"Rest assured, with the Shen Family around, they will definitely arrange a marriage for you with a family of equal social status. You will never have to worry about food or clothing for the rest of your life. Find an opportunity to have a good talk with your father about it, then we can settle this matter," he said.
Shen Weiyi’s eyes flashed with a hint of sarcasm as she looked up at the other person.
Was this because he couldn’t get through to Shen Juanzhi, so he thought he could try his luck with her?
Shen Weiyi said, "I’m still young and not considering marriage for the ti being. Plus, my dad said that as long as I like the person, their family background doesn’t matter. As for the company’s affairs, you can speak directly to my dad. Though the shares are mine, my dad still manages the company. Whatever decision he makes, I have no objections."
"Nonsense. In families like ours, marriage is a serious matter, and not sothing to be trifled with," Mr. Shen said sternly, "Your father has created such a ss at ho over these years for your sake. You should think about him too. Ultimately, the Shen Family will still rely on your cousins."
He had thought this girl would be easier to handle than the third, but it turned out she was just as troubleso. Usually quiet, she now played dumb in front of him.
Just like father and daughter.
The conversation ended without resolution.
Shen Juanzhi, having a social engagent, did not attend the family dinner of the Shen Family. With Mr. Shen there, the others didn’t dare to be too outrageous, but there were still plenty of sarcastic remarks.
Shen Weiyi acted as if she hadn’t heard anything, just taking care of her own al, which eventually discouraged the others from trying to provoke her further.
After dinner, Shen Tan suggested taking her out to have fun.
Then, they found themselves at the bar where they had first t Sheng Ting.
At that mont, the young man behind the bar glanced at the familiar figure entering through the door, pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, and then took out his phone to send a ssage to soone.
Since it was nightti and during the October holiday, it was much busier than their last visit.
Many patrons were students, but there were also so socialites specifically out on the hunt.
It wasn’t long before Shen Weiyi and Shen Tan beca the center of attention. Soon, a man with a drink in his hand ca over, "Ladies, would you mind if I offer you a drink?"
Shen Tan looked up with a smile, "Sorry, my sister isn’t in a good mood today and prefers so quiet for a while."
The man walked away, obviously disappointed.
After fending off several groups, another figure approached, "Beauty, you look very familiar. This isn’t the first ti you’ve been here, right? May I have the honor of buying you a drink?"
Shen Tan gave the man a once over. He was fairly attractive but, more importantly, unlike others who approached both of them, he had co specifically for her.
Her eyes sparkled, and just as she was about to respond, a voice interrupted, "Excuse , pardon , here’s your fruit platter."
Shen Tan looked puzzled, about to say they hadn’t ordered a fruit platter.
"Senior Brother Shi?" Shen Weiyi had already recognized the person.
"Do you know him?" Shen Tan arched an eyebrow at her.
Shen Weiyi nodded, "He’s a senior from the Chemistry Departnt at Z University."
"Oh, a scholar-type!" Shen Tan’s eyes landed on Shi Yu, sizing him up; good physique, handso.
She then glanced at his uniform.
Considering many college students work part-ti in bars, having a Z University student as a server seed like quite a waste.
She could easily find a tutoring job that would probably pay better than working here.
But of course, it was his choice, and she was just genuinely curious.
