"Did you go to my house?" Alia Garcia was startled.
Christopher Hart didn’t reply but instead asked, "Where the hell are you? Did you take Hope to see that little boy again?"
Alia’s heart raced as if it was about to burst from her throat.
Usually, she prided herself on her quick reactions, but at that mont, her mind went blank, not knowing how to respond.
Was he so eager to co and probe personally?
"Why aren’t you talking?"
"Uh... the signal isn’t very good." Alia scrambled for a la excuse, her short-circuited brain finally kicking back in, calming down sowhat, "Hope said she wanted to play with her little brother, so I brought her. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely bring her back tonight."
"Where are you, I’ll co to pick you up."
"No need, we’re about to leave."
Christopher laughed and suddenly asked, "How many nephews does Snow Fitch have, exactly?"
Her heartbeat skipped, "What do you an?"
The man got straight to the point, "Did you see the post online? A paparazzo followed us and took quite a few photos, including your... lover."
Alia didn’t speak, but her heart started to panic again.
She thought he would investigate secretly, but who knew he would directly ask!
How should she respond?
"That paparazzo captured your lover often taking two kids out, since you’re together, you must know what’s the deal with those two kids?"
"Of course I know."
"Oh? What’s your relationship to them?"
Alia was so nervous she felt on fire, and in a flash of inspiration, she said, "Those two kids are adopted by him and , what about it?"
Christopher couldn’t help but laugh, "Adopted?"
"Yeah."
"How co I’ve never heard you ntion that?"
"We’re neither relatives nor friends, why would I tell you these things?" She retorted as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
At first, this reason was just a desperate, temporary reaction from her brain.
But after saying it, Alia suddenly realized this excuse might work.
"I gave birth to Hope risking my life, but I couldn’t take care of her and had to leave her with you. I missed my daughter day and night, nearly fell into depression, Kane wanted to cheer up, to divert my attention, so he adopted two children. Over the years, they have brought a lot of joy and comforted my heart over losing Hope."
Christopher scornfully sneered, "You think I’d believe your bullshit?"
"Whether you believe it is your business. We’ve been divorced for years; what kind of life I live, what choices I make, do I need to make you believe?"
She suddenly spoke with conviction, leaving Christopher speechless.
What she said made so sense.
"Well, do you have any more questions?"
Christopher wasn’t polite and went back to the original question: "You haven’t answered how many nephews Snow Fitch really has?"
"One, of course! That’s not a secret."
"Is the little boy she always takes out really her nephew?"
It was Alia’s turn to laugh coldly, "What do you an by that question? If soone takes their own nephew out for fun, what’s it to you? Are you going to ddle in that too?"
"Originally, it wasn’t my business, but since the kid is always hanging around my daughter, I have to be cautious."
"Sick! Hope has the freedom to make friends."
"But I’m afraid she’s being deceived, especially by her own mother."
"You’re overthinking it." Alia coldly dropped a line, annoyed, "I’m hanging up. I won’t bring Hope back today; seeing your craziness, don’t scare the child."
As she finished, she didn’t wait for a response from the man and ended the call first.
Christopher Hart sat in his office, staring at his phone that now only emitted a dial tone, the corners of his mouth curling into a aningful smile.
He had not actually gone to Alia’s house.
With bodyguards following her, finding her whereabouts wasn’t difficult.
But oddly enough, despite days of tracking, they never saw her taking two little boys out.
If those boys were truly adopted by her and Kane, why would she never accompany them?
And the "nephew" Snow frequently took out, was he really one of those two boys?
A knock sounded at the office door, and Lucas King entered.
Christopher glanced at him, knowing from his expression that things hadn’t gone well.
Lucas approached tentatively, "President Hart, Jade Fitch’s secretary replied that the financing deal is already settled, they don’t need Seal-Cloud at the mont but look forward to future cooperation."
The man behind the desk didn’t speak, his face darkening.
"And..."
Lucas swallowed, unintentionally nervous, "That... the residential complex where the lady used to live, I went there, but the property managent said that their elevator surveillance footage only retains for about a month before it gets overridden, so... I didn’t find the footage of the children."
Christopher lost his temper.
These unfortunate incidents were just too coincidental.
Lucas waited for his boss’s outburst, but a while passed in complete silence.
He peeked at his boss and pursed his lips, "If you have no further instructions... I’ll get busy."
As he turned and nearly reached the door, the tense and displeased voice ca from behind, "Get soone to look into Jade Fitch’s son."
Lucas paused for a second, then nodded, "Yes."
Now, the focus was whether the boy with Kane was indeed Snow’s "nephew."
If not, Alia’s words had a high credibility—perhaps they were indeed adopted by them.
If so, then there was a big problem.
She could easily take Hope out to play with their adopted children, so why go through the trouble of having Snow act as a go-between?
Unless she wanted to hide the true identity of the children.
And to prove this, they’d either have to find out what Jade’s son really looked like or get a clear frontal photo of the two boys and have a Fitch family relative identify them, thus revealing the truth.

After ending the call with Christopher Hart, Alia had cold sweat dripping down her back.
He was too terrifying, utterly unpredictable.
Snow was right; once he beca suspicious, he would definitely find a way to investigate.
What to do now? She absolutely couldn’t let him confirm that the boy with Kane was indeed the "nephew" Snow Fitch always had with her.
Thus, all possible traces had to be erased.
"Mommy... what did that man say?" Noah was concerned about her and hadn’t left. Seeing his mother silent for so long after the call, he asked curiously.
"Noah, co with mommy..." Alia suddenly took her son’s hand and went back to the living room, then signaled for her assistant, "Shaw, bring your laptop over."
"Oh, okay!" Shaw imdiately fetched the laptop and handed it to her.
"Noah, did Kane teach you how to enter the surveillance system?"
The little guy imdiately understood, "Mommy wants to watch the surveillance?"
"Yes, the elevator surveillance in the building where mommy lived. Did Kane tell you about it, do you rember?"
"Sure, piece of cake!"
Noah opened the laptop; despite being barely five years old, his fingers danced quickly over the keyboard, dazzlingly fast.
"Mommy, what are you looking for?"
"Need to remove the footage of you and your brother."
"Got it!"
Kane sent a WhatsApp ssage, soothing her not to worry and to wait for news.
