The next second, Hope ran to the doorway, surprised, "Dad! Why are you here?"

Christopher picked up his daughter and gave her a kiss, "Dad ca for breakfast. Is the breakfast mom made delicious?"

"Mhm, of course, it’s delicious!"

The father and daughter laughed together, their gaze turning together toward the woman with the cold face.

What could Alia say?

Christopher, holding his child, walked inside, squeezing past the woman.

The woman had no choice but to close the door and turn to enter the house.

Christopher, with his daughter in his arms, sat back down at the dining table, surveying the room with curiosity. "There doesn’t seem to be any sign of children living here. Do those two little boys never follow you?"

Alia was blunt, "None of your business."

The man wasn’t annoyed and turned to ask his daughter, "Hope, did you have fun playing with little brother yesterday?"

Alia’s heart suddenly raced!

"It was fun!" Hope casually answered.

"Just one little brother or two?" he continued to ask.

Alia’s heartbeat quickened.

Fortunately, Hope had been instructed many tis on this question, and she lied without even blinking, "Of course, only one!"

Just one...

"Was it the little brother Aunt Snow Fitch brought over?"

"Mhm."

Christopher smiled and then looked back at Alia, "I’m really curious. How did you brainwash our daughter to go along with your lies so well?"

Alia slamd a bowl and chopsticks in front of him with annoyance, "I don’t know what you’re talking about!"

Since he couldn’t get to the bottom of it, Christopher let the topic go and began to speak about sothing else while eating breakfast. "Hope is really looking forward to her birthday because it is the first one since mom ca back. I plan to throw a proper birthday party to celebrate, not just her birthday, but also the success of her surgery—you..."

The man deliberately paused mid-sentence, his eyes playful and profound, "You wouldn’t plan to run off, would you? I’ve also invited your best friend, told her to bring that little brat along to the party."

Alia was inwardly panicking but maintained her composure, "It’s Hope’s birthday, of course, I’ll attend. Who you want to invite is your business, there’s no need to tell ."

The man chuckled, staring at her, "Since you’re attending, bring those two kids along too. Hope lacks playmates; it’s livelier with more children."

Alia looked at him, and her chewing stopped.

President Hart continued to smile as soothingly as a gentle breeze, noticing her freeze with an air of great satisfaction.

The woman was silent for a few seconds, then resud eating, speaking indifferently, "That might not be possible. Kane has to return to the country in a few days, and he might take them along."

"Is that so? How unfortunate."

"Yes," fearing he might think she was lying, Alia added for more credibility, "One of his friends ca over yesterday, it seed like an urgent matter, he needs to rush back."

She shouldn’t have ntioned this, for as soon as she did, it opened a new avenue of thought for Christopher!

How could he forget? He now had his "eyes" around that foreigner too!

Seeing the sudden change in his expressions, as if coming to an epiphany, Alia glanced at him questioningly, "What’s wrong? Don’t believe ? I have no reason to lie to you, if you do not—"

"No, I believe you." Christopher recovered his wits, interrupting her, then sped up his eating.

Alia frowned, puzzled by his strange reactions.

Christopher cursed himself internally for being so foolish!

He had thought about it all night and sohow forgot about the woman Benny Palr had brought ho!

After finishing breakfast and setting down his utensils, he pulled out his phone and contacted a buddy on WhatsApp.

Unfortunately, Young Master Palr, who was on a long holiday, was still sound asleep.

Unable to make a phone call in front of Alia, he anxiously waited for a response on WhatsApp.

Finally, Hope put down her utensils, and before Alia could say anything, Christopher couldn’t wait any longer and stood up to call, "Sweetheart, let’s go."

The woman looked at him, "What’s the rush? You’re still chewing."

"I’m short on ti."

"If you’re busy, I can take her for another day."

Christopher suddenly looked at her, his captivating eyes filled with an unfathomable emotion.

Alia was perplexed and stamred, "Why... why are you looking at like that?"

He smiled, "You wouldn’t be thinking of running away with your daughter, would you?"

Alia’s face stiffened, and she paused for a second before retorting sarcastically, "I might want to run, but I’d have to be able to escape first! Who forcefully dragged back from the airport last ti?"

Now that it was brought up, she didn’t hold back and went on the offensive, "Christopher, you’re well into your thirties, an adult, so why act so childishly absurd? You tore up my passport and visa; do you have any idea how that could ruin important things for when it matters most?"

What if she had urgent work requiring her to return to Zurich and she found out at the airport she couldn’t leave—that would drive soone mad, wouldn’t it?

Christopher, with a half-smile, his handso face slightly lowered, raised an eyebrow and looked at her, "It seems you have indeed thought about running away, otherwise you wouldn’t have noticed the passport and visa destroyed."

"I noticed a long ti ago, not just now! I simply couldn’t be bothered to argue with you, I didn’t want to talk to you!"

Christopher still had a smirk on his face as he continued to stare at her for a while, then took a slow breath, "Save your energy—it’d be a piece of cake for to find you, even if you ran away to the ends of the earth. Just stay put and focus on your work."

He hadn’t looked for her in the past because she was believed to have "passed away."

But now that he knew she was alive and well, how could he let her continue to escape?

"Hope, let’s go." The man picked up his daughter, kissed her, and coaxed, "Say goodbye to mommy, we’ll play with mommy again in a couple of days."

The little girl was used to this routine of staying a few days at mommy’s place and then a few at daddy’s; she obediently waved goodbye, "Bye, mommy."

Alia, reluctant to part with her daughter, stepped forward and lifted her face, "Give mommy a kiss before you go."

Hope leaned in to kiss her, but an even faster move stole the kiss on her mother’s cheek.

Alia realized she had been unexpectedly kissed by Christopher and imdiately froze as if she had been shocked.

"Alright, daddy kissed for you, let’s go."

The man walked away with a smile like a cat that got the cream, holding his daughter.

Alia was dumbstruck, took a while to move, then raised her hand to rub the spot where he had kissed, turning around with an icy expression to tidy up the dishes.

Madman!

They had plainly agreed to go their separate ways, and now he was crossing the line with these actions.

And he said it was for his daughter.

Thug!

Christopher, having left the house, eagerly took out his phone as soon as he stepped into the elevator and called his friend.

But there was no answer for a long ti.

Back in the car, he stuffed the little girl into the vehicle and instructed, "Buckle up in the safety seat; daddy needs to make a phone call."

He shut the rear door, not rushing to get in the car, and harassed Benny Palr again.

This ti, the call finally connected.

"Hello... Didn’t we agree you’d give a long vacation, so why are you calling now—" Benny Palr was indeed still asleep, grumpy at being woken up.

Christopher cut straight to the point, "Tell that woman to find a way to get pictures of those two little boys around that foreigner, or at least snap a few secret shots if she sees them."

Benny was taken aback, confused, "What woman, kids, pictures?"

"The woman you brought back! I need to confirm if the boy with Kane is the ’nephew’ that Snow Fitch usually has with her. I suspect that child might be Alia’s!"

"...What?" Benny sat up startled, his tongue twisted in shock.

"You an Alia had another child with soone abroad?"

"Perhaps... And it’s also possible—"

It’s also possible that back then, Alia didn’t just have a daughter, Hope.

But such a speculation was too bold for now, without any evidence.
