"Anything else?" Shen Weiyi continued to ask.
For so many years, this was the first ti she had initiated a conversation with the other person, eager to know more.
"I don’t rember!"
Leaning lazily in the chair, Shen Juanzhi replied, "There are so many people around every day, how could I possibly rember each one so clearly. If you’re done eating, go rest early. Staying up late is bad for girls’ skin; you’ll beco less pretty."
"Got it, good night!" Shen Weiyi didn’t press further.
After she went upstairs, Shen Juanzhi sat alone in the living room. After a mont of silence, he dialed Secretary Jiang’s phone.
The next day, a series of knocks sounded at the door.
Shen Juanzhi opened the door and didn’t see anyone at first glance. Just as he was about to close the door, he noticed a little figure lying by his feet.
Shen Juanzhi recognized the familiar face, lifted the child up from the ground, and asked, "Little guy, what are you doing here?"
"I’m here to find Sister." Little Douding replied with a babyish voice.
"Just by yourself?" Shen Juanzhi looked behind him. As soon as he finished speaking, he saw a figure descending from the car he had seen the night before.
"Hello, Uncle!"
Sheng Ting was eting Shen Juanzhi for the first ti. However, after learning that Little Douding was taken ho by soone, he imdiately researched Shen Juanzhi’s information and recognized him at a glance, greeting him politely.
Shen Juanzhi was also sizing up the newcor.
The night before, Sheng Ting was in the car, and Shen Juanzhi hadn’t seen his face clearly. Now that he did, his eyes clearly expressed his dislike.
This kid was too good-looking; he looked unreliable at first glance.
Sheng Ting also saw dissatisfaction in the other’s eyes, feeling a mix of confusion and a hint of tension.
"Dad, what are you doing standing at the door?" At that mont, Shen Weiyi’s voice ca from inside the house.
"Sister!" Hearing Shen Weiyi’s voice, Little Douding imdiately wriggled out of Shen Juanzhi’s grasp and hurried into the house with his little short legs.
Shen Juanzhi then shifted his gaze and stepped back to say, "Co in."
As Shen Weiyi ca down from upstairs, she saw the little bun enter through the front door and couldn’t help but brighten up.
Today the little guy was dressed in a tiny suit and a little bow tie, looking cool yet adorably soft, like a little gentleman, with a sweet smile on his face that was very endearing.
Shen Weiyi squatted down, kissed his cheek, and said, "Little Bao, you’re dressed so formally today?"
Little Bao uncomfortably tugged at the bow tie around his neck and shyly asked, "Do you think it looks good, Sister?"
Shen Weiyi held his face, squished his lovely little cheeks together, and said, "It looks good, Little Bao looks too cute dressed like this, Sister really likes it."
Initially unhappy about being dressed up, Little Douding blushed at Shen Weiyi’s praise, pursed his lips and smiled shyly. Then, as if rembering sothing, he took her hand and started to walk outside, "Sister, let’s go."
"Where are you taking ?" Shen Weiyi was startled by his tug.
Sheng Ting explained from the side, "Today is Xiao Yan’s birthday. We’re having a birthday banquet for him at ho, and he insisted on inviting you personally."
"Today is Little Bao’s birthday?"
No wonder he was dressed like this; it was to attend his own birthday banquet.
Shen Weiyi had not been aware of it and thus hadn’t prepared anything, looking apologetically at Little Douding, she said, "I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was your birthday today and didn’t prepare your birthday gift in advance."
"I don’t want gifts," Little Douding said, holding her hand, "I just want Sister to spend my birthday with ."
