The car pulled up under the apartnt building.
Shen Weiyi’s heart inexplicably began to feel anxious.
"What’s wrong?" Sheng Ting unfastened his seatbelt and noticed that her expression was off.
Shen Weiyi suddenly rembered that they had gotten their marriage certificate, and from now on they would be husband and wife. It seed a bit inappropriate to sleep in separate rooms tonight.
"Well, I suddenly feel a bit hungry, how about we go have so late-night food?" she proposed.
Sheng Ting glanced at the ti in the car and said, "It’s so late, most places are closed. I’ll make sothing for you at ho, okay?"
"Okay!" Shen Weiyi wasn’t really hungry, she was just a bit nervous about what was to co and couldn’t help but look for sothing to ease her nerves.
There wasn’t much left in the fridge, and it was late, so Sheng Ting made her a simple bowl of noodles with the scant vegetables and so eggs that were available.
Seeing that he only prepared one serving, Shen Weiyi couldn’t help but ask, "Aren’t you going to eat?"
"I had a big dinner!" Sheng Ting said as he pushed the bowl of noodles and a pair of chopsticks towards her. "Eat up!"
"Thanks!" Shen Weiyi picked up the chopsticks and began eating the noodles in small, delicate bites.
She wasn’t very hungry to begin with, so she ate particularly slowly.
Sheng Ting sat opposite her, watching. Shen Weiyi felt pressure for the first ti and braced herself to finish the bowl.
"Are you full?" Sheng Ting asked as he saw her put down her chopsticks.
"Mm, I’m full!" Shen Weiyi nodded.
She didn’t have a big appetite to begin with, and a bowl of noodles not only filled her up but also made her feel a bit overstuffed.
"If you’re full, go take a walk in the living room, it helps with digestion." Having said that, Sheng Ting went to clear the bowl and chopsticks from in front of her.
"No need, I’ll do it myself." Shen Weiyi said and then took the bowl into the kitchen.
She washed the single bowl for a good four or five minutes.
It was then that she heard Sheng Ting’s voice from behind her say, "Although our family isn’t short on money, we should still respond to the national call to save water."
Shen Weiyi jumped, hurriedly saying, "I’ll be done in a second."
Thinking that she would have to face whatever was coming sooner or later, she finally turned off the water, dried the bowl, and put it away in the cabinet.
Turning around, she saw Sheng Ting open a bottle of yogurt and hand it to her, saying, "Have so yogurt, I bought it especially for you."
"Thanks!" Shen Weiyi took the yogurt and sipped it, her favorite flavor.
Shen Weiyi quickly finished the yogurt and once again started to feel uneasy.
"Well, I’m going to take a shower first." She said, and before Sheng Ting could react, she quickly entered the guest room she used to occupy.
It wasn’t that she was deliberately avoiding sharing a room with him; it was just that her change of clothes was in the guest room.
After taking a shower and changing into her pajamas, Shen Weiyi ca out and found that Sheng Ting had already returned to his room. She stood in front of the master bedroom door, took a deep breath, and spent quite so ti psyching herself up before finally pushing the door open.
She saw that Sheng Ting had also just finished showering, stepping out of the bathroom, a towel in hand, drying his hair.
For a mont, they simply looked at each other.
Shen Weiyi awkwardly blurted out, "Well, I’m a little thirsty, do you want so water?" Just as she was about to turn around, her hand barely touching the doorknob, footsteps sounded from behind her.
Then, the door was closed by soone from behind.
Sheng Ting leaned in close, one hand reaching past her ear to press against the door panel, encircling her in his arms.
Bending over, he whispered in her ear, "Wife, don’t go."
The warmth of his breath caused a tingling sensation that spread throughout her body from the back of her neck.
Shen Weiyi tensed her shoulders, and within a second, she was spun around by Sheng Ting, who was gripping her slender waist.
