Their eyes t, and for so reason, Alia’s eyes suddenly reddened, looking utterly aggrieved.

Christopher’s heart suddenly ached, and he felt imnse regret. Without a word, he pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.

"I’m sorry..."

His long-repressed emotions burst out suddenly, his voice trembling as he spoke. His thin lips kissed gently behind her ear and along her neck.

"I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have lost my temper with you... You know, ever since I received that call from Kane, those ten plus hours have been agonizing. You were on the plane, and I couldn’t reach you. I hated myself for not being able to do anything for you, and even implicating you... You’re so good, so good to , I shouldn’t have lost my temper with you..."

When Alia was held by him, her tense nerves finally relaxed completely.

As tears fell, she felt very trivial, wondering what there was to cry about.

Yet she couldn’t help it.

Upon hearing him ntion Kane, her turbulent emotions subsided a bit. She withdrew from his embrace, "So it was Kane... He called before I boarded the plane... also tried to persuade , but I had already made up my mind... He must also feel regretful, as this brand was founded by him and together. If it weren’t for his investnt back then, Venus wouldn’t have been born. Although he withdrew, he definitely hopes I can keep running it."

"Yes, that’s why he was very angry, scolding for dragging you down, even saying I wasn’t worthy of you—do you know what it’s like to be scolded rcilessly by a rival in love? The thing is, I was in the wrong, and I couldn’t even think of a retort."

Alia looked at him, her eyes misty, shaking her head repeatedly, "It’s not like that at all. Since we’re together, there’s no such thing as dragging each other down."

"Although that’s true, you sacrificed so much for this ti, anyone would think that way. I knew you returned ho, imdiately checked your flight, and went to the airport before dawn to wait for you... I thought a lot, about seeing you and then imdiately dragging you back onto a plane to Zurich to reclaim the company..."

She suddenly laughed through her tears, "Do you think it’s a toy? Sell it if you want to, reclaim it if you want to."

The man laughed along, seeing her cheeks still streaked with tears. His long eyelashes lowered as he gently kissed them.

Alia didn’t close her eyes, so she saw clearly the tenderness and affection that flashed across his brows as he kissed away the traces of tears on her face.

Enough...

As long as he is sincere, as long as he understands my sacrifices, as long as he cherishes this love regained—then everything is worth it.

As for what happens in the future, the outco is no longer important.

Just seek inner peace in the present mont, just seek no regrets now.

After their conflict eased, Christopher kept holding her.

"It’ll take another half an hour to get to your company from here, want to sleep for a bit?" Though Christopher’s anger hadn’t completely subsided, his attitude toward her was much gentler.

Knowing she’s tired, he looked down at the lovely face in his arms, his eyes full of tenderness.

Alia glanced up at him, sothing crossing her mind, and murmured, "No, I’m not sleepy."

Seeing right through her, he said awkwardly, "Relax, I’ll definitely wake you up when we arrive, I won’t take you back."

Uh—he saw through her.

She looked montarily embarrassed and sowhat skeptical, "You an it?"

He nodded and promised, "Yes, sleep."

"Alright then..."

Truly exhausted and sleepy, she realized there was a ss at the office waiting for her, so she didn’t resist any longer, finding a comfortable position in his embrace and closing her eyes.

Christopher kept his eyes on her.

Within monts, seeing her fast asleep, he couldn’t help but place a gentle kiss in her hair, then sighed heavily, tightening his embrace to hold her more securely, ensuring she slept in peace.

When they arrived downstairs at Alia’s company, Christopher glanced at the beauty in his arms, hesitating whether to let her sleep a bit longer, but to his surprise, she stirred slightly and suddenly woke up.

"Hmm, are we here?" She sat up, her eyes not fully clear yet, asking softly.

Christopher smiled self-deprecatingly, "You’re so afraid I won’t keep my word? Were you sleeping on edge?"

Alia explained earnestly, "It’s not that I don’t trust you, but with these matters unsettled, I can’t relax, so I woke up as soon as the car stopped."

Christopher gazed at her, eyes full of pity.

"Alia, you—"

"I’m pressed for ti, need to get off, try to co ho early tonight, okay? Are you working overti today?"

Knowing what he wanted to say, Alia didn’t give him a chance to speak.

Christopher sighed helplessly, "No matter how busy, I won’t work overti today."

After being away on a business trip for so long, how could he bear to work late?

If she wasn’t insisting on going to work, he would certainly be at ho with her.

"Alright, we’ll talk tonight, I’m getting off. Just leave the luggage in the trunk."

She made hasty instructions and was about to get off.

But as soon as she touched the car door and before she could push it open, his arm hooked around her waist.

A startled cry was swallowed by his thin lips, as he pressed her into the seat, kissing fiercely.

Frowning, Alia soon realized that though his kiss was rough, it was out of helplessness and venting.

Unwilling to scold or berate her, the only way he could express his feelings was through this intimate form of ’punishnt.’

"Alright, alright, I know you’re upset, you can deal with when I get ho tonight, okay?" If she wasn’t rushing, Alia would’ve allowed him. But with important matters to handle, she couldn’t delay, so she pushed him away gently with a smile.

Christopher’s eyes were deep, his face showing a mix of emotions. Even after being pushed away, he leaned in to kiss her softly several more tis before letting her break free.

Alia awkwardly got out of the car and, standing outside, waved at the man with the heated, devouring gaze, "You get busy too, pick up tonight."

With those words, she didn’t wait for him to respond, turning swiftly and heading into the building.

Lucas King stood outside of the car, noticing the boss in the back seat was lingering in his gaze, dared not close the car door.

After a mont, seeing the boss blink, he finally asked, "President Hart, did the persuasion work? Did Mrs. Hart change her mind?"

Christopher shot a cold glance, softly uttering two words, "She left."

Really, which pot wouldn’t open, which pot would he bring up? Did she look like she’d changed her mind?

Lucas instantly understood, quickly silenced himself, closed the car door, and returned to the front passenger seat.

Alia entered the building, hiding in an invisible corner, watching the powerful Lincoln One leave with a soft sigh of relief, then imdiately pulled out her phone to make a call.

"Little Jacob, co find at the company, I have sothing I need your help with."

She hadn’t expected Christopher to have caught her right as she returned ho, so she couldn’t handle the next matters herself, fearing he might discover it. Luckily, there was Jacob Garcia she could rely on for errands.
