Christopher was surrounded by the children playing around him when they reached the villa entrance. He noticed that their mother hadn’t followed and turned back to look at her.

Seeing her standing still with her phone in hand and a troubled expression, the smile on his face paused, "Alia, what’s wrong?"

"Mom, co quickly! Look, aren’t we amazing? We almost made Dad fly!" The children shouted excitedly to their mother, seeking praise.

Alia felt uneasy. After a mont’s hesitation, she forced a smile and walked forward, "Babies, Mommy has to go to the office for sothing. You push Daddy ho first and go eat, okay?"

"Huh? Mom, you haven’t had dinner yet!" Noah said worriedly, pulling her arm. "Mom, eat before you go, okay?"

Christopher observed her expression, how could he not see that she was troubled?

"Noah, take your siblings inside and see if Aunt Harper has laid out lunch." Christopher turned his wheelchair around and patted his eldest son’s head as he instructed.

Noah, understandingly seeing that Mom and Dad had sothing to discuss, nodded in agreent and quickly led his siblings inside.

The look on Christopher’s face also beca serious as he raised his eyes to hers, "Now, can you tell what’s happened? Who called?"

Alia wanted to hide it.

But her insistence on leaving now made it impossible to hide it from Christopher.

"Alia... Didn’t we agree that we wouldn’t again—"

"It’s a call from your family." Before he could finish, she looked up to et his deep, introspective gaze, answering hastily.

Christopher’s words stopped abruptly and his face beca stiff.

In an instant, his eyes darkened, and the whole atmosphere turned gloomy.

"What do they want from you? Ignore it!" Christopher assud it was his parents making things difficult for her again and grabbed her hand, "Co, let’s go ho and eat."

"Christopher..." Alia held onto his hand, her expression twisted, "It’s Michael Garcia causing trouble at your house, saying... if you want to marry , you need to give a dowry or else..."

Only now did she understand why, when Michael ca to the office looking for her, he said, "You want to marry into a wealthy family? Better ask if I agree"—no wonder, he had planned to go to the Hart Family estate to "demand a price"!

That scumbag!

Does he have no bottom line as a human being?

To him, is his daughter just a re stepping stone, devoid of any familial bond?

Christopher’s face slightly changed, clearly surprised. It took a mont before he said, "He’s really a cornered dog, coming up with such a trick! He’s entirely shaless!"

Alia let out a bitter laugh, "His heart is already black, what does he need a face for?"

Christopher thought briefly, "Don’t bother with him, let him demand what he wants, my parents are no pushovers either!"

Before he finished speaking, Christopher’s phone rang again.

It was Wendy Hart calling.

Alia saw the screen and knew they couldn’t escape this situation today. She sighed, "Take it! It’s definitely about this."

If it was only about his parents, Christopher would definitely not pay heed.

But now, with Michael Garcia involved, the matter had beco complicated.

If not handled properly, Alia wouldn’t be at ease either.

He frowned gloomily, answering the call, "Hello."

"Brother! Do you know who’s causing trouble at our house? That Fox Spirit’s father! What kind of person is he? Even the most despicable hoodlums don’t stoop so low! He said his daughter gave our family three children, demanding ten million per child, at least thirty million total! And he said if you want to marry that Fox Spirit, the bride price is fifty million! Why doesn’t he just die!"

"Mom was still thinking of you, didn’t want to tell you! Brother! We’re family, Mom and Dad worked so hard to raise you and give you your current status, are you really going to repay their kindness with ingratitude, infuriating Mom to death for a woman?"

"Her health is poor and she just got out of the hospital days ago, and you know about Dad’s heart problems. He’s been cautious for years to prevent it from worsening. If you upset them like this, won’t you regret it for the rest of your life?! Can you really continue being with that woman with a clear conscience?"

Christopher held the phone to his ear with one hand while he tightly clenched the armrest of the wheelchair with the other.

"Got it, I’ll head over to handle it right now."

Alia was extrely worried. Hearing what he said, she looked at the bodyguards standing at the villa entrance and called them over, "Take Mr. Hart to the Hart Family estate."

The bodyguards looked uneasy and turned to Christopher.

Seeing his depressed expression and the cold, intense aura around him without objection, they imdiately responded and called over a few more bodyguards.

Alia, with no ti to explain to the children, hurriedly followed Christopher into the car, calling Fuller to ask him and Aunt Harper to watch the kids as they would be late returning ho.

The Navigator Lincoln sped swiftly along the wide, smooth private road.

Seated beside him, Alia watched the man hang up the phone. His expression was so grim and intimidating, it sent chills down her spine.

After a pause, she finally spoke softly, "I’m sorry, I didn’t think Michael Garcia would do this..."

"Silly girl, what are you apologizing for?" Christopher snapped back to reality, looking over at her with a noticeably gentler expression.

Alia gazed down dejectedly, her long lashes casting shadows, "Even though I don’t want to acknowledge him as my father, blood relations can’t be severed. This situation was caused by him, so I’m naturally responsible. Your parents already don’t like , with this disruption, I’m afraid..."

She didn’t continue, but imagining the scenario made it clear how intense it would be.

Christopher couldn’t bear to see her like this. Heartachingly, he held her hand, pulling her closer to him, "At this ti, you shouldn’t be thinking about all of that. Since we decided to be together, we should face these challenges together, think of solutions together."

"A solution?" She shook her head against his shoulder, her voice filled with despair, "I’m afraid there isn’t one..."

Christopher looked down at her, speaking seriously, "Alia, no matter what, I won’t allow you to think about leaving again."

She didn’t say anything, leaving him unsure of what she truly thought.

Seeing her silence, he beca imdiately tense, lifting her shoulders up to sit upright, "Alia Garcia! Did you hear ? No matter who opposes, you can’t decide to leave on your own—otherwise, I will... scour the ends of the earth to find you, and chain you to my side, never letting you go free!"

He spoke with such gritted intensity, it left no room for doubt.

Alia looked into his tense and profound eyes, hesitated for two seconds, then nodded, "Alright, I won’t go... this ti, we’ll face it together."

Hearing this, Christopher’s stern and cold deanor slightly softened, wrapping his arm around her and turning his face to kiss her forehead effortlessly.

"Don’t worry, with here... even if the sky falls, I’ll protect you all."
