Her mind exploded, and Alia Garcia was dumbfounded.
What should she do? Her children were still so young, and she didn't feel at ease letting just anyone take care of them.
"Mom? Why aren't you speaking?"
Her son's voice rang out again, and Alia, having a sudden idea, hastily instructed, "Noah, here's the thing... Mom suddenly has so urgent business and can't co to pick you up, so call the police uncle and ask him to take you guys ho."
"Call the police uncle?"
"Yes! Do you rember what Mom told you before? You're the most sensible, aren't you? I'm sure you can take good care of Ethan. I'll be ho as soon as I'm done."
After thoroughly explaining to her son, Alia Garcia anxiously hung up, just hoping to "avoid disaster" today.
At the Lego store, after Noah hung up the phone, he and his brother put back the toys they had chosen and then dialed 110.
The police arrived quickly, and seeing that the children could clearly state their ho address, they took them out of the mall.
It was the brothers' first ti in a police car, and they were extrely excited.
However, just as they got into the car, Ethan looked through the window and quickly tapped Noah, "Brother! Brother! Isn't that the little girl from before? She looks like she's crying!"
"Girls are always so teary," Noah, following his brother's comnt, glanced towards the mall entrance.
Indeed, it was the slightly "silly" little sister, being held by a tall man, crying loudly.
That man...
The little boy had excellent eyesight and, seeing the stern handso face, his bright eyes uncontrollably widened.
He looked—
Noah Garcia didn't notice anything unusual, only thinking about the little girl and quickly jumped out of the car, "Little sister—"
Before he could finish shouting, the police uncle grabbed him, "Little friend, don't run around, Uncle will take you ho."
"Police Uncle, I saw my friend, can I go..."
Before he could fully explain to the police, the man holding the little girl had quickly stepped into a car, and the bodyguard shut the door.
Watching the luxury sedan drive away, Noah Garcia pursed his lips, disappointedly stopping his steps.
In the police car, Noah hastily sat up and, from the rearview mirror, watched the departing Bentley, deliberately morizing the license plate number.
While inside the Bentley, Hope Hart, laying in her father's arms, also happened to be looking behind.
With tear-blurred eyes watching a figure growing distant, she suddenly stopped crying and stood up, "Daddy... stop the car! I saw that little boy!"
"What?" Christopher Hart did not understand, but seeing his daughter excited, he quickly turned to look along with her.
However, he only saw the back of a police car parked outside the mall, and a police officer leading a little boy into the vehicle.
"It must be soone's naughty kid who got lost. Boys are always so mischievous."
The man dismissed the thought, turned back around, and gently wiped the tears from his daughter's face, soothingly saying, "Hope is the sweetest, Daddy's little treasure."
Hope Hart, looking dazed, kept her bright, vibrant eyes fixed on the departing police car until it turned the corner and was out of sight...
When the brothers returned ho, Alia Garcia hadn't yet arrived.
Noah politely saw off the police uncle, then turned to dig out his mother's laptop from the room.
Ethan, clueless, asked, "Brother, what are you doing?"
"Going online."
"To do what?"
"Check the license plate."
"For what purpose?"
"..."
While Noah was skillfully and rapidly hacking into the transportation bureau's system, he, unable to bear it, said, "Go see if there's any food in the fridge, aren't you hungry?"
"Hmm, now that you ntion it, I am really hungry," Ethan said, climbing off the chair and hopping rrily to the living room to rummage through the fridge.
Noah stared at the computer screen, looking at the car owner's information tied to the license plate, and his eyes dimd for a few seconds.
Christopher Hart.
He rembered, the day they returned to their ho country, Aunt Snow had ntioned this na in the car, saying he protected his daughter very well.
Who exactly was this man?
After a brief pause, the little boy snapped back to reality, imdiately exited the system, and opened the search engine.
After typing "Christopher Hart" into the search bar, he stared at the handso and stern face that appeared on the screen, once again dumbfounded.
It was him— the uncle at the mall entrance, the one holding the silly little sister.
So, he was the man Mom and Aunt Snow were talking about!
But why would Mom ntion him? And why would Mom want to see his daughter?
Also, that face...
The little guy paused for a few seconds then suddenly got up to find a mirror.
Comparing his reflection to the face on the screen— they looked so alike— could he possibly be his dad?
If he really was his dad, why had Mom never ntioned him? Why hadn't she brought them together with Dad?
The little boy's mind flickered with countless questions.
"Mom, you're finally back... I'm about to starve to death, and Brother won't even make food, hmph!" Suddenly, a voice ca from the living room; Noah jumped, hurriedly closed the browsing page, and even deleted the browsing history.
Just as he ran to the room's doorway, Alia Garcia arrived right then, and they almost bumped into each other.
"Noah? What are you doing?" Alia asked her eldest son, smiling warmly.
"Just bored, browsing the internet," the little fellow responded to his mom, his eyes darting to his brother, who complained without any courtesy, "I'm only two minutes older than you, why should I cook for you?"
"Because you are the older brother, even if it's by just one second!"
"Hah, now you admit that I'm your older brother?"
"You've always been!"
As the brothers went back and forth, looking like they might start bickering again, Alia Garcia held her forehead, sighed helplessly, and quickly intervened, "Alright, alright, Mom will cook; what would you like to eat? Na the dishes."
Ethan, sweet as honey, replied, "Whatever Mom cooks is delicious."
Alia rubbed her younger son's head and smilingly went into the kitchen.
In the living room, the brothers listlessly started to fold paper airplanes.
Noah glanced at his brother and beckoned him with a finger.
"What's up?"
"Would you like to have a dad?" the older brother asked.
Ethan's eyes lit up, "What, you can find Dad?"
"Shh... keep it down!" the elder brother pulled him closer and they quietly discussed their plan to "capture" their real dad.
