So people you try to avoid seem to haunt you incessantly.

Upon exiting the apartnt building, Shen Tan hadn’t anticipated another encounter with Jiang Yu.

Judging by Jiang Yu’s appearance, he was likely to send the girl by his side back ho.

eting him twice in the sa day, Shen Tan terd it a karmic bond.

And the girl next to Jiang Yu looked at her with increasing vigilance and hostility.

Little did she know, Shen Tan wanted to avoid him even more.

Shen Tan couldn’t help considering moving into the company for a few days before finding a suitable house.

Returning from the supermarket, she spotted a figure leaning against the car, smoking.

It was Jiang Yu.

The wisps of smoke made his face flicker between light and shadow, obscuring his expression.

The girl who had been next to him had vanished.

That Jiang Yu didn’t see her off surprised Shen Tan, but she swiftly curtailed her curiosity.

Whatever he did was of no concern to her.

Shen Tan had seen Jiang Yu smoke before.

The way he held his cigarette starkly contrasted with his usually docile, puppy-dog deanor.

There was a ti when Jiang Yu smoked fiercely; even if he took a bath and changed clothes, Shen Tan could still sll a faint trace of tobacco on him.

Shen Tan didn’t necessarily mind n smoking, and sotis she smoked too, but not often, only when she was feeling agitated.

However, after giving birth to two little ones, she had quit smoking.

The Jiang Yu of now had lost the puppy-dog aura he once had. No, rather, his puppy-dog persona had always been an act.

From the beginning, he was a wolf.

And she was his carefully targeted prey, falling into his well-laid trap without even realizing it.

Shen Tan withdrew her gaze, passing by him with an expressionless face.

As she walked past, Jiang Yu couldn’t help but lift his gaze, watching the direction she left with a complex expression. Only when the cigarette butt burned down to his fingers and he felt the sting did he snap back to reality, extinguishing the cigarette and striding towards his apartnt.

In the following period, to avoid running into him, Shen Tan left ho early every day, often staying at the office until late before returning.

Surprisingly, she really didn’t encounter him again.

The real estate agent had found her a house, a nicely furnished small three-bedroom. In the past, Shen Tan wouldn’t have spared it a glance, but now she had children to raise and had to be frugal.

She could afford a larger flat, but purchasing one would leave her with little money to spare.

Shen Tan brought her two little ones back, planning to take them furniture shopping the next weekend. Once they picked out the furniture and let it air out for a couple of days, they could move in.

Upon hearing about moving to a new ho, Shen Ning was particularly excited all the way, chattering incessantly after getting out of the car, "Mom, can I choose a princess bed? I love Bao’er’s princess bed."

"Of course, you can," Shen Tan replied with a smile. "Our Ningning can choose whatever she likes."

"Really? That’s great!" The little girl clapped her hands excitedly. "Then I also want a mirror as pretty as Bao’er’s."

"No problem."

While smiling and agreeing to her requests, Shen Tan looked at Shen Yan and asked, "Yanyan, is there anything you want?"

The little guy shook his head, his brows slightly furrowed as though deep in thought. After a mont, he asked, "Mom, do we really have to move to a new house?"

"You don’t like the new house?" Shen Tan queried.

"It’s not that."

The little fellow shook his head again, lips pursed, his expression serious as he said, "But, does moving to a new house cost a lot of money?"

Mom already worked so hard to support them; he just didn’t want to make it any harder for her.
