Of course, she knew Aunt Jing and Uncle Sheng wouldn’t call off the engagent over this.
But even if the Sheng Family, out of consideration for her, ca up with the money, how could she be sure they wouldn’t hold it against her and the Shen Family?
Coveting the in-laws’ money before even entering the family is displeasing to anyone. Even if they don’t express it openly, it plants a thorn in the hearts of the in-laws. They probably never considered how this might affect her. Even if they did, they likely wouldn’t care. In the end, what they care about is their own interest.

"Aren’t you going to do anything?" Shen Weiyi knew that although her father spoke harshly, he couldn’t truly be indifferent; after all, he had grown up in that ho and couldn’t possibly feel nothing for it.
Shen Juanzhi replied lazily, "Your Uncles won’t listen to . If it really cos to it, ensuring the base assets of the Shen Family is all that’s needed. As for now, let them fuss and fumble!" He didn’t want the Shen Family to reach that dire point, but with Mr. Shen still around and Uncle Shen running things, it wasn’t his place to decide.
Though he already had Shen Technology and didn’t even value the current assets of the Shen Family, others wouldn’t see it that way.
"Just worried that if we don’t help, they might act in the na of the Shen and Sheng Families outside our consent," expressed Shen Weiyi, veiled with concern. The Uncles of the Shen Family weren’t the type to easily give up after being refused.
For the sake of their interests, who knows what they might do.
Shen Weiyi didn’t believe this would be the end of the matter.
Failing to get what they wanted from her and her father, there was no guarantee they wouldn’t turn to other sources.
Such as approaching the Sheng Family directly.
Shen Juanzhi frowned, clearly contemplating the sa possibility, and said with a stern face, "About this matter, warn Sheng Ting beforehand. Tell your future in-laws that if your grandfather and Uncles do co to them, they should act without considering us. Rest assured, your father won’t let anyone affect your happiness."
In truth, Shen Weiyi wasn’t worried that the people of the old house would really do anything; she had her own ways of handling it. Her main concern was whether Shen Juanzhi, given his attachnts and affections for the old house, could manage to break ties if needed.
However, she also knew that to Shen Juanzhi, she was of utmost importance. Should the old house truly commit so outrageous act, she believed her father would deal with it himself without her needing to intervene.
But if that ti did co, the relationship with the old house would beco even more strained, maybe even irreparably broken.
Right now, she was rely issuing a preemptive warning to the other side.
Of course, the best outco would be to avoid reaching such a point.
