and said clearly, “I choose Tang Leiguang from Warriors Class One.”

Without a doubt, powerful warriors and knights are the best protectors for mages. However, Knights Class One were sowhat inferior, so the best choice naturally fell on this genius from Warriors Class One, a Thunder Sword Saint whose strength was nearly 6th Rank.

“Next, Cai Caijuan, who ca second, please make your choice.”

Cai Caijuan walked out with a smile, her gaze turning towards the first-year close-combat three specialization side, “Not much to choose from, I’ll take Chu Yu.” Pairing a summoner genius with an assassin genius was also an excellent choice. The summoned beast could take the frontal attacks, while the assassin could flank and burst damage.

Two of the top five geniuses of the first year have now been paired.

“Ling nglu, you’ve co third, please make your choice.”

All that’s left out of the top five geniuses is the Goddess herself, Ling nglu.

Ling nglu stepped forward, and her soft voice resonated, “I choose, Long Dangdang from Knights Class One.”

In an instant, all eyes turned towards the Knights Class One. Who did the Goddess choose?
