Christopher turned around and looked at her, his deep eyes still trembling.

They had truly loved each other.

From childhood sweethearts, their first hand-holding, their first hug, their first kiss—all belonged to each other.

It was so beautiful, so pure, so warm, so... unforgettable.

But now, could the broken mirror really not be nded?

The atmosphere was stagnant. Christopher knew she really didn’t want to see him at the mont, so he did not stay to bother her.

He looked at his watch and slowly exhaled to calm himself, "Thank you for telling everything today. Since you can stay with Hope, I won’t take her with . My company’s affairs are rather busy these days."

After speaking, he walked to the living room, crouched down, and rubbed his daughter’s tender cheeks, "Baby, daddy’s going to work now. Mommy will play with you. Call if you miss daddy."

Hope frowned, "Daddy, are you and mommy fighting again?"

"No, daddy is apologizing to mommy."

"Oh, did mommy forgive you then?"

He smiled slightly, aningfully, "You’ll have to ask Mommy about that."

He ruffled his daughter’s hair, stood up, glanced at Alia, and headed for the door.

Alia did not see him out.

Christopher walked to the door, looked back, and seeing that she did not intend to co, silently turned around, opened the door, and left.

The living room quieted down. Alia stood where she was drinking water, still motionless for a long ti.

Hope walked up and gently took her hand, shaking it, "Mommy..."

She looked down at her daughter with a slight smile, "Are you full?"

"Um..." The little girl nodded, her cute and innocent large eyes glistening, "Mommy, do you forgive daddy?"

Alia crouched down, grasped her daughter’s fragile hand, and sighed, "Mommy can forgive daddy, but—"

"But can we—"

Hope’s eyes brightened, but she was hushed as Alia continued, "whether or not I forgive doesn’t change the fact that daddy and mommy are separated."

Though she wanted to comfort her daughter, temporary lies needed more lies to sustain them; she didn’t want her daughter to grow up, understand, and resent her for deception.

From having no mother to having one was already unexpected happiness.

She believed her little girl would soon adapt to the fact that her parents were not living together.

Hope pouted and turned away, sitting down on the sofa, "I must be the most, most pitiful child in the world..."

Alia: "..."

————

Hope stayed with Alia for two days. Christopher sent Aunt Harper and Fuller to take the little girl back.

Initially, she worried that eting Christopher would be awkward, but strangely relieved that he didn’t show up at all, she felt an odd sense of unease.

But soon, she understood why.

Snow Fitch, holding a Gossip headline, mockingly said, "That was quick, wasn’t it? Just broke off the engagent with Lily Garcia, and not long ago there was uncertainty between you two. And now, he’s already seen with the popular new starlet—tsk, what a scumbag! Playboy!"

Gossip news revealed that the recent popular starlet Mia Davis had the Seal-Cloud Corporation’s CEO—Christopher—as her financial backer.

Before, such news would have been a scandal, and Mia would inevitably have been stripped bare by netizens.

But now, Christopher was a free man.

Whether from the circles of socialites or the Entertainnt Circle, countless beauties and stars were eager to latch onto this big tree.

Mia Davis, with her youth, beauty, and fa, quickly ascended to the throne, provoking the envy of many.

Alia Garcia looked at the picture and glanced at the comnts below.

Apart from so sour remarks, most were still expressions of admiration and infatuation.

Everyone said that Christopher was indeed too handso and too charming, and that Mia was incredibly lucky to even hold his hand once, as it would leave her heart fluttering for a lifeti.

She looked on, her expression calm, feeling nothing much.

Snow watched her and asked, "Why aren’t you saying anything?"

"What is there to say?"

"Don’t you feel anything when you see this?"

Alia knew what her best friend ant and said indifferently, "I’d rather he let go and focused his attention on soone else. If he kept clinging to , then I’d really be in big trouble."

Now that she knew Christopher had found soone new, she indeed felt sowhat relieved.

At least, there was no need to rush away, and she could spend more ti with Hope and finish up the autumn launch event.

"So, you’re saying you don’t love him at all anymore? Even if he admitted his past mistakes and apologized, you wouldn’t feel a thing?"

Alia rolled her eyes, "Snow... weren’t you the one who said he and I aren’t suitable? You clearly know what my forr mother-in-law is like, don’t you?"

"Ah... Throughout history, how many worthy couples have been ruined by such crazy mothers-in-law!"

Snow lanted, looked at her watch, and then at the stylist behind Alia, asking, "How much longer? The event starts at six, and it’s already three. We still need to go to the venue to confirm the schedule."

Today was the autumn launch event for Venus Jewelry.

Alia had been busy with this lately.

After the event, she planned to take her two sons back to Zurich for a while.

And then return to her country during the Spring Festival to celebrate with Hope.

As the brand’s founder and chief designer, she was also one of the main stars of tonight’s event.

Thus, she had co to the styling salon at noon, needing a perfect head-to-toe package.

Urged by Snow, the stylist nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay, very soon, ten minutes!"

Soon, the makeup was done, and Alia stood up.

Her long hair was styled but not tied up, neatly gathered behind her shoulders, slightly covering her ears but not overshadowing her glittering earrings.

Her makeup was exquisite, her brows spirited, and her almond-shaped eyes enchantingly beautiful when she smiled.

For her outfit, for ease of movent, she chose not a skirt but a set of wide-legged white trousers paired with a blazer of the sa color.

However, she wasn’t wearing the blazer at the mont; the fabric’s cinched-waist design flawlessly outlined her figure.

She looked taller with the enhanced waistline and long legs, her heels clicking authoritatively, adding an air of imposing stature.

Snow stood beside her, looking into the mirror at her friend, as beautiful as a goddess and every bit as glamorous as a top actress, and clicked her tongue in admiration, "God is so unfair. Why did he grant you extraordinary talents and then also endow you with such stunning beauty? Perfect face, whatever, but also that curvaceous figure—"

"..." Alia smiled helplessly, "Thanks for the complints."

"Hehe..." Snow leaned in, whispering mysteriously, "Too bad Christopher isn’t here tonight, otherwise, seeing how enchanting you are, he’d surely ditch that little popular flower and run straight to you— Ouch!"

She didn’t finish her sentence before Alia elbowed her.

"Can you ever stop? Can we not ntion him?" Alia gave her a look.

Shaw, standing nearby, brought over her white blazer and helped her into it, then blinked, "Sis, I think Sister Snow Fitch is right!"

"That little popular flower is nothing compared to you! A man who is truly experienced and discerning would never go for such a vase-like delicate woman. I think a powerful queen like you deserves much more!"
