After dinner, Sheng Ting was in charge of washing the dishes, and Shen Weiyi hugged him from behind, saying, "It’s so nice to have you here."

Having soone cook for you right after work and not having to wash dishes is essentially an office worker’s dream.

Shen Juanzhi initially wanted to have the housekeeper co over to take care of her, but she refused, feeling she could take care of herself. In fact, she had been so busy that she could only eat takeout for every al.

Sheng Ting turned around, looked at her tired face, and saw that she was noticeably thinner than when she had left.

After drying his hands, he tenderly touched her face and asked, "How much longer will you be staying here?"

Shen Weiyi replied, "Possibly half a year, maybe a year." She had initially requested to be transferred to the branch, knowing she must achieve sothing there before she could leave.

"I’m sorry," she acknowledged, aware that a long-distance marriage wasn’t ideal. However, compared to staying at the main office, she had more opportunities to grow at the branch office.

"Silly, you don’t need to apologize; we discussed this together. Just focus on your work, and I’ll co see you when I’m not busy."

"The professor might not let people off so easily next ti."

Holidays at the lab were rare; in comparison, Sheng Ting might be even busier than her.

Sheng Ting was speechless.

She was stating the facts; both of them were busy, and it was truly hard to say who owed the other an apology.

Shen Weiyi stretched out both arms, wrapped them around his neck, and said, "You don’t need to co here; once the work here stabilizes, I can return to City C to see you."

"Great!" The two gazed deeply into each other’s eyes, seeing only each other.

Having not seen each other for nearly two months, both were struggling to restrain themselves.

Shen Juan then tiptoed and kissed his lips.

Rare as it was for her to initiate, Sheng Ting held her waist with one hand to prevent her from falling, and with the other, he clasped the back of her head to deepen the kiss.

Their kissing led them from the kitchen to the bedroom, leaving clothes strewn along the way.

Just as Sheng Ting was about to pin her down on the big bedroom bed, Shen Weiyi suddenly rembered sothing, stopped imdiately, and placed a hand on Sheng Ting’s chest.

"What’s wrong?" Sheng Ting, still entangled in passion, looked down at her.

Shen Weiyi said, "I just rembered that my period is late this month." Since she moved to the branch, her nstrual cycle had been absent. She had been too busy to notice.

"You an?" Sheng Ting beca fully alert.

His lust quickly vanished from his eyes.

After exchanging glances, Sheng Ting got up and started dressing, saying, "To the hospital."

Shen Weiyi said, "...It might just be recent stress causing nstrual irregularity." She actually ant that there was no rush, and they could go the next day.

But clearly, Sheng Ting couldn’t wait a mont longer.

They dressed and drove to a nearby maternity hospital.

Since there weren’t many people checking for early pregnancy at night, it was soon their turn.

"Let’s do a blood test first! After confirming the pregnancy, we’ll check on the fetus," the doctor directly handed them the forms.

The test results ca back quickly.

"Congratulations, you’re about two months pregnant," the doctor told Shen Weiyi while looking at the test result.

Although they were ntally prepared, the mont of confirmation stirred an indescribable excitent in them.

They were going to be parents!
