Jiang Yu looked at Jiang’s mother in so surprise.
Jiang’s mother smiled and said, "I advised you so many tis before, tried to make you go abroad, but you were dead set against it. Then later, you went overseas without a word. A mother knows her own child, I could tell right away you were heartbroken, that you’d been dumped by a girl, hadn’t you?"
Back then, out of concern for her son’s dignity, Jiang’s mother didn’t ask for details.
But her son’s deanor made it clear—he was clearly wounded by love.
After so many years abroad, she hadn’t seen him take an interest in any girl. And now, less than two months since returning ho, a child suddenly appears; besides the girl from six years ago, she couldn’t think of anyone else.
Just, she hadn’t expected that when the two had parted all those years ago, they would’ve left behind a child.
Jiang Yu: "It was her."
Jiang’s mother said with a smile, "I’m getting more and more curious, just what kind of girl could have my son pining for so many years."
"Our past is behind us. Mom and Dad, please don’t interfere anymore." The current situation between him and Shen Tan really wasn’t suitable for his parents to get involved.
"Useless!" Mr. Jiang cursed.
If his son had been more assertive, he wouldn’t have let the Jiang family’s offspring be left outside the family for so many years.
To keep Mr. Jiang and Jiang’s mother from finding out that Shen Tan and the two children lived right across the door, Jiang Yu had deliberately booked a hotel for his parents.
After settling them in, he then made a call to Shen Tan.
Hearing that Mr. Jiang and Jiang’s mother wanted to see the children, Shen Tan’s brows furrowed involuntarily, and her voice turned colder as she said, "Jiang Yu, you made a promise to ." He had promised not to let her parents interfere.
Jiang Yu: "Don’t worry; they just want to co and see the children."
"What if they want to take the children away?" Shen Tan couldn’t feel at ease; deep down, she didn’t want her children to et the Jiang family.
"They won’t. After seeing the children, they will return abroad." Even if Mr. Jiang and Jiang’s mother had any ideas, as long as he didn’t agree, they wouldn’t be able to take the children away.
"Jiang Yu, I can’t trust you. I won’t let you take the children, and as for your parents, you’ll have to explain to them yourself." Despite his promises, Shen Tan couldn’t fully trust him.
Who knew if he would conspire with his parents to take her children away?
"My parents won’t give up without seeing the children." Jiang Yu knew what she was worried about; if there was a way, he wouldn’t want his elders to know about the children so soon.
"What do you suggest we do then?" Shen Tan regretted it; perhaps she shouldn’t have agreed to him having contact with the children in the first place.
She was growing more and more concerned that one day, he would take her children away from her.
"Ah Tan, can you trust one more ti? I assure you, no one can take the children away from you." Jiang Yu’s deep voice ca through the phone.
Shen Tan was silent for a long ti before she finally said, "Fine, just this once. I hope that if such a thing happens again, you can consult with in advance." Instead of informing her only after the fact.
"I promise you," Jiang Yu paused and then added, "My parents also would like to see you, if it’s convenient for you..."
"There’s no need. I’ll wait for you outside when the ti cos. Just take the children to see them, then bring them out to after." Before he could finish, Shen Tan had already refused.
She and he had nothing to do with each other now, the sole connection being the two children.
eting his parents was unnecessary.
