Alia Garcia didn’t have to visit the hospital to care for her daughter, so for two days in a row, she finished work early and went ho to spend ti with her long-neglected sons.
However, what "broke her heart" was that her boys didn’t care whether Mom was there or not; they were eager to visit their sister in the hospital.
"Brother went last ti, and I didn’t get to go, so now it’s my turn!" Ethan insisted.
While eating durian, Noah asked, "Haven’t you been having a runny nose these past few days? You can’t visit your sister. What if you infect her?"
"I do not! I got better yesterday!"
"Really?" Noah purposefully waved the durian in front of his brother.
Unsurprisingly, Ethan, sensitive to the sll of durian, imdiately opened his mouth and shrugged his shoulders, "Achoo—"
Two impressive streams shot out of his nostrils.
Alia Garcia: "..."
This scheming was undoubtedly inherited from their father!
Noah stuffed the last piece of durian into his mouth, tore off a paper towel to wipe his hands, and thoughtfully offered one to his brother as well.
"How about we both go tomorrow? I’ll visit our sister, and you can visit the doctor—perfect!" Noah didn’t forget to kick his brother while he was down.
"I don’t want to!" Ethan quickly wiped his nose, which was about to "overflow," and complained angrily, "Mom, look at him! He’s so an!"
"How am I an? You’re the one who’s an, insisting on visiting our sister when you’re clearly sick. What are you thinking?"
"I’m not! You’re being unreasonable!"
"You’re the one being unreasonable."
Ethan, not as quick-witted, was unable to win against his brother and imdiately clung to Alia Garcia again.
"Mom, please bring our sister ho soon. I don’t want this brother anymore! Give him to that person! Humph!"
"I certainly won’t go; you go if you want to!"
Their arguing gave Alia a headache, and she suddenly longed for the days when she was by her daughter’s side.
No wonder they say daughters are like little padded jackets to their moms.
Unable to resolve the sibling feud, Alia quickly changed the subject.
"By the way, Noah, how did you persuade your sister not to tell that person about you two brothers?"
Alia had been curious about this for a long ti and never had the chance to ask.
Noah pursed his lips casually and said, "She might be cute, but she’s pretty clueless. When Aunt Snow Fitch ca to take her to the hospital that day, I told her that she mustn’t tell anyone about having two older brothers, or else they’d turn into bubbles and fly away."
The little guy spread his hands, "And she believed it."
Alia Garcia: "..."
Having spent those days with her daughter, she noticed that the little girl was indeed not as sharp as her brothers, but she wasn’t as "dim-witted" as her brother had described.
With a soft spot for her daughter, she feigned anger, "Don’t talk about your sister like that. She was born premature; her brain hadn’t fully developed yet. The fact that she survived and has grown this big is already a miracle."
Ethan giggled, "Mom, is it because the sister is like you that she’s so dumb and silly? Even you’re making excuses! Humph, my brother and I were also born prematurely!"
"Hey you little thing!" Alia Garcia looked at her youngest son, and grabbing his ear, she pulled him over, "You’ve grown up and gotten brave, daring to make fun of your mother now, huh?"
"Hehe, it’s true. Aunt Snow said the brother is like that person, and the sister is like you."
"Is that so?" It seed her best friend was to bla, but Alia still felt the need to defend herself, "Do you think your mother is very silly?"
"Hehe, sotis——"
She then asked, "If the brother is like that person, and the sister is like , who do you resemble?"
"I’m a mix of both of you! Half of each."
Alia rewarded him with a flick on the forehead and spat, "We can’t let Aunt Fitch hang out with you anymore, always teaching you bad things!"
Noah looked at his mom joking and playing with his little brother, and suddenly said seriously, "I don’t want to be like that guy! And I think he’s pretty dumb too."
Alia looked at her eldest son, puzzled.
The little guy explained, "Isn’t that how it is on TV? A dad sees his long-lost son and recognizes him at first glance, rushing over to hug him excitedly?"
"..." A taphorical black line slid down Alia’s forehead.
So even such a young child was deeply ’poisoned’ by Aunt Jade’s dramas.
"But when I finally t him face-to-face, I got so scared, and he didn’t even recognize !" Noah shot a disdainful glance and shook his hand dismissively, "He’s not even old and his eyesight is already bad. I don’t want to be like him."
Listening to her son’s rant, Alia really wanted to record it and soday play it for soone.
But thinking that day might never co, she gave up on the idea and rubbed the top of her eldest son’s hair.
"Alright, it’s late, off to bed now."
"Mm, goodnight, Mom! Rember to find a way to take us to see our sister!"
The brothers reminded her again, laughing and scuffling as they ran back to their bedroom.
After the two children had fallen asleep, Alia intended to work a little longer, but staring at the blueprints, she found no inspiration at all and couldn’t draw anything.
Her sons’ request, however, remained in her heart.
Maybe, when it was ti to leave, she should find a way to let the two brothers et their sister, as if to say goodbye.
With no mind to work, she simply went to sleep.
Just as she lay down and turned off the lights, her phone rang.
She picked it up, her eyes becoming slightly heavier, and she cut the call without hesitation.
But quickly, it rang again.
Unable to suppress her anger, she sat up and answered, "Christopher Hart, what on earth do you want? Lily Garcia is devoted to you, and you don’t care, but you have to bring your bad luck to . Are you out of your mind?"
"Mommy..." On the other end of the phone ca her daughter’s soft and dazed voice, tinged with a bit of timidity.
Alia’s heart lted in an instant, and she regretted her outburst imdiately, "Baby, it’s you... Why are you still up so late?"
"Mommy, I miss you, I can’t sleep..."
"..." Alia’s eyes imdiately felt like they were filled with sand.
"Mommy, daddy realizes his mistake, please forgive him. He said he’ll never make you angry again. Can you co and see us, please?"
As hard-hearted as she tries to be, against her daughter’s plea, she is always defenseless.
And thinking of how eagerly her sons also wanted to see their sister, she graciously decided to step down.
"Okay, in a few days when Mommy is done with work, I’ll co to see you, alright? It’s late now, ti to sleep so you can get well soon."
Hope obediently agreed, reassured by her mom’s promise.
Just as Alia was ready to hang up, suddenly a man’s voice ca from the other side, "Hope gets discharged the day after tomorrow, if you want to see her, co directly to our ho."
She was taken aback, not having ti to fuss over the surplus and quickly asked, "She’s being discharged so soon, is it okay?"
"The situation has stabilized, and it’s the sa to recuperate at ho as in the hospital."
After all, even a VIP luxury ward is not as comfortable as being at ho.
But Alia was still worried, "Maybe stay a few more days, I can pay for the dical expenses."
Her offer was purely out of a mother’s belief that she should contribute sothing for her daughter.
However, that provoked Christopher Hart.
"Pay for dical expenses?" The man turned and walked towards the hospital room’s exit, took a deep breath to calm himself, but still couldn’t suppress his anger, "Are you still thinking about how much money it would take to directly buy your daughter away from ?"
