Ha! Lucas King was really frightened—this woman sure had guts!

Christopher raised his eyebrows upon hearing this, clearly not expecting her to answer back so boldly.

Still with a hint of inexplicable smile at the corners of his mouth, his eyes glead slyly, "If Mr. Christopher really had such intention, would Miss Norton dare?"

What did that an?

Alia's heart skipped a beat as she glared at him, her sarcasm growing: "Mr. Hart, don't flaunt yourself like a peacock because you have so money, it could get you plucked clean!"

Pfft—Lucas couldn't help but burst out laughing.

But, sensing his boss's deadly gaze, he imdiately straightened up.

Christopher withdrew his warning look from his subordinate and turned his attention back to the woman, his smile not fading but growing instead: "I was discussing a professional matter, Miss Norton. Why the personal attack in your anger?"

"Professional?"

"My fiancée wanted the bridal suite. Miss Norton submitted three initial drafts, none of which satisfied her—if Miss Norton is single, that would be understandable."

Implying that a single, love-starved woman couldn't possibly design a romantic, beautiful bridal series.

Alia was not dumb; she clearly understood the mockery in his words.

"Ha—since when does designing wedding dresses require one to be in love? Then should those who make wreaths and shrouds experience death themselves?"

Lucas's face elongated in shock.

This, this definitely wasn't the lady...

A lady should be gentle and reserved, not so tough!

Sure enough, Christopher's face tightened, the chill around him freezing, lowering the temperature several degrees.

The joyful, lodious piano music continued swirling around the room, miraculously soothing the tense atmosphere.

Christopher quickly let it go, his expression softening sowhat, "We've never t before, Miss Norton. Why are you so hostile towards ?"

Alia was stunned, realizing she might have been too aggressive, hoping he wouldn't notice.

The man watched her facial expressions, probing, "Could it be... we know each other? Have I offended you?"

"Sorry, I just don't like others prying into my private matters." She imdiately toned down, returning to normal.

The sound of the piano suddenly stopped as she was speaking.

Then, a sweet child-like voice ca through: "Daddy, I want so water."

Alia's heartbeat missed a beat as she turned her head at the sound, instantly captivated by the cute little figure that darted out from behind a door.

Seeing his daughter, Christopher's handso and cold face imdiately overflowed with tenderness, as he handed the little girl a cup of water, "How is it, tired?"

Hope took gulps of water, catching her breath and shaking her head, "Not tired, teacher said I played very well! Did you hear, daddy?"

"Yep, daddy heard it; it was great!" The man doted on her, gently tousling his daughter's tiny head.

Hope put down the water cup, turned to jump on the couch, and as she turned around, her large eyes widened in surprise!

"Mommy!" Barely touching the couch, she bounced up again and ran towards Alia.

Alia's heart instantly surged with excitent and joy, mixed with anxiety and fear!

Christopher did not stop her.

He had indeed promised to bring his daughter out to find "mommy".

"Mommy! Huh? Why is your hair white?" The little girl, who beca friendly on her own initiative, rushed over to Alia Garcia and climbed into her arms, her chubby, fair hands curiously grabbing Garcia's white hair.

"..." Alia Garcia was completely at a loss.

The daughter she had longed for was finally in front of her eyes, sitting right in her arms!

She had only seen this scene in her dreams before, but now, it was happening right before her eyes!

The little girl wore two fishtail braids, with curly ends tied into little flowers, so adorable that they lted hearts.

Alia Garcia stared blankly, her heartbeat continuously accelerating, as her cells excitedly jumped around.

"Sweetie, auntie isn't your mommy," she responded softly, her hands involuntarily lifting to gently touch the little girl's soft, chubby cheeks and round head.

"Auntie, this isn't white hair—it's just a style. Do you think it's pretty?"

"Pretty! If it were longer, you could braid it like Princess Elsa."

"Do you like Princess Elsa?"

"Mm-hmm!"

Alia Garcia blurted out, "Then should auntie dress up as Princess Elsa next ti?"

"Can you?" Hope Hart was overjoyed, her eyes as round as a cat's, sparkling brightly. She turned around and shouted, "Daddy, mommy said she can be Princess Elsa!"

Christopher Hart raised his voice, "She's not mommy."

"Then let her be my mommy!"

With the innocence of a child, Hope Hart blurted out, catching both parties off guard.

Their eyes t—Alia Garcia clearly avoided looking directly, while Christopher Hart remained still, apparently not opposed to this "ridiculous" suggestion.

"Daddy..." Seeing the adults unmoved, the little girl jumped down from Alia Garcia's lap and returned to her father's embrace to start acting coquettishly, "I really like this mommy! Please let her be my mommy! Please..."

Christopher Hart remained smiling, indulging his daughter's whims.

Suddenly, the room door was knocked, and everyone looked over, only to see Lily Garcia pushing the door open and entering!

"Christopher..." Her voice was sickeningly sweet as she smiled eagerly, approaching him, "I ca to see the pianos with a friend, and the manager ntioned you were here for Hope's lesson, what a coincidence!"

In truth, she had bribed the household maid to find out that Christopher Hart had an appointnt in the piano store with a designer that afternoon, so she purposefully brought a friend to look at pianos.

Hope Hart glanced back, as if seeing nothing, then turned and wrapped her arms around her father's neck to continue acting coquettishly, "Daddy~please, I want her to be my mommy! Please agree, please agree!"

Lily Garcia was utterly confused, "Hope, what are you talking about? What Mom..."

She couldn't finish her question as she caught sight of the woman sitting on the other side of the sofa. Her words suddenly stopped, and her pupils visibly dilated as she staggered backward.

Seeing her reaction, Alia Garcia couldn't help but sneer inside.

As the saying goes, innocent people are unafraid of ghosts knocking at midnight.

Could Lily Garcia's reaction be understood to an she had done too many wrongs and wronged herself? Hence, she was scared to death?

"Lily...Lily Garcia—" Lily Garcia was pale, muttering under her breath, her eyes lower then rise again, "You...you aren't dead..."

Alia Garcia felt like standing up and saying: Yes, to your disappointnt!

Unfortunately, she couldn't.

She sat elegantly, nodding and smiling slightly at the stunned Lily Garcia, "Hello, I am Clarke Norton, I presu you are Mr. Hart's fiancée."

"Clarke...Clarke Norton—" Lily Garcia gradually regained her composure, her gaze steadying slightly as she stared at Alia Garcia again and took a closer look, finally relaxing, "No, it's not her, she looks like... quite like, but much more beautiful, with a different aura..."
