Indeed, once inside the private room, the scene of glasses clinking suddenly hushed, with seven or eight pairs of eyes turning towards the doorway.

After all, Alia had been a president before, so she was no stranger to such social gatherings.

Her mind was only briefly dazed before she regained her composure, her face adorned with an elegantly professional smile.

Christopher also curled his lips slightly, holding the woman’s hand as they returned to their previous spot under countless gazes.

Benny followed behind, calling in a waiter to add a chair beside Christopher’s seat.

"I’m feeling unwell, and my wife is worried about drinking at such events, so she insisted on coming over to check—hope you all don’t mind?" After sitting down, Christopher spoke, his deep voice calm and forceful, breaking the room’s silence.

What?!

Alia turned back sharply, glaring at him.

This man... is too much!

He actually put the bla on her!

The guests laughed out loud, "Not at all, not at all, how enviable the deep affection between President Hart and his wife!"

"Yes, yes, I’ve heard they even have three children, a complete family!"

"Truly a life winner!"

"So this crisis at Seal-Cloud will definitely pass unhard! That’s family fortune! With good family fortune, nothing can stop you!"

Alia had heard flattery at table banquets, but never imagined it would be this loud.

Christopher’s face seed unchanged, yet beneath the table, his large hand had already unfaithfully clasped his woman’s hand.

For the first ti having his beloved woman accompany him to such a gathering, he suddenly felt this dinner wasn’t so dull and boring.

Moreover, their relationship had long been stable, yet due to various reasons hadn’t married, thus lacking the chance to officially announce it—now being able to openly bring her along was a recognition and announcent.

Christopher felt a subtle pride in his heart, not caring how true those words were, but his happiness and satisfaction was genuine.

As he squeezed her hand, Alia turned back, only to see his face full of tenderness and affection, a smile curving his lips.

Yet she was still upset about the unwarranted "bla," hence she coldly glared at him, swiftly shaking off his hand under the table.

She stood up, lifted the red wine just poured by the waiter, and raised it: "Thank you, esteed bosses, for your presence. Please lend us your support to help Seal-Cloud through this crisis."

Although Christopher hadn’t ntioned the purpose of this gathering, it surely related to the company’s current predicant.

For him to personally deal with it, these must be the big shots in the industry.

If they offered help, it would certainly be a tily assistance.

She added, "I finish my drink, and you bosses feel free." Without waiting for Christopher to stop her, she tilted back her head to finish the glass of red wine.

That decisive and bold energy stunned Benny for a mont, yet soon he led the applause: "Well! With Young Madam Hart being so forthright, we can’t be outdone! I’ll finish mine too!"

With his lead, the bosses naturally couldn’t fail, so they all raised their glasses and drank heartily.

Alia smiled and sat down.

Christopher grabbed her arm, "Who told you to drink like that? Such a strong sip!"

Alia glanced askance, replying lightly, "If you dragged here to socialize, aren’t I supposed to drink?" She said it on purpose.

"I..." He was quite furious, "I didn’t bring you to block drinks!"

"But since I’m here, can’t I just sit still like a vase?"

Alia understood the role a woman could play at such dinner events.

Especially one of her beauty.

She wasn’t being self-deprecating, but since she was incidentally brought along by Christopher, she might as well play her part and enliven the atmosphere.

Maybe she could lend him so help.

Indeed, with her bold action, several big shots who had been pressing for paynts imdiately loosened up, saying, "Brother Christopher, we understand Seal-Cloud has difficulties now... I trust your abilities, and believe in Seal-Cloud’s strength, no need for more words, I’ll extend the deadline by another two months, does that sound fair?"

Upon hearing this, Alia suddenly realized.

So they weren’t discussing financing or fundraising at this dinner, but were actually being chased for paynts?

She looked at Christopher in surprise, raising an eyebrow.

Christopher was equally speechless.

Turns out the eldest son and president of Seal-Cloud Corporation’s prestige was lesser than his beloved woman’s few words and a glass of red wine?

Before he could speak, Alia quickly caught on, poured another drink, and said, "Thank you, and may I know your surna?"

"Surna Wang, no need for formalities."

"Thank you, Mr. Wang, I toast this drink to you!"

No sooner had she said this than she tilted her head back to finish another glass.

Benny’s eyes were wide with amazent.

He never knew Alia had this unknown side.

Furthermore, since when did her alcohol tolerance beco this good?

Seeing her continuously down two drinks, Christopher’s face darkened. He pulled her down to sit, commanding softly, "No more drinking!"

"Don’t worry, I’m fine."

Alia chuckled, flirtingly threw him a coquettish glance amidst the guests, and turned to pour more wine.

The n at the table, although accustod to grand scenes and surrounded by beauties, had never before seen soone as gracefully intellectual, yet forthright and bold as Alia.

They suddenly understood why Christopher couldn’t forget his ex-wife—such an unparalleled woman, who wouldn’t be captivated?

Christopher too saw a different side of Alia for the first ti, feeling both annoyed yet unconsciously infatuated.

These n around, although distinguished, were not qualified to appreciate his woman!

Though Seal-Cloud faced a crisis, Christopher indeed wasn’t as imposing as before, but he didn’t need to sell out his beloved woman’s charm to woo these foul n.

Alia began to toast each one in turn, then happened to glimpse outside the window, catching sight of Charles in the distance.

He took a call, imdiately rising and leaving, possibly for so urgent matter.

No wonder...

Deep in thought, no wonder Christopher had gone crazy earlier, as this spot just happened to glimpse the place where she dined with Charles.

Thinking that he’d surely interrogate her tonight, she was more determined to get drunk.

After all, being with him, she wasn’t afraid of any issues arising from drunkenness. She could avoid his questioning and tonight’s argunt—why not?

Yet she hadn’t even completed a full round when Christopher completely exploded.

Benny quickly stood up and rushed over to her side, pulling her back: "You need to stop drinking, that guy’s about to turn King Rhys faced!"

"It’s okay, Benny, I’m aware of my drinking—co, you’re President Johnson, right? Would you like to fill up or..."

"Aw, my dear madam! Stop making trouble! Go on, you and he better head back!" Benny grabbed the glass from her hands, looked at President Johnson, "Co on, Old Johnson, I’ll drink in her stead! She just had an incident on the highway recently, still recovering, and truly can’t drink much."

Alia frowned, pushed behind by Benny.

Feeling a bit dizzy, she was about to steady herself against the wall, when suddenly her wrist was seized by a force, then her waist tightened as she uttered a soft "ah" and fell into the man’s embrace.
