Snow Fitch was holding Ethan’s hand, standing in the deserted living room, and deliberately raised her voice as she looked up at them.

Christopher frowned, clearly displeased, and let go of the woman in his arms while still keeping one hand on her shoulder, then turned to look downstairs.

Alia Garcia shook off his hand, widening the distance between them, and without feigning concern about why her best friend had arrived, she headed downstairs.

Snow’s eyes were bloodshot as she whispered low, "What’s going on? Did he force himself on you?"

"It’s nothing." She didn’t want to say too much in front of her son.

Her gaze shifted to her son, and she took advantage of the mont before the man approached to blink and smile.

Ethan had long been "brainwashed" by Snow and smiled back politely, "Hello, beautiful Auntie."

Christopher soon approached and mocked, "Is this how the Fitch family teaches children? Barely out of diapers and already flirting with won."

Alia turned back to glare at him.

What nonsense was he spouting!

Snow was even less polite, "Can’t you say sothing nice to a child for once? Besides, don’t you know whether your ex-wife is pretty? Is calling her a beautiful auntie wrong?"

Although Christopher was known for his sharp tongue, he wasn’t petty enough to argue with a child.

He was just taking out his frustration.

"Why are you here so early?"

Snow was puzzled, "Didn’t you say for us to co over for lunch?"

"..."

"I know we ruined your fun, and you’re upset, but who told you not to find a more secluded place?" Snow continued to tease.

"Snow!" Alia wished she could kick her.

Christopher was rendered speechless, touched his nose, turned back to Alia Garcia, and commanded in the tone of instructing the hostess, "You will have lunch with them at noon. Hope can only go up to play after she wakes up on her own."

Alia and Snow were both surprised.

What did he an?

"Aren’t you having lunch at ho?" Alia asked.

"No, I don’t like little children."

"..." This hypocrisy was truly unbeatable.

With those words, the man brushed past and took his car keys from the hall, then left straight out the door.

Alia looked at her best friend; their mouths agape with unexpected joy, and then they both turned to Ethan—

The three of them held their breath, focused, and once the car sounds from the courtyard faded, they burst into cheers!

"Shh! Shh!"

Alia hurriedly gestured for them to be quiet, looking around like a thief and then beckoned them upstairs.

"There are many servants in the house; you should still be careful."

"Don’t worry, we know."

"Mama, is my sister sleeping?"

"Yes, let’s go up and see her, then co down for lunch. We can play after she wakes up."

"Okay."

Alia joyfully patted her son’s head, then suddenly frowned.

"Co here, did your brother get angry?"

Ethan boasted, "Even if he did, there’s nothing he can do. We wrestled, and he lost."

"Wrestling? Was that Kane’s bad idea?"

Snow interjected, "It was , it was ."

"You..." Alia clenched her teeth in restraint, "Can’t you teach him sothing good for once!"

"Ah, Ethan hasn’t seen his sister in a long ti. I thought we couldn’t win by wits, so we had to rely on brawn."

"..." Alia was speechless.

When they entered the bedroom, Hope was indeed still asleep, with Aunt Harper accompanying her.

Seeing the little boy, Aunt Harper couldn’t help but look a few tis longer.

Those eyes...

But when she saw him calling Snow Auntie, she cast aside the doubts in her heart.

"There, let’s go down for lunch. We can co back and play once your sister wakes up." Alia gently instructed the little boy, then inford Aunt Harper and left with Snow and Ethan.

In the dining room, lunch was already prepared.

Ethan’s big eyes whirled as he looked around.

Alia filled a bowl with soup and set it in front of him, asking softly, "Looking for sothing?"

The little guy said mysteriously, "Mom, he’s not ho, let’s just steal sister and run away!"

"..." Alia glanced at her son, helpless.

Indeed, it’s hard to be both brave and smart.

Snow tapped him and said, "Silly! You think your Scumbag Father is as dumb as you? You think just because you can’t see anyone now, there’s no one in the house?"

Who knows how many invisible bodyguards and servants there are!

But speaking of this, Snow also beca curious, "Do you think he’s deliberately testing you? To see if you’d take a desperate leap?"

"Maybe..." Alia smiled wryly.

Looking at the table full of delicacies that catered to her tastes—what she liked, what should be prepared without certain seasonings—her heart, which had finally cald, started to stir again.

When had he instructed the kitchen to prepare this lunch? And even specified her preferences?

The words from their recent kiss echoed in her ears; she looked down, suddenly feeling a sting in her eyes and a punch to her nose.

Snow noticed her emotional change and asked softly, "What’s wrong? Touched again, aren’t you?"

"No." She imdiately perked up, lifted her head, and cautioned her son, "Eat up, so you can play with your sister once she wakes."

Snow had known her for so many years, how could she not understand what was in her heart?

Since she wasn’t willing to admit it, let’s pretend not to know, then.

Although they often joked, to be honest, she didn’t actually support the idea of them getting back together.

To love and to cherish wasn’t simply about having emotions.

Wealthy families can run as deep as oceans, and her best friend didn’t even have a warm, original family to fall back on. If Christopher couldn’t truly love and protect her, even if they got back together, the passion would fade and conflicts would arise.

In their reckless youth, it seed that love was everything, and being in love was enough.

Only with the passage of ti do you understand that loving is easy, but living together is hard.

So, better to just be a dazzling single mother!

After all, the hardest tis are already behind her; no matter how bitter or tiring the days ahead, they couldn’t surpass those first few years when the baby was born.

Although Christopher wasn’t at ho, he had everything under his full control.

When Benny Palr saw him distracted during his al, constantly checking his phone, curiosity struck, and he snatched the phone away.

Seeing the content on the screen, he was surprised.

"Alia is at your place?"

"What Alia? Are you close with her?" Christopher asked irritably as he grabbed back his phone.

Benny huffed, reminding him, "I’ve known her as long as you have. Are we close or not?"

"..." President Hart fell silent.

"What’s this about? You’re set on remarrying her?" Benny asked curiously.

The ntion of those two words irritated Christopher, and his expression darkened.

Young Master Palr understood him well, chuckled, and said, "Seems like you’re head over heels."

"Eat your food!"

"You called out here to give you advice, didn’t you? Why the cold shoulder now?"

"..."

Young Master Palr sat up, leaning on the table with his elbow, holding chopsticks as he began to pontificate.

"Most won are soft-hearted, and besides, there’s a child between you two. What are you afraid of?"

"Persistent wooing, relentless effort, I don’t believe you can’t win her over."

"If that doesn’t work, get Hope on your side! Find a way to have her stay the night, and when it’s just a man and a woman, sparks will fly..."

"Are you asking for a beating?" Christopher interrupted his imagination.
