Promi then took out the jade stone he had given Owen in the central city’s underground passages and tied it together with the dicine bottle on a string.

He hung both items around Owen’s neck and said, "This jade stone symbolizes your identity. Don’t lose it in the snow over a dicine bottle again."

"Yes."

Owen felt sowhat embarrassed, as if he had indeed forsaken an important item given by Elder Promi for a woman.

"In this world, those who recognize this jade stone are your allies."

"Then who exactly am I?"

"I’ll tell you later."

"You have three days to recover. There are Sanctuary’s secret techniques in the desk drawer; you can take a good look at them. They will help with your recovery."

"Yes." Having said his piece, Promi nodded and left the room.

Owen didn’t imdiately look into the Sanctuary’s secret techniques; he was trying to heal himself.

Around noon, a servant brought Owen his al, and Owen gleaned much information from the servant.

It turned out that Elder Promi held the status of an elder within the Sanctuary.

Although he rarely stayed on the mountain or accepted missions, no one dared to disrespect him in his presence.

His cultivation was extrely high, possibly even surpassing the current Grand Elder of the Sanctuary.

The position of the Sanctuary’s master was currently vacant, as the previous master had disappeared fifteen years ago and had been missing ever since.

The current head was the Grand Elder nad Romimi, who was over seventy years old and possessed formidable strength.

Elder Romimi is currently not on the mountain; after the empire went to war with the demon army, he was invited to the central city by the emperor and has not yet returned.

In his absence, the affairs of the Sanctuary are jointly managed by the other five elders.

These five are: Mizlo, Syshu, Kulaimi, ldir, and Deshu.

The youngest among them, the female elder ldir, is just over forty years old, while the other four are all above fifty.

This ti, Elder Promi brought Owen back to the mountain and introduced him as his newly acquired disciple, making Owen essentially his first disciple since Elder Promi has previously been quite unoccupied.

This has aroused the curiosity of many, including the servant who brought him his als.

However, he dared not ask too much, as Elder Promi had made it clear upon his return to the mountain that his disciple was his possession, and no one was allowed to approach his disciple, not even to inquire about his na.

The servant bringing Owen his als is recognized in the mountain as a honest man, which is why he had the opportunity to converse with Owen.

After eating, Owen walked around his room to stretch his limbs.

Perhaps because he had faced several life and death trials since the beginning of the war, not only had his cultivation gradually improved, but his recovery ability had significantly increased as well.

Owen found that despite recently recovering from serious injuries, his legs felt surprisingly light.

He sat down at the desk, opened the drawer, and began to study the stack of Sanctuary’s secret techniques laid out on the table.

To Owen’s surprise, the cultivation thods of the Sanctuary were completely different from the usual paths, possessing a unique system.

There were dozens of secret books.

About a dozen of them were various sword techniques of the Sanctuary, which, after so study, Owen found particularly interesting.

After researching for three days, his injuries had completely healed, and his cultivation had significantly improved.

On the fourth day after Owen had breakfast, Promi ca to Owen’s room.

He glanced at Owen’s condition and a look of satisfaction appeared on his face.

"Co with to a place."

"Where to?"

"The Sky Platform." Promi smiled slightly.

They left the room and headed towards the peak.

In the past few days, Owen had been so imrsed in his cultivation that he hadn’t left his room except to go to the bathroom, not even taking notice of the surroundings.

Now, he realized that besides the snow mountain he was on, there were buildings of the Sanctuary on three other snow mountains, with the main hall of the Sanctuary directly opposite his mountain.

"Here we are," Promi interrupted Owen’s awe, tossing him an iron sword.

"I know you’ve been studying the Gale Blade technique of the Sanctuary lately. Today, I’ll teach you."

The Sky Platform was actually the summit of the snow mountain, extrely flat as if it had been leveled by sword aura, hence the na.

The platform was about four ters in length and width, standing on it made one feel the insignificance of life.

It was said that people with unstable minds might even feel the urge to jump off.

Owen nodded; he had learned in recent days that "Gale Blade" was a sword technique of very high caliber within the Sanctuary.

Holding the iron sword, he stood facing Promi on the Sky Platform, with Promi standing with his back hand behind him and his left hand making a gesture indicating readiness to start.

With a thunderous sound, Owen swept out with his sword, channeling all his strength into the strike, causing the entire snow mountain to tremble along with it.

In an instant, Promi disappeared, and in the next second, Owen found his feet pressed into the rock beneath him, with Promi appearing above him, stepping on his head.

Instantly, Owen launched three sword auras upwards, each faster than the last.

However, Promi moved freely in the air, easily dodging these three sword auras and floating in front of Owen.

Owen understood he didn’t stand a sliver of a chance to win; Promi was much stronger than him.

His only goal was to land a hit on Promi.

Owen summoned a protective sword shadow, a technique he learned from the Sanctuary’s secret texts.

Nurous sword shadows, like lightning, encircled him, emitting unstable sounds of electric currents.

With a swing of his right hand, these sword shadows spread across the Sky Platform, bursting towards Promi.

Promi was surrounded by the sword shadows, the closest one almost touching his sleeve.

Suddenly, Promi vanished, then reappeared in front of Owen, flicking Owen’s iron sword with his finger.

The iron sword nearly flew out of Owen’s hand, and he had to step back two paces, stopping at the edge of the Sky Platform, as the sword shadows dissipated into the air uncontrolled.

He realized this was the Sanctuary’s secret technique for instant movent.

He hadn’t expected that in this distant human empire, there existed a Sanctuary with such formidable strength.

By all accounts, it shouldn’t be.

Owen decided to try that one move.

He held the sword with both hands and plunged the iron sword into the frozen earth in front of him, channeling all his arcanergy into the sword’s tip.

The tip sparked with a deep blue fla-like cold light.

He then lifted the iron sword violently, unleashing a torrent of arcanergy that ford a flood of sword aura enveloping the entire Sky Platform.

Promi’s figure flickered among the sword auras as they gradually expanded, filling the entire space.

Just like before, Promi vanished instantly, only to reappear at Owen’s right side.

However, this ti Owen was prepared.

As Promi disappeared in that instant, the flowing sword aura swiftly contracted towards Owen.

When Promi once again raised his hand towards the iron sword, the sword aura also struck Promi’s sleeve.

Contrary to expectations, there was no explosion sound; the sword aura quickly condensed into a point, leaving a small hole in Promi’s sleeve.

Promi’s movents didn’t stop as he pressed on the iron sword’s tip, Owen felt as if he was immobilized, experiencing Promi’s power as imnsely cold, not ordinary cold but more like icy darkness.

This was not regular arcanergy, Owen observed the iron sword.

The middle of the sword emitted a cold black mist, which gradually condensed, forming a black dot at the center of the blade.

Only then did Promi let go of the sword tip.

Clutching the hilt, Owen crouched on the ground, gasping for air.

"You felt it, didn’t you? The Sanctuary is not as simple as you thought. Rember, don’t be deceived by appearances."

"Yes, elder."

"Good. I ask you, can you still trust ?"

"Elder saved my life." Owen paused, then added, "And I don’t feel any malice from elder, of course, I can trust."

"You surprise ," Promi said, a trace of a smile appearing on his ever-changing face.

"Owen, this sword is called Ice. Keep it with you for now."

"Tomorrow, I’ll take you to the Sanctuary’s forbidden area — the Illusion Cave." Promi then tossed Owen another sword that seed quite extraordinary.

He didn’t give Owen a chance to respond and left the room.

Touching Ice, Owen’s thoughts were tumultuous.

This was no ordinary object.

He wondered why Promi was helping him so much.

The next day at dawn, Owen followed Promi northward.

By noon, the two finally arrived at the Illusion Cave.

This Illusion Cave is located in the far north, far from the main peak of the Sanctuary.

Looking back south, Owen could no longer see the four mountains where the Sanctuary was located, as they were obscured by layers of mountain ranges.

He then turned back to observe the Illusion Cave in front of him.

The Illusion Cave appeared to be just a cave in a narrow and tall mountain peak, which seed imposing as if it aid to pierce a hole through the sky, yet the cave itself looked unremarkable.

Wide platforms had once been built on both sides of the Illusion Cave, with stairs leading up to it from the foot of the mountain.

The platforms were relatively well-preserved, but the stairs were severely damaged, as if soone had deliberately sliced away most of the steps with a sword.

Although this was trivial for Promi, Owen, with his current strength, expended quite so effort to jump onto the platform.

Promi approached the cave entrance, murmuring sothing under his breath, and the mountain trembled, revealing the true Illusion Cave.

The Illusion Cave had three entrances, with a transparent ward at the exits, preventing entry from the outside.

The entrances, however, shimred with flowing light.

According to Promi, those lacking sufficient strength would be repelled if they attempted to enter.

Owen walked towards the entrance on the right, only to be pulled back by Promi.

"You cannot enter this one," Promi said.

"The Illusion Cave lives up to its na. Those who enter will encounter illusions they can hardly escape from. Over thousands of years, only two people have ever erged from it..."
